Apr 5, 2011 Sound won't play through headphones Whenever I run Starcraft 2, my sound output immediately switches to my laptop speakers. I have headphones which are plugged into my laptop, but when Starcraft 2 is running sound will not play through them. It is not only the sound from the game. Any programs running on my laptop such as iTunes will also switch. Has anyone else encountered this or have a solution? Thanks in advance. running an HP laptop with windows 7 64 bit. i amusing NVIDIA high definition sound card.Charlimurphy1 Apr 5, 2011

Apr 5, 2011 Patch 1.3, still often freezes when i exit... Blizzard, i don't really understand how it may be possible after like 1 year of release that there is a "general" bug like freezing when i exit the game like 5/10 or more... And people, dont answer that i have something "special" with my computer... I don't have anything special trust me, i am pretty sure a lot of people got the same kind of computer i have, inter "i" generation, ati radeon 5700 HD, and so on... pretty basic you know for a gaming computer, but still i get that bug... Anyone know what to do with that? I tried the "loggout before exit" thing, but it doesn't work everytime... Thanks!Saiyen3 Apr 5, 2011

Apr 5, 2011 Mystery Problem So i just bought SC2 and started playing it yesterday, well playing my game started freezing/ crashing, the audio starts to loop and my screen goes black for 5 seconds than it comes back again...Ive had this problem in other games as well like WoW and Rift but it only happened once or twice...It happens everyone 2-5 minutes in SC2 making it unplayable which is very frustrating not being able to play the game i just bought. My first thought was my specs aren't good enough but i compared them to my brothers computer who plays SC2 fine on low settings but my computer is much better than his so i know it cant be my computer not being ably to meet the minimum requirements.Fydelity9 Apr 5, 2011

Apr 5, 2011 FPS and lag issues Recently ive been getting random FPS and lag spikes. during these my fps will drop to 1, it happens every 10 minutes or so for about 10 seconds. Happens in single player and multiplayer. This confused me because it never used to happen before, and whenever i play Word of warcraft i never see any crazy FPS drops or lag. TLDR: FPS drops to 1 every 10 minutes for 10 seconds at a timePaladin2 Apr 5, 2011
Apr 5, 2011 Whole system crashes, suspecting video card lately, i think since the patch, my computer has been turning off mid-game. People around the internet blame my video card, which is from the ATI HD series. Apparently there's some bug that results in people with this card getting the same error, some even claiming it's been that way for them since beta. Blizzard, please get this fixed. I am, as always, a dedicated fan. Specs: AMD Phenom 2 quad-core 955 Processor 3.2 GHz 8 GB of RAM ATI HD video card Windows 7 64-bitJake1 Apr 5, 2011

Apr 5, 2011 Installation problems along with patch issues I have installed starcraft 2 several times now and I am still receiving the message that the installation was corrupt. After, it asks if I wish to repair the problem, which I choose yes, and it turns out that it does nothing. Also, everytime I click the SC 2 icon on my desktop, it brings up the patch menu which eventually loads up to 100%. Then, immediately after it hits 100% it restarts, only giving me a split second to hit the play button which then leads into what I talked about in the previous paragraph. What on this god's good earth do i do? {getting frustrated)Briggs2 Apr 5, 2011

