Technical Support
full of packet loss in the last 3 days only in overwatch. I play other games and everything is fine!
This topic is being filled with a variety of different issues so I am going to try and give the basic pointers to resolve most of what I am seeing here.

Battle.net App Launcher Error Code BLZBNTAGT000008AD
First try making sure any anti-virus or malware protection software has the Battle.net app launcher listed as a safe program. Also make sure Adobe Flash is fully up to date (on Internet Explorer). Finally try doing a full uninstall and reinstall of the Overwatch Game Software.

https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/30333

If all else fails, I recommend starting a web ticket with Blizzard for one-on-one help.

Dealing with FPS issues, game freezes, or other system performance issues
When it comes to recently released patches I often recommend the following steps:

Update all Drivers and Operating System - https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/Updating-Your-Drivers-and-Operating-System

Scan and Repair Overwatch - https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/repairing-blizzard-games

Reset your Video Driver internal settings - https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/Resetting-Video-Driver-Settings

Uninstall and reinstall Overwatch - https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/30333

If nothing there helps, I recommend starting a new topic and give details to what troubleshooting you have tried and a summary of your computer stats by sharing a DxDiag file.

https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/Obtaining-System-Files

Disconnections or Latency with Overwatch
As always please try these steps first, they really do help make sure everything on your end is good to go.

https://us.battle.net/support/article/000112208

Of course if nothing there helps (which is a possiblity), lets map out why you are disconnecting. If you can log into the game at all try running a WinMTR while in the Practice Range:

WinMTR instructions:
1. Download WinMTR from http://winmtr.net/download-winmtr/
2. Unzip the WinMTR.zip file to the Desktop.
3. Open the WinMTR folder and select the 32 or 64 bit version. Choose whichever one corresponds to your version of Windows.
4. Run the WinMTR.exe
5. Type the IP address you want to trace in the "Host" field. To get the correct IP you will actually need to open up the game and go Practice Vs AI or Quick Play and hit Ctrl+Shift+N and it will bring up the ingame network diagnostic graph. In the top left corner is the IP address you want to run WinMTR to.
*note* When looking at the IP it will show up ingame as something like 12.34.56.78:12345. You will want to leave the last 5 digits and the colon at the end off and the IP you want to use is just the 12.34.56.78
6. Once you notice the connection issue while playing, play for about 6 more minutes, minimize the game and click on "Stop".
7. Click on "Copy text to clipboard" and paste the results into your reply.

Just in case posting here helps.

I have an 80Mb/s Fiber Connection
I play at 60fps
My ping (right now) is in the mid-30's
RTT is 56ms

But I am getting crazy spikes and frequently too. This has only started happening today but before the Winter Wonderland update dropped (and continuing after).

Before I began my troubleshooting (detailed below) I was actually getting rhythmic ping spikes. It looked like a heartbeat on an ECG. My game would freeze for a split second on these "heartbeats" making it very frustrating to play.

After troubleshooting the rhythm went away but was replaced by these massive and frequent spikes.

Here is my MTR:

WinMTR v0.92 GPL V2 by Appnor MSP - Fully Managed Hosting & Cloud Provider

Here is an album link showing my Net Statistics in a solo (custom) game.
https://photos.app.goo.gl/3UWJ822Z8z2yw4iC3

I have tried rebooting my modem, router and computer. I'm hardlined in (not WiFi) and traceroutes/pings via cmd don't seem to show anything amiss. Speedtest.net also shows consistent 80/80 with 2ms ping here in Stavanger, Norway.

Really at a loss here. Would love any help you can render.

Your WinMTR is clearly showing your connection is dropping dead after the Frankfort hub. This is a "middle of the road" issue with your connection and you should contact your ISP and share that WinMTR for them to figure out why you can't connect.

I advice everyone from jumping into competitive till after the issues are fixed**

I keep getting the same error message restarted my router and pc multiple times.

