Was it really fun for the enemy team?

General Discussion
For them to finally get a crucial wipe with grav that was charged the entire game only to have it completely and instantly undone? Mercy's GA can barely be CC'd and res was instant and barely counterable. So many people are complaining about new Mercy not being fun, but was old Mercy at all fun for the other team?
But being in a grav getting all wiped by a tire/barrage/death blossom/dragonblade, now that was extra fun. I love it every time it happens.

Also, Mercy keeps her ult for a grav? Keep an ult for Mercy. They would all be already clustered by said grav, and wouldn't be able to do anything for almost 2 seconds. But no, that's still too hard.
Ah yes, you saw the other thread so you made this.

Question, was it fun getting wiped by that grav? Do you find it fun to be sliced to pieces by a dragonblade? No, you most likely do not.

I'm not denying that it isn't fun to play against, but it begs the question, what is fun to play against? Reworking a hero because something is "unfun" to play against just makes it sound like this game is solely catering to DPS players.

And oh hey, yeah. Supports reserve their ults for emergencies, have one DPS or tank reserve an ult in case of a Mercy rez. They are all grouped up and you have the element of surprise, you get the satisfaction of a second wipe. Wasn't so hard.

It was fun just like wiping out whole other team by using two ults and dont even aim with them :P

For me it become less fun when she get invincible during using ult, no more insta death for her when her team is comming back from the death.
it was extra fun knowing that a mercy would rez her team after that and you've prepared a counter ult for it tbh. but in general i'd have to say no. problem with mass rez was that it lost much of it's risks and counterplay when the devs decided to give it invincibility. remove that invincibility and mass rez becomes a liability. the more you wait for that 5-man rez the higher the risk, like back in launch 5man rez would often result to mercy dying and her team coming back to life without a main healer. so really mass rez was never a problem.
Was it really fun to get wiped by an enemy grav-blade?

This is a two-way street, man.
Thing is "the enemy team" would often have the means to team wipe, or get close, more than once. Old Mercy could undo the Grav but not the subsequent Self-destruct, Dragonblade or Rip-tyre. Mass Rez balanced out the multiple ults in the game with team wiping potential, and you weren't constantly expecting that pick you just made to get up and shoot you in the back.
Okay, so a few things about this:

1) If they used ALL their ults while the enemy had a Mercy (Or even if they didn't) then that's poor teamwork and terrible ult economy. If the other team came back and used some ults on you to win, well then you got outplayed, son.

2) Sombra was a great counter to res if you were fast enough, but granted this was very rare.

3) If you noticed you're fighting 6v5 and they have a Mercy, she's hiding. Don't waste ults.

4) Most people on the forums agreed with the instant/hard to counter thing. Lots campaigned for LOS rules and a cast time, or some Ult meter where you had to get to 100% for 1 res, 125% for 2 res, 150% for 3, 175% for 4, and 200% for 5. Blizzard, frankly, just chose a bad way to deal with it.

5) Mercy is THE priority target. If she isn't in your first two picks, you aren't establishing the correct picking order.

6) New Mercy isn't fun for Mercy players, which is VERY BAD for a GAME. She also isn't fun for her teammates to die under her measly 60HPS. She also isn't fun for her enemies to have to bat her out of the sky. Old Mercy felt great for your team, you, but not your enemies. NO ULT FEELS GOOD FOR YOUR ENEMIES. Do you like being nanobladed or having a trans block your epic barrage/grav combo?

7) If it takes you a whole game to charge one grav, get off Zarya. - Zarya main.

^ basically this. Much like:

"For them to finally get a crucial wipe with grav that was charged the entire game only to have it completely and instantly undone?"

... so, basically, you and your team keept up a fantastic defense, and would have won the game ... only to have victory stolen from your grasp because of grav?

Ults are supposed to be game changes - they are supposed to be ultimates.

Or: "Was it really fun for the enemy team?" No it wasn't. By design.
No it was not. Only a tiny minority think so, and most of the community disagrees with them
Nobody dies and we run around the map chasing butterflies.

All things not fun removed. Illimited fun with butterflies.

How to Ult against Mercy 1.0 for dummies:

WRONG:
"Fire at will!"
"Cease your resistance!"
"Oh, let's break it down!"
"Rocket barrage, incoming!"
"Tactical visor activated"

...

"Gemeinsam wir kämpfen"

FUUUUUUUUU-

CORRECT:
"EMP activated!"
"Tactical visor activated"
...
"Gemeinsam wir käm-"
"Fire at will!"

GG
oh, then we should nerf riptire and make it blow up into confetti-- that's fun!

OH OH, and nerf dragonblade! it does no damage, but it makes a cute squeaky noise when it connects with an enemy!

why not nerf barrage? make it rain rose petals and champagne on your enemies!

Graviton makes everyone come in for a nice group hug. :)

'Nerf this' becomes 'dance to this' and the meka never comes down, because it turns into a disco ball when it hits the ceiling!

oh gee, I can't wait for overwatch to be fun <3 <3
on a side note, I would love a 70s DVa skin in which her meka is a disco ball. make it happen, blizz.

When mccree ults he does thelitte *pow* flag thing with his gun and goes "hehe just kiddingg~" (◡‿◡✿)
Then you shouldve hunted the mercy before making a ult wipe play, that was the whole point. I remember games when neither side pushed until the mercy was dead.

Of course you can, since people cannot fight when they are rezed, and mercy alone isn't going to get a wipe. But it seems you need examples.

When she ults, throw a Self-Destruct. About 2 seconds of the enemy team unable to act, 3 seconds fuse time on the self-destruct. 1 second left to avoid a gigantic explosion, everyone dies.

Or use Deadeye. Mccree locks on to people even when invulnerable, by the time they can act, you've already charged enough to instakill every non tank char.

Or use Rip-tire. What use is the huge sound cue and the 100HP tire if it's right on top of you as soon as you get to play? None, and everyone previously caught in the grav dies.

Or use Blizzard, by the time people are rezed, the drone just activated, and they're already getting frozen. If you can't catch them in Blizzard at that point, you can't catch them at all during the whole game.

Etc, etc... People can't do anything when rezed, so they can't react to even the most obvious ults.
I think that what should have been done is she can still do 5 man rezzes but they lose they ult's/charge, big part of the problem was team would work to bait out the other teams ults knowing that their mercy had her rez ready then she would rez them all and they would ult for the win, that was the super unfun part, so on rez remove the ult/charge of the one being rezzed.

Hell no. This would lead to SO much toxicity and would get rid of tempo rez. This is such a bad idea.
