Uninstalled today due to all the aimbots

General Discussion
Yea, I know, no one cares that I uninstalled, but the only way to get Blizzard to start taking its anti-cheat seriously is to stop playing the game.

When they see that the PC playerbase is way down compared to the console playerbase, maybe they'll start actually doing something about the aimbots besides using social media to convince people the game has been cleaned up.
They just banned an entire swath of cheaters; maybe you just had a bad game?
Or lost to Soldier 76?
dont understand why people cheat on online games? its not worth it. bunch of losers.
What proof do you have they were aimbotting exactly?
I had a soldier aimbot in my game also, he said "I've got you in my sight" and I was dead everytime.

And what stops them from starting right up again and hacking until the next ban wave 3 months from now? absolutely nothing.
This sort of thing only works for subscription games, but not one-off payment games. They have already taken your money OP, they have already won. Also, I had this one Zenyatta hacking, he went INVINCIBLE How the hell am I supposed to kill an Invincible person!? Totally OP
You maybe encountered 1 aimbotter today. If you really think they are common you are seeing cheaters where they don't exist. Same thing happens in every competitive game.

Yeah, that High Noon hack got me and two other team mates. We all died less than a second apart, no way he could flick shot that well.

So...you want Blizzard to permanently and forever stop people from hacking their game?
Yes. Clearly you're showing an understanding of how a ban system works and how Blizzards is lacking. Please tell us, how would you solve this?

EDIT: Yes, I am aware of how Blizzards ban system works. But the kind of person who uses hacks in the first place is also the kind of person that would do it again. There's tons of ways to get around it. Internet cafes are the biggest example of this.

They have actually stopped people from doing exactly this.
Unfortunately, on our end there's not much we can do.

Submit a detailed report here:
http://us.blizzard.com/en-us/submit/hacks.html

Additionally find the exploiter/cheater in-game and report there as well.

Ban-waves will continue to roll out, just as they do in World of Warcraft, Diablo, and whatever else.

I do my fair share of both Competitive and Quick Play and the only aim-botter I've encountered was watching a buddy of mine livestream.

Sorry that you ran into this sort of thing. Could've been a very obvious hacker or just a McCree main who's got the flick shots near-perfect.

Game id bans?
What in Gods name are you talking about? There were already MASSIVE ban waves that hit cheaters and they didn't just hit their account. It banned one or multiple hardware serial numbers so they can't just buy a new copy of the game and play on another account.

If you think that isn't serious enough then I would love for you to tell me what do you suggest?

I seriously don't know how you can give a bigger statement about not tolerating cheaters than banning multiple randomly chosen hardware in the offenders rig.

Actually if you've watched any of the ban waves, people who attempt multiple times are caught right away. Blizzard has them flagged by IP, MAC, and probably even physical mailing address. They get slapped pretty damn hard. Overwatch is as hard a ban policy as I've seen and I'm glad for it.

Hackers aren't a problem you solve once-and-for-all. It's a non-stop engagement. Today's hackers are tomorrow's banned. Be patient with it if it happens and report it as seen.

You must not know how they ban users then. Since it is not illegal for a company to know your PCs specs they have access to all your hardware's serial numbers. Motherboard, Nic card, processor, grahpics card, RAM stick.... anyway, as an IT specialist my company has banned users from our network using a system that picks two random hardware pieces and just bans them. The only way to get back on the system is another rig entirely or literally swapping part out with other parts until you find which ones have been banned. This is the only reasonable explanation to the past couple of massive ban waves I can honestly think of after seeing people banned buying new accounts and still finding themselves banned.