Sharing a Speedtest is not really helpful. It only proves that your internet connection in general is working but there can be a wide variety of possible issues that prevents you from connecting to the game server. Since it seems you can't even log onto the game, try doing a Looking Glass test to see if you can find out why are not connecting.

Dude, i like how you failed to respond to my post specifically, i told you after update the whole damn room lost connection to server. i friended people that were in it and they say they got the same error, everyone also got major lag before the server went out. happend multiple times in different matches. You can sit here all day and tell us its not on your end, but it is. stop fronting for blizard.

How can you deny a massive influx of server issues like the one i just described.

they will try to balme us but its there fualt
Too much packet loss these last 3 days. Something is wrong because I tried to play other games at the same and they are running smooth.

WinMTR v0.92 GPL V2 by Appnor MSP - Fully Managed Hosting & Cloud Provider
I cant play any Blizzard game, they're all "lost connection to the server"

RIP Overwatch
RIP HOTS

???
I'm guessing it was everyone in the rooms fault when they all got disconnected at the same time in numerous matches, right tech support dudes? All 12 people in all those matches must have had their own connection issues... Own up to the server issues the christmas event caused
Happens all the time after a new event, i realllly get sick of being punished for playing a console and while everyone is excited for new characters or events i just go 'well i guess i can't play overwatch for a month'

only responses i got were 'switch to ethernet', 'its your ISP' etc but how come a month after an event or hero launch everything works dandy?

(Plus low key salty cause you lose out on a week of getting those loot boxes. Any good shows to watch on netflix until the hype for the events done and servers go back to normal?)
Thanks Blizzard for DC me and SR drop even my ping was stable between 11-16ms.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=1303&v=VhzgIWHeJeA
I like how every event the same thing happens and everyone still expects things to run smoothly after launch day.

Good luck Wyoming. I hope all that hard work on the tweeter was worth the crap storm that is the general public.

No seriously keep up the good work. I have absolutely 0 problems but someone's bound to complain over nothing ;)

Disconnections or Latency with Overwatch
As always please try these steps first, they really do help make sure everything on your end is good to go.

7. Click on "Copy text to clipboard" and paste the results into your reply.

...

Your WinMTR is clearly showing your connection is dropping dead after the Frankfort hub. This is a "middle of the road" issue with your connection and you should contact your ISP and share that WinMTR for them to figure out why you can't connect.

The support will only respond to known issues like in a pre-made chat script. They won't reply to these kind of issues. Good luck.
I just got a stupid Fall Windows update from Microsoft, and now I'm getting error 0xE0010160 every time I try to start up the game, even after I reinstalled Overwatch. Not sure if this is more Blizzard's fault or Microsoft's. I don't know if it's a server connection issue, or a driver issue. Anyone know exactly what that error number means?

EDIT:
Found my solution:

My bad Blizzard, my bad. Looks like Microsoft is the problem here. I hate their updates. The new update "features" sucked anyway. They basically either already existed, or weren't even useful.
I’ve been playing perfectly fine until this update has made it impossible to play. Even with all the video files saying I have actually decent ping, low rtt, and ind also very low, I have gamebreaking slowness. I have checked multiple times the internet and taken steps, but I am having the worst connection issues never before seen where I will literally be unable to even move my hero at all for a good few seconds.
Im getting the lost connection issue too, blizzard please fix this, it even gets me penalty because of early leave game issue, and I have been losing connection during the competitive game, it cost me a lot and I'm in elo hell now. Please please please pleaseeeeee fix this
get black screen during game with the overwatch logo bottom right and then when tries to rejoin the match
constant yellow "failed to connect to server" message
if it happen during QP but i don't mind
but it happen during competitive so i'm here now posting this
it's funny when i played hours of QP and no problem but when i enter competitive it become like this
Lagged out and cant rejoin. I ve reset the game, bnet, internet and when I click rejoin it makes the menu sound but nothing happens. Fix this thing.