But I went to check up on some of my old friends to decide whether to resubscribe or not. Anyways, if you google "World of warcraft armory" a SCAM LINK comes up. I didn't realize it at first because it looked like a legit link, but armory is spelled AR*N*ORY!!! I quickly realized the problem after it failed to log me in, but the password change service is down?! Please help me before its too late and I have to work for days to get my account back! Apr 4, 2011 Serious Disconnection Problem Dear Blizzard Support Team, I have been experiencing disconnections almost every time (like 9 in 10 times) when I click on other player's profiles in game. Apr 4, 2011 Computer locking up, crashing with SC2 As the title says, I've had my computer lock up randomly or crash, rarely do I get a blue screen. This seems to only be happening with SC2, any other game I play has no issues. I have contacted Blizz Tech Support but none of their solutions seem to help. Here is a list of things that I have done to try to fix this. -Updated all drivers (removing old ones before installing new ones) -Monitored temps on cpu and gpu (gpu never exceeding 70*C) -Updated OS (from xp->win7) -Replaced RAM -Cleaned case and added a new fan -Reinstalled the game countless times as well as run the repair -Tried running the game as administrator -Used the variable trick (seemed to be a temp fix, but alas my pc locked up after a few games) Computer specs are: Windows 7 (32bit) Pentium Dual-Core CPU E5500 @ 2.80GHz 4 GB of Kingston Ram DDR2 ATI Radeon HD 4670 Sabrent 6-Channel 5.1 Sound 3D PCI Sound Card Western Digital 500 GB HDD ^^ Budget PC Edit: Also like to note, this doesn't seem to be a patch issue, this has been happening since 1.2 I believe.Failure9 Apr 4, 2011
Apr 4, 2011 Voice chat issue / suggestion Hi, I enjoy using voice chat in game. I have however found that the available volume levels are too low. for example, I will max inbound voice volume and barely hear my budies so I have to up my speaker volume very high, and all of the game sound lvls very low (10% or so) my speakers if left at this near max lvl, would BLAST music or pretty much anything else normally. I would like there to be further options to increase volume. perhaps these are only system volume options? in which case you could implement a software magnification feature for those users who find their inbound very very quiet. i have 4 very quiet friends and they have all set their amplitudes up and are speaking close to the mic. it could be that they all have low quality mics. apparently i am comming through loud and clear tho. any ideas? is this a problem for a lot of other people? I can definately live with it as is, but would be nice to be able to solve it. thanks.Agnosis8 Apr 4, 2011

Apr 4, 2011 Low FPS/FPS drop in game Hello recently (Patch 1.2+~) i have been having worse and worse fps. in a 1v1 game my fps will sometimes will drop to 0, obviously inhibiting my gameplay and leaves me only to pause the game which itself is lagged. this is especially frustrating in a middle of a battle. i now run the game on lowest graphics settings and this will still happen and according to my system specs, this really should never happen. i was wondering if there was a fix at all for this or at least if someone could at least tel me what is going on. Here are my specs Sony Vaio - vpcf115fm 6gb ram nvidia geforce 330m i7 core. this is my first real post on a tech site so if you need anything else please askKnoToasT2 Apr 4, 2011

Apr 4, 2011 Freeze/Crash on mission 2 So i get the game, install. installs fine.. freezes comp upon opening the game. reformat hard drive, reinstall windows 7 64 bit, fresh everything.... install SC II , gets to about 90% and fails for some reason i didnt catch it. try to install again, successful. play first mission of campaign, runs smooth as silk, wonderful. tried the second mission twice now, both times it freezes as soon as i hit "press any key to continue" to start the mission. it says i have a corrupt installation and to use the repair tool, which i try, but the repair tool says it cant connect to blizzard. fail. i allowed it through the windows firewall and everything. any suggestions? great game so far btw Blizzard. :) a few problems are to be expected.Genetic2 Apr 4, 2011
Apr 4, 2011 Lag issues hello , so i have been having this odd problem that no one seems to understand. I have been playing SC2 since the beta and have been playing smoothly on B.net whether it be 1v1 2v2 or 4v4. I never had any lag issues up until a couple of weeks ago when season 2 started. The type of lag is very strange. It comes at any random given time and lasts for about 4-5 minutes , and the lag sets my play to about 3 FPS! Now some people say its my computer. here are my computer specs: Windows 7 Manufacturer: HP Processor: AMD athlon(tm) II X4 630 processor 2.80 GHz RAM: 6.00 GB 64 bit Operating System NVIDIA GeForce 9100 (integrated) The weird thing is that it even lags in the chat screen... i even went to speedtest, net (tested three times ) my results: Ping: 36ms Download: 5.00 mbps Upload: .84 mbps i also checked my wifi and its secure and no one is stealing my internet connection. i wanna know if anyone has been having these issues. i wanna know if its on my side or b.nets side but im not sure how to rule out B.net. i played offline and had no lag in single player.. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks! checked my device manager as well and all my drivers are up to date. windows update too.sMiVeGa1 Apr 4, 2011
Apr 4, 2011 Buying a new computer Im looking to begin buying a new computer that is a little more focused on being able to play games than the one Im currently using. I am not the most tech savvy in the world and Im not really looking for a list of parts that would go well together so I can construct my own personal powerhouse; I just want the names of some off-the-line computers that can do these things: Run SC2 at max settings with zero lag (including online play); Is a laptop with 4+ RAM and duo+ processor (please feel free to let me know if Im speaking like a moron as I only have a very basic knowledge of what these two things do); Does not have a history of bugs/cooling problems/needs continuous updates to keep from being an expensive paperweight; Price is not really a problem as Ive been saving for this for some time, however, anything much past 2-3k seems overly-excessive to me. Thanks for any and all input :)Demacry9 Apr 4, 2011

