OWL Maps Not in the Rotation (Route 66, King's Row, etc)

General Discussion
Hi so I was just looking through the predetermined maps for the upcoming weeks (5 weeks of Stage 1) of the Overwatch League. What I noticed was that there were about 2 maps from each category that were present in basically every matchup and nothing else!

Ex. Escort: Either Dorado or Junkertown (No Route 66, Watchpoint Gibraltar)
2CP: Either Horizon Lunar Colony or Anubis (No Volskaya or Hanamura)
KOTH: Ilios or Oasis (No Nepal or Lijang Tower)
Hybrid: Numbani or Eichenwald (No Hollywood or King's Row)

My first question: Why? Why is this the setup for 5 straight weeks of not using literally half of the amazingly-designed maps in Overwatch? I was really looking forward to watching some crazy Rein Zarya on King's Row but apparently at best, I'm going to have to watch 5 STRAIGHT WEEKS of Dive Comp on Numbani.

Secondly, is Stage 2 going to be using all of the maps not used in Stage 1? I sure hope so. Yet once again, 5 straight weeks of just the other half of maps will get really old in my opinion.

I really like watching OWL so far, but I think not being able to show off half of Overwatch's amazing maps for 5 weeks or more will really make the overall watching experience pretty boring for viewers and really take the wind out of OWL's sails. The variety of the maps (4 per gametype) really makes teams switch around to different comps to accommodate to them (ex. Rein Zarya is viable in pro-play on King's Row where it really isn't anywhere else atm), which really is what is so interesting about Overwatch.

I would really appreciate if someone from the Overwatch Team/someone who knows the plan here could respond to this post and explain what's going on. Additionally, I would love to make some suggestions for how to improve how map selection is done (but I'm sure you know most of the methods already). Nonetheless, I think there are several methods that allow for fans to see all the maps and not have to watch match after match (for weeks) on the exact same maps.
I'm certain that if all maps were played, some matches would have turned out differently. Dallas would have had a better chance if they weren't on numbani because valiant clearly had the upper hand with their dive composition
Apparently the OWL chooses a "standard rotation" of maps in advance so that the players have a chance to better prepare strategies. I'd rather see more of an element of chance to it.
I'm fine with all the maps for a stage being predetermined. I just question taking a huge portion of the maps out of the rotation. These are pros, many of them have played these maps for a months on months. I don't think they'd be any less prepared just because there are "too many maps," especially if they know they'd be playing (ex Hanamura) 5 weeks in advance.

i think its ridiculous, they are pro's they should know what they are doing on every map, at least i get to see a lot of junkertown
There are 8 maps per stage

It means that teams get to focus on certain maps and strategies for those maps and ultimately increases the quality of games

And it also increases the repetitiveness of games
I would be willing to sacrifice some alleged "game quality" to be able to have any map variety. Watching Numbani in basically every match for 5 straight weeks is going to get super boring.
I asked this yesterday (my thread linked) and the answer I got was that it's to refine team practice by having less maps and they know what is coming up. Later in the season the maps will swap and we wont see Dorado any more, for example.

I don't really like this as seeing the same maps over and over is already getting a little stale and the best teams should be good on all maps at all times, yes they may not be quite as good but still top level and worth watching.

I thought it was weird whenever I tabbed in and it felt like every team was playing Junkertown.

Thanks for the reply. I agree, I don't think this is the best way to run map selection and really am worried what this will do for OWL's viewership numbers over time.
Lijang is used for game 5 tie breakers
The bad part is there are 3 matches per day. So it’s not just the same maps for 5 weeks, not only is it the same maps appearing in one week, it’s guaranteed to be some of the same maps on the same day.

quality of the games?

These are the best players in the world... I'm pretty sure the quality of their play will be good no matter what.
the teams ban certain maps because they are awful

it makes the tournament more fair

So you're saying Junkertown, HLC defense and half of the control points between Lijiang and Oasis are dive favoured? Are you crazy?
I wish all the map choices were way more random. It would be really interesting and more exciting if the maps were more mysterious and random. It would be cool to not know what maps will be played until minutes before each game. I get they want the players to be more prepared but that makes it less exciting.

Plus these are pro players so they should know how to play well and have strategies ready for each map. I really doubt any of the players in OWL is new to the game but who knows.
if you go and look at the later stage maps they do start rotating the other maps in
