We're due for a new specialist hero

General Discussion
Compared to the other classes, specialists are lacking right now. I hope we get one soon.

I also propose we rename "specialist" to "waveclear", all of these heroes have an efficient waveclear mechanism which binds them together. Yay or nay?
They're getting rid of Specialists, probably really soon. The new roles are something along the lines of Tank, Bruiser, Melee Assassin, Ranged Assassin, Healer, Support.
forget that

They are getting rid of that label because it doesn't make sense, most specs fit in the other roles, which will occour soon.

That's not why they were specs, specs were specs because of unique mechanisms. If you want to make a "waveclear" role, you can fit almost all heroes in it :)

All the specialists if you look at then closely have abilities which waveclear better than other classes. Xul, murky, sylv, azmo, and on. I'm sure the main focus when in development was efficient waveclear

Yes but they've also been shifting the game towards a team fight objective based game, specialists can no longer put on enough pressure to push down a lane pulling people from the objective to defend forts, and most objective maps, especially the newest ones and reworked garden, will punish and reset any momentum a pushing hero like specialists gain in a lane for losing an objective automatically.

I understand that but is that what everyone wants?

Not I, I like more depth when it comes to strategies, the problem is esports is very polarizing, pros tend to pick the statistically best strategy, it should be up to blizzard to diversify strategies not homognize them, but blizzard for the past 10 years or so has had a terrible track record about that.
Ye,
Abathur - Melee Assassin
Murky - Bruiser
Zag - Range Assassin.

Let’s put this another way - specialists aren't picked because they're specialists. They're picked to fulfill a specific role in their composition, unrelated to being a specialist.

Tempo Storm used to run an Azmodan composition, his primary purpose was to stack his Q as quickly as possible and DPS, Sgt. Hammer is picked for DPS, Zagara is picked as a solo-laner and so on.

So this being the case, no I don't mind if their label changes. Still I do think that Blizzard should keep heroes and introduce new heroes that excell at sieging.
Specialist is replaced by 420 no scope max mobility kangz 220 mph.

So you are one of these who make my games a nightmare and let enemy specs do the F they want? Thanks.

Lets put this even yet another way - every time specs teamfight potential gets buffed, its popularity/winrate skyrockets. Thats because it is still good at what it was good before, but now it contributes to teamfights more.

But sure, keep ranting about Azmodans 5% identity (afk lazoring buildings).
