Report system suggestions

General Discussion
Players reporting other player should provide evidence for why they are reporting. if the evidence are inconclusive, the player who is reporting gets a warning, 3 warnings in a day and it is 24 hr ban on using the report system.

the accuser needs to have burden of proof, not the players. and if either side found of tempering with the evidence, then it should be a perm ban on the ip.
how would you even give them evidence though

That highlight system is pretty nice. If everything is being pre-recorded and purged there there's video evidence aplenty. Anything you can't prove via video is still tricky.

That aside I present a simple riddle:

If a large (unknown number of) amount of reports doesn't get you banned automatically, then why are so many bans public and overturned? If you can get banned based on report volume, how are such serial abusers able to play so long?

Blizzard employs some of the greatest and most detail-orient programmers in the industry and as people I love them to death. Unfortunately enough issues with the report system have been made public that they need to make a commitment. Can bulk reports induce a ban automatically? Whatever answer they choose presents a lot of explanation of past bannings. It's not an easy decision but it's gonna have to be made.
You're asking Blizzard to increase their customer service staff from 40 to about 10,000?

if the time to make a report needs to take more than a click of a mouse and require evidence, the report system would be used at a significantly less. while it would take a staff about 5-10 min per case. you eliminate approx 80-90% of the reporting.

Blizzard should also bunch all the report vs 1 player together like they do now. and if the first 2 evidence is condemning they can ban that player right there. and if you have 50 report on a single player, but first 10 are all frivolous, you can pretty much toss out the other 40 reports.

at the same time there are punishments to frivolous reporting. and blizzard should increase the punishment to include game time ban as well.
This online game I use play had dire consequences for those who false reported. The game would use screenshots and text from the chat of The last 60 seconds when a report was made.

Who determines that evidence is inconclusive? The current system is very automated for a reason.

Never going to happen

of course you want people to review it. automation was a bad idea for banning players since it could be abused in different ways. and filing a report is way too easy.
