Wake up and realize he is representing the entire professional scene of overwatch.

Wake. Up.

You want this esport to ever be taken seriously outside of this niche fanbase? You cannot have some angry raging adult man conducting himself in such a poor sportsmanlike behavior.

I can literally walk up to anyone on the side of the street who watches sports (football, baseball, basketball, etc) and explain what this guy is doing and they'd be ALARMED that he wasn't removed permanently from the sports league.

And you want this esport to be taken seriously? HE IS REPRESENTING YOUR ESPORTS.

1: He nonstop abuses the report system and since he has such an impressionable young following he shows people that it's okay to do stuff like this.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OXGtjG0hTBo&t=2m31s

Which is a flagrant and clear abuse of the report system. Now he's showing everyone "hey it's okay for me to do this! You guys can do it too!"

2: He is actively toxic and displays nonstop toxic unsportsmanlike behaviour.

Name calling, yelling, cussing out someone. Denigrating them on a public platform. He actually publically humiliated a person and attacked them over stream nonstop.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZykeYW3M2fI

3: Throwing matches. Seriously. And he represents your game. And shows people that it's fine to throw games.

In summary. XQC should get special treatment.

He should :D

Why...?

HE REPRESENTS YOUR ESPORT YOU WANT TO BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY OUTSIDE OF THIS NICHE COMMUNITY AND GO TO A MORE WIDESPREAD AUDIENCE.

By all measures, by ANY account, he should be permanently removed from this game (and all of his alternate accounts).

You currently have someone who has (1) aggressively abused the systems in the game simply for their own tantrums (2) shown disrespect to their fellow players nonstop and publically humilliated many players (3) actively has thrown games and shown complete disregard for the INTEGRITY of this game.

Do you want someone representing your game who ACTIVELY SHOWS DISREGARD FOR THE INTEGRITY OF YOUR GAME?

Do you REALLY?

Any sports fan would be in awe that he wasn't removed from the league and permanently banned. This behavior is not professional, not sportsman like, and shows a complete disregard and lack of respect for the game that THEY REPRESENT.

Agreed, Blizzard should hold them to a professional standard. They definitely get paid enough.
He doesn't deserve a perma, you're just being dramatic. A stage 1 ban or maybe even a full regular season ban would be appropriate.

Ya but these people are very drastic

A part time ban in the League season is what he needs now and without pay either which will hopefully changes his BS behavior. If it doesn't then he needs to be fully ban out of the league.

Anybody who's intentionally abusing the report system in hopes of getting other players banned from the game deserves to be perma banned. There is zero justification for that.

I'm not familiar with the player in question but if he is actually doing this as OP indicates then he absolutely deserves to be permabanned regardless of how much internet fame he has.

Agreed. It’s hard to take Jeff’s words of “play nice play fair” as a serious tenet of overwatch, when pro players like xqc can act like toxic bags of male human anatomy.

It gives off the impression “play nice play fair” doesn’t apply to you if you’re good enough at the game.

As long as xqc stays in the owl, especially with pay, I sincerely hope Dallas Fuel loses.

Why is this man-child allowed to throw and cry like this, while on their payroll, but someone playing seriously gets banned because they picked the wrong hero?

"But XQC rages for show!!!!"

He's still raging. And throwing.

It perpetrates and allows other people to copy this behaviour. It's bad for the game.
- plays 10 hours a day
- OWL stress (scrims etc)
- gets a burn out
- gets stream sniped with throwers
- loses his poop
- out of stress he throws

Now yes throwing is bad. But try to imagine being him for a sec. Yes...you see its pretty tough.

Why isnt this understandable? Yes he should get a punishment of some sort (maybe a fine that goes to charity). But banning him? Come on.

How about you get those toxic thrower stream snipers a manual ban? in stead of punishing streamers that get frustrated and do dumb poop

He has a very low emotional IQ. He should just be removed from OWL. I’m sure there are a ton of mature hard working tank mains out there who would love the opportunity to go pro and could perform on XQC’s level or better.

His toxicity and behaviour on stream sets a really bad example of what is acceptable behaviour in ranked. People like XQC are the problem with toxicity in ranked.

He called another player in game using their text chat a retard, twice. This is just wholly unacceptable.

You know a pro player screwed up when other pro players remove him from their friends list and report them.

I was looking forward to OWL but I won't watch or support it period as long as this dude is in the league.
That video in your first point is seriously disturbing. I'd never heard of him up until yesterday but the young fella definitely has some mental illness that he needs to get under control before it progresses into something worse in his real life and he ruins his life. Sad and a bit scary to see someone act like that with all the jumping around, weird voices, and screaming.
What he is doing is bad, but there might be more to it than we can see.

Hey guys. I don't post here at all. But this is kind of important.

This person is being paid as an Overwatch League Player. They have a full time job out of this. Including all the trimmings of a full healthcare and severance package. Even if they ban him, permaban him, or otherwise expel him from the League, because of his name on that year long contract, he still keeps those benefits.

Why did he have that contract handed to him in the first place? Why is this the kind of person you want people to see as someone worth signing?

I legitimately kind of want to know: who here thinks that this is an acceptable representative of the playerbase of the OWL?
OW costs $60. Now according to Blizzard, over 35 million people play the game. 35 million x 60 gets $2,100,000,000, approximately. Now, according to Google, the average income in the US is around $50,000. The devs team foe OW is around 100 staff, so we'll round to 100. 50,000 x 100 gets you $5,000,000. Now if you subtract that from the money Blizz gets from OW by the money that would go into the devs' salaries, that would be $2,095,000,000. If Blizz has this type of money lying around, then the xqc problem should've been solved a long time ago.

(math probably wrong)