Apr 4, 2011 Couldn't press any hotkeys The first game this season, I was doing my placement, and when I was in the game, I couldn't press any hot keys for units! I noticed I had to click everything, but I could still make control groups as well as press F10 to bring up the options menu. Furthermore I couldn't even type in chat... I obviously left the game, (Yeah I lost my placement big deal), then went to vs AI to see if my hot keys or keyboard was broken. Everything was working fine there... Is there a reason as to how my hot keys were locked? I know I didn't change languages by accident because everything worked right afterwards....Espard1 Apr 4, 2011
Apr 4, 2011 ATI HD video card issue - shuts down whole PC Blizzard, please get this fixed soon. After a recent patch my computer started crashing (to the point of shutting down). I have looked all over the internet and apparently other people with video cards from the ATI HD series have had the exact same issue, some even claiming it's been around for them since beta! I have a high-end computer and it will run on top settings flawlessly then suddenly, without warning, crash completely. it's undoubtedly an issue with the game, please patch this. Apr 4, 2011 Unable to Download Replays I don't know if it's my computer or what, but I can't download replays and play them. I've tried opening SC2 beforehand, and then playing the replay, that doesn't work. I've tried opening it in the folder, and that doesn't work. Apr 4, 2011 Patch 1.3.1 problem No matter what i do, every time i try to play the game, it has to update first. and since the latest patch, 1.3.1, won't install correctly, i cannot play the game. i've tried several suggestions on how to fix this problem, but none of them worked. Every time it tries to update, it will stop at exactly 71% every time and it gives me this message: The patch "pc-battlenet-hdfiles\Support\Battle.net.dll" could not be applied. If this problem persists, you may be able to solve it by uninstalling and then reinstalling the game. If you are unable to correct this problem, please contact Blizzard Technical Support. Apr 4, 2011 new patch 1.3 giving me error reports Ever since the new patch, ive experienced error reports for the first time in 1v1 matches... i play terran and all my settings are on ultra etc. my computer can handle anything... it seems like i play a game and i go to counter my opponent and as soon as i get to his base, my game crashes to windows and i get a free loss that should have been a win. its happened to me 3 times now... it usually crashes when im "spamming" my 1, 2, 3, and 4 hotkeys... 1 is usually my marines/rauders/medivas ... 2 is my tanks... 3 wud be ghosts and or vikings... then 4 are all my production building minues my command center... what concerns me is i play custom 1v1 obs and my game doesnt crash i can be in a game for 3 hours with no crash... ill custom w/ my brother and my game doesnt crash, but when i play a 1v1 ladder, its as if the opponent has a little "error report" button and forces me to crash... :P ... any fixes for this? like i said, i have never gotten an error report before this patch....Illadelph2 Apr 4, 2011

