Hello Overwatch Team

PTR Bug Report
Hello! This is my second time posting this, because the forums actually ate and deleted my first posting of this. I don't even know why that happened. So I am going to just break this down into multiple posts so it doesn't get strangely non-posted again.

So my friend Zeldafan34 and I were playing around in the PTR for some time now and we had discovered some interesting oddities, glitches, bugs, and a new possible exploit on King's Row with Bastion and certain heroes.

So lets get the smaller bugs we found out of the way first.

1) Loot Box Prompt Glitch

This glitch is straight forward, whenever you unlock a lootbox or level up in the PTR as shown here, the screen fails to load and the lootbox screen is 0x0000000000000. We feel this is a definition error since this build of Overwatch is outdated compared to the live-patch; and we felt its a PTR Exclusive Bug.

2) Oasis Car Hitbox Glitch

This minor glitch was seen when we were trying to find any issues with the map, Oasis. We strangely noticed that the traveling cars on the map have a strange hitbox issue. At certain points of the roadside, the cars will not hit you like its suppose to be; yet comically, if you carefully walk down the shoulder of the road, remaining within that safe zone, you'll eventually get hit, even through the cars are no where near the player. Again, this is probably a bounding box or killzone hitbox error and while it has nothing to do with gameplay, it should be just noted.

3) King's Row Factory Checkpoint Glitch/Oddity

Excusing the poor image; this is the possible exploit on King's Row that we found and were playing with to see how far we can take it in our research on it. The first part of the 'Glitch' is that Reinhardt can actually pull enemies through the Checkpoint Barrier in front of the factory. Example scenario; a Genji is waiting for his team to group up behind the barrier as well as pushing the payload to the Factory/Underworld area entrance. If an enemy Reinhardt charged up, trying to rejoin his team to stop the payload and hit that wall? It would pull the Genji through the wall and kill him; as simple as that. Its a strange oddity, but that pales in comparison of what we found with Bastion.

4) King's Row Factory Checkpoint Exploit

The sample images above clearly show that Bastion has a very interesting exploit on its hands. As you can guess, we found that Bastion can shoot through the checkpoint barrier, actually being able to hit his enemies; but enemy players actually can NOT hit Bastion in return. We spent a good time testing this to see how it could work and it only seems to really work if you are on the Attacking Team, as the Defender side of the barrier doesn't actually allow damage to pass through it. On the Attacker side though, Bastion can lock down into Turret Mode and start to mow down enemies and all types of fire, even Ultimates are stopped by the barrier! Its quite a surprise, but what is even more interesting is that only Bastion's Ult does not go through, it seems only his turret form is actually able to do this due to the proper height.

A sillier variant of this exploit as a crouching Bastion in Recon Form can also fire his weapon through the barrier as well. Though its not as protective; the main issue with this, is that he can easily be headshot in his Recon Form and we just wanted to make note that his Recon Form (while not as effective), still can do this exploit. Another character who can do this is surprisingly Widowmaker, she can crouch and at certain angles can shoot through the barrier when scoped in. A bit broken much.

5) Bastion Emote Server Oddity

Another strange oddity we discovered was that Bastion's default emote is bugged. For other players, only the voice clip of Bastion's little bird friend plays, its actually animation and model fail to load. For the actual emoting player, its a funnier story; the emoting Bastion actually gets a T-Posing bird friend with no animation and no sounds! Another little small oddity.

6) Symmetra Proton Shield Texture Glitch

This is another strange bug we discovered with the textures of Symmetra's Proton Shield projectile. As you see, we were testing everything with 300% HP bonus in our Custom Game. What is interesting is that Symmetra's Shield spawns damaged and with visible cracks! We were very curious of this and made a little theory on what this might be. The idea is that Sym's Proton Shield does infact get the 300% HP Bonus, BUT what is interesting is that her Shield doesn't spawn with full HP. It spawns with the default HP, so with a 300% HP but spawning with default HP, the textures load in broken and cracked. It might of been a little oversight is all, but we just want to report it.

7) Our Study of the Roadhog's Hook 2.0

The BS hook is still here (to a degree)! As you can see above, there are clear situations where that hook should of NOT hooked and there were other times where a clean hook should of connected. In the three example images, every hook shown connected, reeled, and my friend Zel (Rein) was pulled right to me; through several walls. Some hooks are CLEARLY going through the map's geometry, and its still coming back as a hook and reel. We have a feeling this is NOT what the hook is suppose to be doing at all with the new LOS throw and reel checks. However, there is some other strange issues with this as well.

In these sample images, you can see thrown hooks look like they should be connecting; yet they break on the reel with no movement. The first two images are actually not even hooking to start and according to Zel, the hooks on his screen are actually going through him! The third image was a vertical test and you can see it hook, but the reel breaks when Rein is completely visible (a bit cheap for Roadhog in a twisted sense); but we have more BS hooking to show.

All of these hooks connected and reeled. A bit surprising to see Hook 2.0 is actually broken like this since it was made forward that you all on the Overwatch Team wanted to make sure it wasn't broken and we wanted to test this to show its still heavily broken. We have done vertical tests as well, let me get those up in the next post.
7.5) Vertical Hook 2.0 Testing

The LOS check on the reel is extremely buggy with vertical hooking, it seems to be confused on where to pull the target after the confirmed hit. As you can see in our samples, each hit is a confirmed hook and they should. My friend Zel (Rein) was clearly visible, yet the chain breaks on reel; something it should not be doing. What is even weird is these next example images.

These hooks look like they should NOT work, right? Incorrect! These hooks actually connected and successfully reeled Rein to me. And you can see the chain is again breaking reality and going through the map's geometry.

What is even weirder is that sometimes, the chain itself doesn't even spawn with the hook on the throw. As you can see, the hook is chainless and these hooks connected and reeled Rein to me again. The best for last.

Nothing. No hook, no chain again. And again; it reeled Rein to me. This is truly a strange situation with Hook 2.0 and you know we had fun testing this against bots and against ourselves in a controlled environment. The reason why we did try testing this in an actual game was... well, one match took us literally 22 minutes to find in PTR Quickplay, so we decided to just Custom Game test for better results. I hope you all in the Overwatch Team sees these posts.

Heavens, that is a very buggy. Hopefully that can adjusted and fixed rather quickly.
