"I'm going to throw, because you play off-meta"

Competitive Discussion
I am getting throwers every other game now. I'm used to it as playing 250 hours of Symmetra, but sometimes it gets really frustrating. Like I'm fine if you play heroes you want to, because I'm doing the same with Sym. I'm not throwing games ever tho, why would I? I am winning 60-65% of my matches like this and previous seasons. I peaked 3,6k this season. Lost around 100 sr, by just normal losing streak. After that I lost another 100, because of 4 games in a row same guys throwing on purpose.

This whole "I'm throwing, because you play (place any off-meta hero here)" thing is like the same in kids at the sandbox crying about other kid building a sandcastle with round edges, even the other kid likes it sharp... Just get over it. You should be mature enough if you play this game.

Does Blizzard have any kind of sanctions towards these people? They are the one who asks in match chat to report me even I'm trying to do the best I can even having 1-3 throwers in my team. I'm reporting them for throwing, but I don't really trust that they are being punished for doing so.

Also I get punished for playing Symmetra, because I'm getting reported every other match. No matter if we win or lose. I get like 1-11 reports per game. Then it triggers the automatic ban hammer and doesnt let me play for 24 hours. That's happened to me only once in 250 hours of total gameplay, but I still feel it's wrong way to handle the situation... This is a real issue if you're playing off-meta heroes and I bet there are plenty of other players who have faced this. Is Blizzard going to fix this?
Just because it's fun for you doesn't mean it's fun for your team. As a support main seeing the critical symbol on everyone because you want to OTP Sym; jumping around like a monkey and give us 4 dps when we already have 3 makes my anxiety flare. On top of that, someone sneezes on the 4 dps and they are all critical. SMH.

Winning a game is not fun? Throwing a game and judging other player before game hasn't even started is? I win most of my matches and I don't see a problem when I win.
Sym doesn't work in every situation, so when it doesn't work your team rightfully should expect you to switch to something with more impact. However, I object to immediate tantrums on a team when the game hasn't even started and we have a Sombra for example. I have a rule of thumb, give them around one minute to prove their worth otherwise ask them to switch if they don't appear to be contributing with their current choice of hero.

If you're getting picked on at the start of the match unfairly, before it's even started, then just mute the said individual while keeping an open mind. If it doesn't work after the first minute then switch to something more useful for that situation. If they appear to be throwing then report them for poor teamwork.

Remember, competitive play is a team game, if you can't be a team player then either form your own six stack or alternatively play another mode which doesn't truly require the importance of teamwork.

Not if I have to jump through 20 hoops to win, spend 6 rounds worth on the game that could have been won in one. Not if I have to babysit a Sym that is playing into a Winston because she refuses to switch because OTP.

Sometimes winning doesn't matter, it's how you win. Does it take you 3 minutes to win or 30? Could your team have won sooner/faster if you just picked soldier and killed the pharah or did you monkey jump while trying to microwave her out of the air as Sym? How hard did they have to slam their heads into the desk?

Sometimes winning is just as disappointing/stressful as losing. :/

Sym does work 65% of the matches for me. I mean, do you expect me to win even more than that? Even pro players doesn't have 100% winrate. You can't win every match. Is it rightful to throw in a spawn? Should Symmetra work even before the game has began?

30 secs to one minute is approximately the time I need to build up the shield gen depending the map and team comp. I don't think it's fair enough of time.

I play competitive to win. I agree it's a teamplay and teamwork requires to understand other people. I play to win. Throwing is not playing to win and it definetly is not a good teamplay and doesnt belong in a comp.

I went from diamond to master in a week. I see you struggling in plat still. It was real struggle for me aswell, because that rank had most throwers and troll I've ever met so far.

Understandable, and yeah the higher end of platinum is a struggle often coming across many players who won't play as a team and play for PBSR instead, throwers, smurfs, or in general trolls like you said. Especially more so with what it feels like a PBSR to non-PBSR barrier or try hards and fallen one tricks approaching around 2900-3100. I've taken a break from playing on this account until the Junkrat nerf and Mercy nerfs go live, assuming they don't change before then.
If you played a KOTH with Sym/Torb you deserved it.

LET me explain why i reported you. See anything can work and as unhappy to not have a lucio as i was i went with it. You gave no advice and made no attempt to communicate. Nothing.