Apr 4, 2011 Team Colors in Replays Somehow a setting was changed for my replays that gives all members of a team the same color. So a 4v4 looks like 4 players are red and the other 4 are blue. I can't tell who's doing what anymore. Does anyone know how to change this back?BruiZeR3 Apr 4, 2011
Apr 4, 2011 [Sound bug]Mics, Webcams, and You Ok this is weird kind of bug, but here we go. I have a webcam attached to my computer, a Microsoft Lifecam Cinema. Generally I don't use the mic on the camera, I have a headset with mic plugged into the front of my computer, which has a Realtek HD sound card built in. The weird thing is, if you unplug the headset mic, and start up SC2, it activates the webcam (blue light turns on)/tinfoilhat. That is even with the voice disabled in the settings. I know it is paranoid, but I prefer the webcam not activate. This is probably a program-windows thing, where the game is just looking for a mic, and windows just activates the only one available, but if I don't have voice enabled, SC2 should not look for a mic. SC2 should only look for a mic if voice is enabled. Note: If you hard set the mic input to the Realtek mic, then leave the game, and unplug the mic, then restart the game, it still starts up the webcam, since the Realtek mic isn't there and SC2 input goes back to default.CarlosSpicy0 Apr 4, 2011
Apr 3, 2011 Login Crash after I hit Log On Hey Guys, My game loads up, I type in my username(email address) hit connect and then the password screen pops up. I type it in and hit Login and it completely freezes. It looks like I have the new 1.3.1 installed as shown at the bottom of the screen but this is the first issue I've had with this? My computer is an Asus G60 gaming laptop that normally lets me run the game at almost max settings. Specifications: Processor 2.1GHz Intel Core 2 Duo P7450 Memory 4GB, DDR2 800MHz Hard drive 320GB 7,200rpm Chipset Mobile Intel GM45 Express Graphics Nvidia GeForce GTX 260M, 1GB Things I've tried so far... 1.uninstalling the game, deleting all SC2 content, then redownloading and install the client from battle.net 2.running as administrator 3.the repair tool thing contained in the support folder 4.settings all settings to low and switching portrait icons to 2d (read this fixed some) I have also verified that other games work that are demanding on my laptop such as Battlefield Bad Company 2, so I'm pretty sure its not something hardware related, atleast i hope. Any help is greatly appreciated thanks!!! -Mike HighVelocity9 Apr 3, 2011
Apr 3, 2011 Plz find a way to improve private tourneys is there a way blizz can set up software that can authenticate the sc2 client and the product key, guarantee its a legal copy and then allow that copy to join a lan server for private tourneys. is there a way that blizz could maybe retest the players clients before each game, send the info to bnet server, authenticate it again and then allow the match to take place on a lan. like blizz owned lan software that protects blizzard IP and prevents clientside modification while still allowing games to take place off of bnet. theres gotta be a way to set this up or some other reasonable compromise.... MLG is totally totally messed up this year..... Agnosis1 Apr 3, 2011

Apr 3, 2011 My game refuses to download. Okay, so I'll make this short. Every time my game loads it says I need a update. So when I press update it updates to 14% then shoots to 50% and closes, so I then press Starcraft II on my desktop and the updater pops up and I can press play. Then it send me back to the desktop and I have to update again, this time it says Blizzard Installer and that loads to 100% then the Starcraft II updater loads to 100%. Then It restarts to 0% after 100%. ~Things I've tried. Uninstalled and Reinstalled the game. Restarted the computer. Waited awhile and retried. Repaired Starcraft II. Updated my internet connection. I can honestly say that I am getting fed up with how many bugs this game has, I honestly wish I hadn't spent all my birthday money on it. I think I should have just saved my money for a game that would actually work.Josh4 Apr 3, 2011

Apr 3, 2011 Game crashes 10 seconds after boot-up This is REALLY getting on my nerves. I can't play SCII at all because of this. I played SCII last week, then a patch came out and now it started up. Can someone help me? Or do i have to wait another week for a patch that fixes this problem?Disease3 Apr 3, 2011
