The game isn't "dying"

General Discussion
This game is dying so badly, I'm sure the execs at Blizzard are actually panicking... because they have never ever been faced with such failure before

I think HotS has an identity issue it still hasn't resolved

Honestly idgaf about HotS identity. I want to

1. Not be paired with complete noobs on my team every time I start winning more than 50%.

2. Not be falsely reported and then automatically punished with zero evidence.

3. Not have to wait months for them to balance their game.

4. Not spend 15 minutes in queue without finding a game.

These are very reasonable expectations, yet somehow Blizzard is failing spectacularly at all of them.

OW is not... and who's stopping them from creating smurfs for HotS?

try reading inbetween the line from time to time... makes you sound less salty
You just left some salt crumbs on me, my man.

That's because Blizzard recently spat in the faces of a great deal of their more frequent players. So badly so that they looked for other games. I personally went from 25+ games a week to maybe 10 games a month. I went from actually spending money on skins/mounts/loot boxes to using my video game budget elsewhere, due to the horrendous report/punishment system. That is what I mean by murdering the game. The game itself I enjoy, but I have little desire to invest time/effort/money in a game that will revoke access without a reasonable reason.
These devs have a nasty habit of not giving the players what they want, and if they were on track with doing something right (e.g., certain hero kits, sun's out swimsuits)they take them away from us through reworks or other forms of discontinuation.
first time i have ever up voted you. i hope the world doesn't end because of it.
I think this game is dying. Why? Because in my opinion, for the last few months devs try hard to push hardcore players out of this game. It feels like if you want to improve your skill, spend time here, rank up or even help others you are not welcome here. On the other hand if you want to troll, die 20+ times, spend the while game AFK, blame and report everyone for your own mistakes than you are warmly welcome, this is the right game for you. This game doesn't force people to improve, it doesn't even reward players for improving. What will you get? Just worse and worse teammates...

Where should I start? What about report system? If you are blamed by noob for the whole game (As a support main I have tons of experience) you can do nothing. He is a weekend player. Just shut up and keep playing... However if you try to give someone and advice (could you pls stop diving 1v5) you will be reported and eventually silenced. MM is garbage. The better you are the worse teammates you get. Last attempt to create PBMM was a disaster...

You can't main a certain hero here, because sooner or later he will be hit by unnecessary rework nobody wanted. How many heroes were destroyed?? (Chromie) Even if the rework isn't a disaster, it usually just change talents so instead of one must go build you have a different one (Jaina). QM, the main game mode, just puts random heroes in teams. I don't believe there is some kind of matchmaking in QM. Devs know it is unbalanced mess, but they refuse to do the easiest possible fix - make one tank and one support mandatory in every team in QM without any exceptions. It is even worse because they balance around this mess. Once I was a Nova main... Plenty of people tried to make threads about her, but noobs are louder (I push with 5% hp and she killed me, nerf asap pls!!!!). Just look at Mephisto, he is clearly the next one to be destroyed. How many threads about him being OP are on this forum. He definitely isn't op, just people are stupid! Yesterday I played one game in QM. Our team was destroyed by Mephisto despite we had at least 3 stuns. Our Hanzo was busy using Dragon Arrow for vaweclearing and my team spend the whole game crying in the chat how op he is...

Blizzard invested a lot of money to HGC, but I think HGC is bad for this game. It is so boring to watch, especially few weeks month. I watched Dota International Grand Final and they used more characters (Dota's heroes) in those 5 games then heroes being played in HGC the last week... Additionally a lot of people in lower ranks think HGC is like a bible and you must played the same heroes pros play.(I don't care you have 1000+ games as Kael with 80% winrate, we need Hanzo. I know you don't play Hanzo, I know you can't even his a skyscraper with his arrows, but pros play Hanzo so we must have Hanzo too... You picked Kael?? Report for trolling!)

There are plenty other things. Slower hero release with no compensations. Less and less skins. Lack of cominication fro devs side (one AMA every 6 months isn't enough). Bugs not being fixed for weeks. How much time did they need to fix Cassia's Valkyrie?