Hey i get it. I understand how your games go. So u choose to remain silent. Again at this point we havent been to jarsh weve let it go we dont have a choice. Now here is where im upset you didnt attempt to say this works or i like to do this.

2 minutes left. Attack and you literally said nothing when i asked which way yoid like to go or which tank u needed me. As much work as i was doing on hog i flexed for YOU despite My wants. I went d.va. and i dmd you running in by yourself as you had been.

Then on defense a for one little hold you run top left when we all agreed to stay on point.

I reported you because we needed you. You had a mic and voice and we needed it.

I reported you for not considering the team when our solo heal mercy who was struggling terribly to keep us up to ESCORT YOU IN NEVER COMPLAINED.

I watched you walk into a sombra and came for you despite HATING what you were doing. Because you were my team mate. And i won or lost without you.

We did everything for you. And you gave us NOTHING back.

I reported you for poor teamwork. Because despite everything we sucked up everything we had to PUSH through on that awful lunar map every protect or enable......you just gave a half hearted effort. And we didnt deserve it.

See you think its about sym. Look. I know what sym can do.

Its the half baked way you gave us what you call an effort.

I hope I have never been in your team. Atleast your name doesnt ring a bell so I really doubt it. Even so maybe if you havebeen in my team you may have no idea how to play Sym and understand what I'm doing to win game.

I usually am in a voice chat and keep listening and giving coms there, but time to time I'm not there, because of the toxicity towards me that just keeps me distracted from the game. I perform better without some anger comments in my ears all the time.

You are actually an idiot or seriously delusional and you deserved your ban if you believe that Sym an effective pick in KOTH... I know shes not cause my winrate with Sym is better than yours. You should work on becoming a better teammate instead of a better Symmetra.
First of all your WR is 58%, not 65%.

Second, regardless of what your WR is, doesn't mean it's 58% on ALL KOTH maps or payload maps.

It's probably lower on those maps, and higher on 2 CP and hybrid maps. But that's not the point.

I couldn't care less if you're playing meta or off meta; if you're getting countered, switch. Counter-picking is one of the fundamentals of this game; there's a reason you can switch to a new hero when you die.

Last night lunar colony 2cp.

Why are you so selfish. Steevo can work around his team. But that team AND me gave you EVERYTHING and you gave us Nothing back.

Nothing.

You ran down middle assym forcing me to come off of MY pick just because i KNEW we NEEDED you. DESPITE UR FAVORITE CHARACTER WE LET IT GO AND PLAYED OFF YOU DUDE.

YOU DIDNT PLAY TO WIN. YOU PLAYED SLOPPY UNCREATIVE UNRESPONSIVE AND SOLO. YOU DESERVERED THE BAN. YOU HAD POOR TEAMWORK.
When i run hog zarya and people get upset im solo hog i talk to my team. I tell them THIS is how i go at this i dont play the choke i play corners we let them in bit spam from mid.

Its MY JOB to give them teamwork. They dont get to choose my pick. But i have 5 others i am responsible for. Its my job and ultimatly MY FAILURE if they blow past me and kill a teammate playing in a good position.

I do not owe a team a meta pick. But if its diffrent i DO need them to know what im doing. A plan.

Symmetra is a amazing pick played right. But you DO OWE your team some TEAMWORK.

My whole carreer in comp is 250 hours and 65%. Also I've tried to switch other heroes like mercy alot this season sometimes, but that has made my winrate lower than it used to be. I lose more when I switch, that's just how it is and I don't want to lose/throw games.

I don't play at night. I play early in the morning and during the day so I doubt we have played together which seems nice, because of your capslock usage indicates your anger and toxicity being off the chart even my scale.

Also, I'm not Stevooo and I don't want to be him. I know his stuff tho, he get's same toxicity time to time aswell.

Yet you still sit in low diamond. :DD Stop throwing and you may gain more sr.
Btw, I've tried to swap around and fill today. I've lost 250 sr in total. Should I keep doing this or go Symmetra and gain it and more back like last week made like 800 sr in total playing Sym only? What do you think?

Stats in last match with Rein = 20 deaths 19 elims.
You shoulda mained Torb instead.

Your turret replaces one thrower up to at least diamond.
You should play your best heroes or you will de-rank.

I think there is still the odd situation where you will have to swap off Symmetra on some maps against some people, but generally it is fine.

Just mute people that harass in game.

I'd rather have a 65% win rate any hero (including Torb or Sym) on my team than a 40% win rate zen or whatever.
