More nations will soon follow Belgium's decision. I can expect major changes to the system soon.

EDIT:

The state of Hawaii has now declared them gambling and other US states will follow soon. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_akwfRuL4os

Australia has also declared them gambling, and is changing the ratings of any game that has loot boxes to R. https://powerup-gaming.com/2017/11/22/victorian-gambling-authority-loot-boxes-gambling/

Well they could give credits via winning and/or doing missions with a character.

Then just buy your stuff.

They'll probably just include coins in the purchase like they did in China.

So they can say you're buying the coins, and the loot is free.

It would kinda suck, but routes around that ruling.

They got away with doing that in China. In Europe and the US, not so much for angry parents will call them out on it.

Maybe the parents should try parenting instead of !@#$%ing about everything they don't like and want banned so they don't have to do their job.

Overwatch: Belgium Edition.

Whenever a country bans something core to your game you make a separate version just for them.

For bonus snark points they could later add a hero from Belgum that's a chronic gambler.

Game is rated T. Blizzard's system constantly encourages people to buy loot boxes. They want kids to gamble, so how is it the parent's fault?

I haven't spent a red cent on this game after buying it. It's their fault because if they didn't want their children buying loot boxes they, shockingly enough, just have to not buy them. i.e. actually doing their job as parents. You people act like Blizzard come to your house and force you to make purchases at gunpoint.

Well then the parents should control their children's spending then, not Blizzard

Pokemon cards? You mean trading card game? Are you saying that 1) overwatchs lootboxes in of itself is a complete game and 2) that I can magically trade my skins with players for a skin I want? or 3) sell the skin for cash. 4) you dont even technically own your skins under law so..
but what about crate opening videos ;_;

Please, please let this be a trend so more games and places ban microtransactions from games. It's even in Halo, ruining it entirely because it becomes P2W since you get better weapons. Some games only have cosmetic microtransactions which I guess is okay, but don't allow people to gamble with them or get P2W items with it.

Yes I have. Addiction sucks. And there should be help readily available for those who need it. However, your poor choices, or ever your heretitary predisposistion for addiction shouldn't prevent me being able to enjoy something. Its not a popular opinion, I know, but thems the breaks.