The problem is this game can't survive if devs keep protecting those who come here for trolling and ignore players who want to improve. Because sooner ot later noobs will find something else.

Just report everyone in everygame, play your own game, and wait this game's eventual death.
It's not necessarily that the game is dying. It's more the fact that it was never alive to begin with.
The game is dying for sure - but thanks to the matchmaker. Blizzard did their best to make an awful experience for everyone. Paired with the bad reporting system it was just a matter of time until we crossed the line.
Imagine if we had a time machine and went back to the year 2006.

Blizzard, in it's infinite wisdom, allows level 1 characters in World of Warcraft to raid with the level 70 characters. Imagine how big WoW would be now!

Do I really need to add /s ?
This game is already dead.
It's pretty sad that the worst threat to this game isn't other games but the one who created it. It doesn't even make sense on half of Blizz's actions. It's like they want to spite their playerbase and make people not want to play their game

Haha it's so true

Look at their proposed changes to the Garden of Terror map.

I swear the Blizzard devs have been given a mandate to just sink the game from within

My que times have steadily increased over the last 6 months ..

I'm seeing the same players in QM and HL more frequently (in HL i'm matched with the same players over and over just on different teams)

The reddit sub has less and less posts in recent months

Streamers are abandoning the game

New features/skins/heroes are releasing with far less frequency

My friend list is a ghost town over the last several months with less and less players

Hotslogs is showing smaller sample sizes in terms of 'games played' with their hero stats

Although this forum "looks" very active, the large majority of posts are people debating blizzard's draconian policies/viability as a gaming company more than anything to actually do with the game itself

If these are not signs that the game is dying then i don't know what is

Draconian is right. I haven't played this game in like 6 months now, I check from time to time to see if they will lift their awful silence system. I can't understand for the life of me how a customer serving industry would not serve the customer. I am really liked this game when it came out and then it SJW to the max and ruined all the things that made it cool like removal of specialists etc.
I played this game for it's uniqueness.

Sad to see a game like this die but I know what you mean about same players different teams. This game is going the way of the dinosaur.
So that's it? With game's death Tassadar will get his rest after such suffering here.
Don't worry, you are not a shet, unplayable hero on dawn game, you are still a hero of Aiur.
En Taro Tassadar!
It's sad cause I really want this game to succeed but it feels like we get the opposite of what we want...

People have yelled this nonsense since the game was released. What's happening right now is that people are playing all the new videogames that have recently come out right now. It happens every year. We are at that time period where new games get announced/released. This game isn't going anywhere.

I just uninstalled.. Kinda tired of the way they turn their noses into the air about every valid problem and just make us wait a season for a fix....just like in d3....
The afker/early quit as soon as ranked match starts issue is freaking ridiculous hence why I uninstalled. 6 games in a row 3 of which had a repeat offender we were all reporting for it!
Nowadays, we forgot to just enjoy games, it seems that people are more interested on putting their "judge" hat and expect things their way... if not, the game is "doomed" "dead" "destroyed"...

May be I'm very basic on the way I see HotS... I log in, queue for a few matches a day, have fun winning or losing, learn a few things, and log out... I haven't spent one single $ on this game and yet I have a decent-sized roster.. and I'm always between late-Plat and early-Dia.. and you know what? I'm fine with it..

For a free game, it entertains me when I play it... if I'm not in the mood? simple, I play something else..

But then I see all these angry kids being very desperate trying to convince other people that this game is X or Y... that is "dead".. and I just don't get it..

It amazes me how some people create conspiracy theories about Blizzard; they try really hard day after day to convince others to stop playing (?) - they seem to hate Blizzard and their products... and yet, here they are.. day after day.. on their empty crusade.

Brother, if the game doesn't suit you or you don't like it... you are free to go and play something else.
Yesterday with GoT rework devs show one of the most important reason why this game is dying. If it l is not broken break it, so you can fix it.
