Why does everyone hate genji mains?

General Discussion
Just a little curious
They think that genji is freakin' OP.
They got annoyed by them while they can't play him to annoy others like what happen to them.

Oh btw
#nerfdeflecthitbox
Cuz genji is “op”
Because they do nothing but lock genji no matter what, just dive in and die until they get their ult.. which they die using anyways, and he is one of the more op heros that require little skill to use other than button mashing
Trust me, no one wouldn't like that "thing" at all except for Genji mains, as for Genji is boring to play now so I'm giving all time and attention to Doomfist

Well I could see that being a problem in lower elo. He's a very difficult hero to play effectively so I guess players that aren't has experienced or good can't play him well.
Mainly the way many Genji mains tend to act on the forums.

I don't hate Genji mains by default, only when they act really silly. But that goes to anyone who mains any hero.
Because Genji mains are the first to cry nerf on any class that can counter him
Because they are biased.
Unfortunately, Genji attracts scummy players like flies to rotting meat. While there are good and very polite Genji players out there (I've met my fair share of them, they're lovely people), their presence is overshadowed by the extremely vocal Genji players who are immature brats.

These guys think that they deserve only the best, so they only play the "coolest hero" and generally treat their team like lackeys (at best) or spew toxicity at them for not bowing down to their perceived superiority and playing "escort the Genji."

Genji's also the face of the "toxic DPS" archetype that's given most healer mains a chip on their shoulder. This player type spends a lot of time making their healer's experience as miserable as possible, both directly and indirectly.
I don't as long as you don't think you are better than the other players.

I had a genji main complaining about how he isn't getting heals while not having los and tells me that mercy can heal through los anyway! Huh, that must be a new skill, because as far as I know she can't do that unless she is tethered to someone already but thanks for enlightening me genji you obviously know better than the actual mercy player.

This kind of thing applies to pretty much all heroes though.

That's a nice hateful fantasy you got there.
And for all the healing complaints

People underestimate how important is it to keep flankers topped whenever possible

Literally 2 HP can make a huge difference

And it takes really short to heal them
Because this forum's filled with support mains. And who's the worst enemy of supports? Flankers.

So basically paper hates scissors.

I hate them sometimes because it honestly feels like they run away from me when I'm trying to heal them :( I just want to hug them and give them the healing they refuse to stop asking for even when they're at full health :(

First off. I do not hate Genji mains. However, I do notice a higher tendency among those who play him often to scoff at other peoples hero picks and even belittle people for things they think "aren't that hard".

Playing genji seems to create a perception of superiority in some people. Hell I pick him up from time to time and whenever I get a couple kills in a row it feels like I did something skillful (even though in reality it was quite easy).

So I tend to be on my guard when a Genji main starts talking due to my previous experience with them.

The problem is when a flanker extends past their healers range, and still expects healing.

Healers are vulnerable, they can't risk going into the enemy backline or separate themselves from their team to top off someone who is only missing 2 HP. As a healer, going off on your own for any period of time can get you and the teammates you could be healing killed.

It's called triage. Healers have five people to look after, on top of looking out for the next assassination attempt 24/7.

Flankers are much more self sufficient than any other class... Tanks, for example, are extremely healer dependent. Even the best tank cannot do their job properly without a healer to sustain them, while a good flanker can afford to sometimes forget they have a healer at all.
The hate shifts from Mercy mains to Genji mains

It's the circle of life mon ami
generic oni skin genjis with golden swords spamming their ults and carving pumpkins in potg,
bleh , They have the most spammable and op Ult
