Eichenwalde lore questions...

General Discussion
So my main question is who is the dude on the throne at the end? Is that some long dead Overwatch Hero...or is that just his armor and that hero is alive and yet to be announced? Maybe Reinhardt's father? Was he aligned with the dead Bastions or fighting against them?

Also, when viewing the trophy wall at :25 seconds, what is the middle trophy...doesn't look like any animal I'm aware of.

Interested in your thoughts...throw out any other questions regarding some interesting things others may have missed.

Lastly...I love all the Bastion-less birds flying around...very somber tone to this map...very excited as well!
He was the leader of the Crusaders against the approaching Omnic forces at Eichenwalde.
The man on the throne is the late commander of a group of Crusaders (a regiment of men in armor similar to Reinhardt). The goal of the map is to remove his remains so he can be given a proper burial. He and his men fought against the omnics in that town and lost their lives in the process. The German military eventually pushed them back however.

The guys name is "Balderich Von Alder". He was the leader of the "Crusaders", which was Germany's method of fighting the Omnics. Basically they built advanced suits of armour. He would have been fighting the Bastion's and was most likely not Reinhardt's father, but a good chance he could have been his old leader/commander.

Those are Diablo's horns. They're just an easter egg reference.
I think we'll have more answers about this from the Bastion's new animated short which will be live tomorrow, August 18th.

But the dead dude in the throne room with an awesome looking armor is the leader of the German team who fought against the Omnics during the crisis.
Everyone is spouting off info but where are these sources? haha

Literally in the description of the video.
The Castle is Reinhardt's frat house and the guy on the throne is Rein after a fancy dress party gone wrong.

They had a party, listening to Hasselhoff and drinking booze. Reinhardt got drunk and went to the robot frat house and beat up Bastion's family.

You play as his frat buddies who need to escort the battering ram to Reinhardt so you can knock him out of his hang over. This is so that he's sober for his Grandma's birthday tomorrow.

This is all canon and is sourced directly from Jeff.
Young male you have just been outplayed

nop...i want it and i want it soo very freaking much
Those omnics must be noob. Because Bastion has few problems versus Reinhardt.
The armor on the throne belongs to Balderich von Adler, the commander of Germany's Crusader unit during the Omnic Crisis (and Reinhardt's boss).

There's some additional story information about the map and the Battle of Eichenwalde coming soon, so stay tuned!

Appreciate and love the lore you guys have created within Overwatch - this piecemeal approach is feeling very similar to DBZ - "and on the next episode of Overwatch..."

Keep up the good work!
Balderich von Adler? a Blackadder reference?
