We were spawn camped for an hour.

If you had a good team comp you could've done something about it.

This isn't bannable and shouldn't be. If you are getting spawn camped then it is your team's fault. Perhaps your team comp wasn't good. Also these are very low levels so things will change.

Yes, it's griefing, and is bannable.
Why does everyone expect Competitive level actions from brand new players?

Blizz allows this in WoW (since 2004). Ppl hold the flag in CTF for ages. It's fun. You could've left.

Yes, the new players could have left and gotten a penalty because the enemy team was trolling

That sounds reasonable and fair

Leaving would not have made what they're doing right. If Blizzard wants to combat toxicity, then they should very much address situations like these. Which are purely toxic. It puts up an impassable barrier to entry.

You'd rather waste an hour then leave and find another game in less than a minute?
Blizzard's been doing CaptureTheFlag since 2004. They know exactly what kind of ppl play in their PVP games.
Camping the enemy team was the result of 50% of WoW's Battlegrounds.

You only get a penalty if you leave 10 out of 20 matches
that hog with one hour objective time

just a high level player prolly made an alt account to abuse other players in free weekend. Nothing you could've done really , if enough people leave the match would cancel

Being complacent does not solve the problem. Drawing attention to it and admonishing it for what it is, is the correct action to take.
I knew it was a bad idea to make overtime not tick down, when only the leading team has the flag.
Spawn camping a team is a legit strategy in winning a pvp related game.

Now whether they were on a different skill level, that's a different discussion.

Um, they actually encouraged it because it's FUN. Just Google "WoW Twink BGs" or "Gearing WoW Twinks." They even made gear specifically for PVP Twinks (different than PVE Twinks).

The gear made them 10x more powerful than normal players at the same lvl
Going to show this to everyone I know an spam it on facebook an other social media to keep people away from being farmed like livestock that blizz allows.
But what do I know? I'm just a stupid training bot.

"for an hour" it's not simply about being spawn camped, it's the winning team willingly dragging the fight on for an hour to keep bullying newbies.

Everyone likes more XP. E.g., more lootboxes.

This isn't WoW, smart guy. Not even the same genre. Quit comparing oranges with orangutans.

Both ctf maps, Warsong Gulch and Twin Peaks, are timed. The match automatically ends after 15 (I think, it's been awhile, might be 20) minutes.

Genre? WoW Warsong Gulch was the original Blizzard Capture the Flag. It's PVP, it's CTF. What's the difference? Because one game has orcs?

All Overwatch games are timed. Eventually this mode would've ended too.

Even better when you can actually play the game to get said XP. Unless you think XP farms are a good thing?

I actually wouldn't have minded being the 'farmed' players. More time to practice the 'bad' characters without actually feeling like I'm letting my team down.

Twinks are acceptable in WoW because of the level brackets, and because a level 1 can't kill a level 100, no matter how hard they try. Gear is entirely level dependent, to keep those in similar brackets at similar levels of power. BGs are also 100% optional at every level, especially low levels. None of this applies to Overwatch.

World of Warcraft is a gear-based game that does not require PvP at any point.

Overwatch is a hero-based game that is almost entirely about PvP.
