Please Stop the Map Rotations!

After receiving numerous complaints the last time limited map rotations were in place, I thought Blizzard finally wised up and ended the practice. Look, no one wants to play the same 5 maps over and over again, it's just not fun at all. And since we can expect this to go on for a month or more if not stopped, it's just crazy.

Why are you destroying your own game with these really terrible decisions? If Blizzard were to take a poll showing how many people disliked vs. liked the limited rotations, I'm very sure upwards of 80% would be in the dislike category which would be huge in any poll. Why put in a mechanic that is so hated by so many of your players?

Not to mention the limited map rotations directly interfere with the watchtower quest objective. It is impossible to do the quest in non-ranked modes. All that does is force people who have no desire to play ranked into a ranked game and that SEVERELY disrupts the quality of ranked games as all they are trying to do is complete the quest.

The Blizzard HotS team really needs to get their act together. It's obvious whoever designed the quests had no idea the maps would be restricted so severely.

It's time to end map rotations forever. I thought the issue was already resolved the last time dozens of posts complained but it seems the HotS team has a very short memory. Therefore there needs to be dozens of more posts until the practice is ended once and for all. I cannot stand another month of playing only 5 maps, can any of you? If not, speak up.
Agree and the new garden terror is not as good as the original.
I agree 100% need full map rotation and i would love if they reverted the garden of terror back to its original state. The map may of had its issues but running around in the terror was just great fun.

I vote to end map rotations forever
Back when they were doing a 9 map rotation, there was an uproar and they agreed to allow unranked to have the full complement of maps. Now they are giving us an even worse rotation.

Hey, Blizzard! Limited map rotations are BORING! They were boring when there were 9 maps in each rotation, and they are even more boring with only 5!
Yes please get rid of the limited rotation, playing the same few maps over and over again is scaring people away.
I have always been in favor of them keeping the full roster of maps available. But whenever a new or reworked one is added, they just make it so the new map has a slightly higher chance of coming up.

That way the game doesn't get stale from lack of map variety, and they still get people to play the new map enough to get some accurate balancing feedback and stuff.
I stopped playing the last time limited map rotation was a thing because I was sick of the same few maps over and over meanwhile some of my favorite maps weren't in the rotation. Came back when they finally figured out what a dumb idea it was and now here we are again with them doing the dumb.

Blizzard, stop the map rotation nonsense.
Flood all the forums with end maps rotation threads, up vote, keep em at the top of the forums, the squeaky wheel gets oiled.
No map rotations! Variety!
They limited it because it was hard for new players to know 15 maps. It's a horrible decision.
What about a voting system? you'll get to pick between 3 maps, and whichever map gets the most votes wins. Simple but effective, since people are more in control of what they want to play. This would also prove handy for new maps. You could put the new map into the voting system permanantly for like 1 or 2 weeks, that way people get to play the new content right away without any hassle. And if people don't like the new map, they're still able to pick between two other maps.
I would love to see a "Map Favorites" selection where you can choose the pool you want to get games on (for any mode). The game already has something similar in the the "Auto Select character from favorites" feature.

I agree that map variety is one of the draws of HOTS and I like most of the maps as well as random map selection. However, there are a few I never want to play and would like control over that aspect of my games.
I can comeback to Dota to play 1 map, if anyway I don't play all hots maps here (only 5 from many (so logical decision)).
Don't hurt your original idea of multi maps game, lol.
Big plus for this topic
Yes please, I'm normally a pure Unranked player, and now I'm forced to play ranked if I want to enjoy other maps. Needless to say, I don't enjoy ranked as much and my playtime has severely taken a hit due to this.
It doesn't help that we literally have the same exact rotation as we did when Hanamura got released, but with even LESS MAPS....WHY??

Yes pls. Just like in Starcraft 2. You can remove 2 maps in 1vs1 battles and more or less in 2vs2 etc etc.
Don't worry, once they've reworked every map to be "Cursed Hollow but with [insert gimmick here]," map rotations will be a problem of the past!

I envision a future where all maps will be about teamfights on an objective that does all your pushing for you, since they're getting rid of specialists. Mark my words, Blackheart's Bay will be reworked into a map where now you escort Blackheart's ship to your side of the map where he'll then start firing on the enemy a-la Hanamura. Tomb of the Spider Queen will now have spider nest objectives that spawn neutrally and must be captured to give teams a set amount of gems. Warhead Junction? Cursed Hollow but with nukes.

Why have all maps available when you can just make several maps redundant and rotate them out? Seems to be Blizzard's style to, instead of reverting changes that players don't like, keep changing things to fit with the change that wasn't liked so that hopefully the whole system makes sense again and thus is liked . . . before starting the whole process over again.

This new rotation system is salvageable...they just need way more maps to do it. So much so that we can run the old gamut of objectives just with different scenery, for every rotation.

Do I like it this way? Of course not. But I've to come to terms with the fact that this is the direction we're heading in. You know what they say: "When life gives you lemons, extract their essence to improve the swarm."

Till this day I’m still wondering who are these people who thought it was “overwhelming” to learn all maps at once

IIRC the intention of map rotation was so that new players can learn a few maps easily and be able to adapt a playstyle for that map instead of overwhelming them with like 10 maps all in one day - this, it's fine. I understand. This was also done when new maps come out, so that chances of playing a new map will be high.

But.

To have only 5 out of 15 Battlegrounds with no watchtowers which makes the Watchtower event quest impossible to finish, is imo dumb. I believe this was done so the devs can get more data, more feedback on the reworked map. But srsly tho, tons already complained about the reworked GoT and wanted something else so that the map retains the "terror" and its iconic playstyle. Is that not enough feedback for you, devs? :/

Knowing Blizz, they won't remove map rotation. Meh, whatever I dunno.... How about this instead? Blizz keeps map rotation but increase number of maps from 5 to 7 maps, and change maps every 2~3 weeks or every month. I think, I think new players can handle 7 maps and be able to learn the different mechanics of each map within a span of 3 weeks or a month. I think, ok.

: )
