Sad to see this still happening a year later... My bf is in advoid me for being too good and im now in needs work (2 weeks now been playing games advoiding blocks etc and still here also this is my first bad rep) because i came across a 5 stack of toxic guys in a ranked game who all reported me for playing a character they didnt like even though they all admited to throwing. I find it ridiculous that a person could report you get all there friends to report you just for being good and youll get banned without any proof of you doing anything wrong. Microsoft is a scam.
I recently ended up in avoid me, I can't play quick play, the queue in comp is long as hell, and I get matched with Masters, grandmaster, and tons of people with highly differing SR than me. Blizzard needs to implement their reporting system for consoles, so they can stop using this one. And they need to do it fast.

Add another user into the same boat. I contacted Blizzard and the rep said Blizzard is to blame. Gave me the option to play other games that don't use the rep system or contact Blizzard.

I blame Microsoft but what a way to get removed from Overwatch.

Xim4 is a pc on console product is that allowed?
Just got placed in avoid me for the THIRD time this season for playing off-meta (mainly play Torb, got to low diamond but now sinking further and further to gold). Thanks Blizzard for continuing to do nothing about this while literally EVERY other game publisher (EA, Ubisoft, Wargaming) opt-out because they know the system is broken and can easily be exploited. Seriously, just look at the messages I get:

I called XBOX Customer Support to complain about this same issue. They advised me to stop playing Overwatch as they have been receiving an influx of calls similar to mine.

Why am I showing you this? Because in the 15 years of playing a blockbuster games such as Halo, NEVER have I experienced the vile, nasty, hateful community that Bungie/Microsoft never allowed to blossom. Overwatch on Xbox Live is a cesspool of horrible, disgusting, wretched and pathetic excuse for human beings.

I have played a total of 780 ranked games since season 1 and have consistently been reported and placed in "avoid me" because of my 'lack of skill" or "playing off-meta" at least twice every season:

780 games of Overwatch vs. nearly 15,000 games of Halo.

Why does Blizzard continue to opt-into the completely broken XBL reputation system that can be EASILY manipulated and place gamers like me into this category? I have heard too often in chat, "oh man, this guy is in "Needs work"... let's get him into "Avoid me" report him everyone!"

I have been a disabled gamer since 1999 and do my best. I am at the very least, an average player with an average skill level and have NEVER seen such online abuse. It is SHAMEFUL that a year into this game release, this issue has yet to be officially recognized by Blizzard or Microsoft.
i have recently (in the past 2 weeks) been unfairly shoved into "avoid me" status and can no longer play with my brother. I began to do really well with widowmaker and managed to climb to master, while playing with my brother with a little over a 3 k/d, so i was clearly doing really well (that is not meant to be boastful in any way, im just trying to fully descrbe the situation to accurately portray this blasphemy). And as such, I have an inbox FULL of hatemail from angry players on opposing teams ranting about how "im cheating" and how badly i "F**cking suck". You physically cant cheat in overwatch, and im clearly not performing badly.... so these reports are clearly unjustified. At first I didnt think much of these messages because everyone knows how toxic the OW community generally is. That is, until i was unable to find a game of any kind (save for custom games). I cant really describe with words how heinous and broken this entire system is. effectively being "banned" for being a talented player is ludicrous and, if nothing is done to remedy this disaster of a report system, im sorry to say that I will forever turn my back on blizzard and microsoft after years of dedication and support to the games/platform. I know blizzard is capable of not indulging in the reputation system, and i truly cannot understand why they do not elect to do so. It makes me sad to see so many players experiencing this very same issue. Please blizzard, save us from matchmaking hell and refute microsoft's incredibly broken reputation system. we just want to enjoy your games.

These are the time of people reporting good gamers like me. Please opt-out of this broken system Blizzard.
BUMP BLIZZARD OPT OUT, WE ARE YOUR CUSTOMERS, YOU CANT TREAT YOUR COSTUMERS LIKE THAT.
So are people getting reported or are they getting blocked.
Thanks for all of the replies and the input on this.

I'm Mike Ybarra, and I'm part of the Xbox team. I was linked this thread off Twitter (@XboxQwik). First, let me thank you for the replies and the input in this area. It's really great to see the feedback, understand the issues, and think about how we evolve to satisfy gamer needs.

Later this month we're going to make a change to help here. Based on feedback from a number of people across a few competitive games, such as Overwatch, we're going to change how reports of players impact the ability for people to play multiplayer in games. In short, we'll change it so that it will have no impact on a player's ability to join and play multiplayer. It could still impact a reported players (this takes many reports over time, not just a few) ability to communicate with non-friends in multiplayer games, but it won't prevent them from playing.

We'll outline more details on this as we go forward. Please keep the feedback coming. It's our goal to ensure Xbox is a great, friendly, and safe place to play.

You can physically cheat in Overwatch, and in literally every other multiplayer FPS on Xbox. It's called using a mouse and keyboard with the help of a special adapter.

And as for the post made here by Mr. Ybarra, that's great news :)
Has this update allowed anyone in Avoid Me status to find games? It is now September 3.
Time to join the master race and see what fps is like without 30ms of input delay.

This situation does seem to suck despite it being an Xbox issue spilling over into Overwatch.
Blizzard (Jeff), is it possible to have console accounts transfer over to PC? I am currently the 2nd legit highest ranked player on XBOX (no custom game cheating) and the harassment is unbelievable. If I could, transferring my account over to PC would probably be best for me as I don't want to lose my rank.

Belated and copious thanks for this!

Been an Xbox Live member for around 10 years and never had an issue with my rep until Overwatch.

Was extremely frustrating finding myself effectively banned from playing the game due to false reports from people who had taken umbrage at my choice of character.

My rep is still taking a beating from these petulant children but at least I can once again play the game I paid for on a service I'm paying for.
