Cryo-Freeze still does not reload Mei's gun, that is embarrassing.
Soooo I'm on console and we don't have Ptr

How does Mei feel now?

I tried to watch a stream to see if someone is testing the changes, but all the streamer said is that Mei needs nothing because she is the most cancerous hero in the game :/

Most known streamers are like that. Most of them also hate the Rez ability of Mercy.

I played Mei earlier in CTF when her PTR changes accidentally hit live.
She didn't felt any different to be honest.

I really don't think these changes will make her more viable and I'm afraid she will stay an F-tier hero.
Hmm interesting about the new changes. It's a little less than I expected, but I guess we'll have to try it out before we decide is it good enough.

The longer slow was definitely a welcomed one. I am surprise when they announced it previously last for only 1s, it was short but I didn't expect it was that short. It would certainly do a better job at "forcing the opponent to leave early".

As for 10 icicles, personally it is a good one for me. I'm exactly those Meis those always run out of ammo because I try to freeze after firing a few icicles, so I think it did solve that problem. However, does it improve Mei's DPS and consistency? Some say not but we'll have to test it. It would be nice if they increase her fire rate a little though.

As for other things I'd like to see, mostly it is cryo favor the shooter and blizzard bugs. Also it'd be nice if we got some changes to improve cryo's game flow.

Overall they improve Mei's supportive power(and DPS slightly) of her gun, at least on paper. Her role is still kind of unclear, and apparently still don't fill DPS role very well. However, the added control helps her to be a better off-tank, would love to see improvements to cryo if this is what they are going for.

That's what I thought so

The ammo change is a nice QoL improvement, and while the freeze buff is a welcomed change, I don't think it is the best thing that she could have gotten.

I'm afraid that these changes will basically change nothing and then the devs will leave her like that because "she has already gotten a buff".

But the changes have been live for 1 hour, maybe I'm just overreacting. Let's see how it turns out in the upcoming weeks

They're not. I posted it about just above your post.

Ok, but is the patch online?

Only on the PTR servers, but I have played the PTR version of Mei on live servers when they accidentally released it with the YotD event update.

Her 2 biggest issues/bugs were unfortunately not addressed.
  • Mei can still be stunned out of Cry-Freeze.
  • Her already deployed Ultimate disappear if she is stunned or killed.

(I tested this just on PTR. Everything was put on a lower cooldown for better testing.)

So basicly ignore the elephant in the room and try to get an E for effort? o.O.

Maybe getting Mei from F tier to E tier is the goal

I doubt she will become E-tier, but time will tell.
The updates are a gimmick
Everyone is getting amazing changes where i was like "wow awsome!" Torb and Sym will get reworks, then i was looking at mei and i just...felt bad for her.

It is still too early, but it looks like she could be the only f-tier hero left :/ They need to make her ult better.
Here is a good example of her slow changes:

So it does pretty much nothing is what I am seeing
It's a start, I guess.
Wall still needs to stop people being able to climb/wallride on it.

From what I'm seeing here:

That's.... underwhelming

I really don't see how this will make her viable

At least she is getting some attention, I guess...

It won't. It's an excuse to say we made changes and leave her useless for another year so Genji and Tracer can continue running wild dominating OWL with "cool" plays. They've had how to fix this suggested repeatedly and haven't implemented It, pretty obvious they have no intention on fixing her role in the team.

All the talk of changes potentially making her oppressive & they give her freeze effect a longer duration so that it changes nothing at mid level or higher play and makes her probably more annoying in bronze/silver. You'd think they'd want to change things to make her more effective at higher level play and the same or worse at low level, but nope.
This change really is not useful against "dive heros" like Tracer or Genji. Now you have +0.5 to slow down an enemy but none of them will wait that long without using dash / blink and flee before being frozen. Likewise, any other hero such as Mccree, Reaper, Hanzo, Junk still do 1shot to Mei before being frozen. This "buff" only helps in long teamfights surrounded by allies that help you shoot those frozen enemies. She alone still has exactly the same problems when it comes to freezing to dive or not dive before she buffs. 90% of heroes will continue to be able to flee before being frozen, kill Mei or leave her with very few HP before they become frozen
I don't think this buffs is enough to make Mei viable... But im on console so i can't test the buffs sadly
A year in F tier and this is what they give us? This change does nothing for her. It's just QoL changes, not any buffs to speak of. For a hero that has suffered for a while now I was expecting a lot more.

This is disheartening.
I wonder what Jardio, the number 1 Mei player in the world, thinks about these changes.
