Oct 16, 2010 sound problem - randomly decreases/increases while in starcraft the sound will sometimes become muffled, as in it will go down to about 20% volume, and then 5 seconds to 3 minutes later it will come back to 100% out of nowhere. the game itself never lags, i've never seen the fps lower than 40, not sure why it would be doing this... but it does it all the time and its annoying. i did reinstall the drivers for the soundcard and also try the game without the soundcard in and it still does it.Guitar0 Oct 16, 2010
Oct 16, 2010 Hotkeys not working... Hi Tech Support, Since I've installed the patch, my hotkeys are not working. My keyboard is working fine and it works in SC as well (I can type information into the chat dialog box when I press Enter). In the Starcraft options, it says my hotkeys are setup as Standard. For example, when I select an SCV and type "B" to build something, nothing happens, or if I'm moving units and press "A" they will not move to Attach mode. Please assist.steve3 Oct 16, 2010
Oct 16, 2010 after patch 1.1.2 game lags and crashes after the recent patch, i have encountered constant lags and drop where i can't even finish a game. the battle.net services have also been quite slow and its not my internet connection either. mid game the game would freeze or lag, and i can still move my mouse but nothing else works. if i wait long enough, i'tll drop me and i can go back to play another crap game. i would really like to go back to playing league matches again, because this doesn't happen during challenges and such.Takoyakuza0 Oct 16, 2010
Oct 16, 2010 You have left the game (Match in Progress) Eventhough I win the match - I get this message on the scoreboard screen. I DO NOT click leave the game or anything... I just get this message after I win the match. Again I leave the match using "Go to Scoreboard" or whatever the option is. It also says "match in progress." eventhough the match is over...Rohen2 Oct 16, 2010
Oct 16, 2010 Issues connecting to Battle.net Hello, I purchased a new Router yesterday, a Linksys WRT120N. The issue is, that since I replaced my hardwired connection from my modem to my PC, Starcraft 2 is failing to connect to Battle.net. Now, I'm not sure if it's just me who can't connect, as I've seen a couple other threads with somewhat the same issue, however, I'd like to get this resolved. The error message I receive is on the Main Menu of Starcraft 2. After hitting the connect button under my email address, I get a message saying: "The game is awaiting a response to Battle.net. The service might be temporarily unavailable or your internet connection may be down. If you are not connected in a few moments, please check your internet connection and try again.". Now, obviously I have an internet connection, otherwise I wouldn't be here. I can also still play CoD: MW2 and Counter-Strike Source. Any assistance with this issue would be appreciated. Oct 16, 2010 Patch Doesn't Download. "Another copy of the Blizzard Downloader is already downloading that file to that location" Is what it keeps telling me. I started up Starcraft to play, and it wanted to download the patch 1.1.2 so it started, when it reached 49% it rather froze or just stopped trying, I waited 30mins before I got aggrivated and exited out of the start-up screen in hopes I could just reopen it and try again. But it wont work and I dont know how to play the game now. Does anyone have any suggestions to what I can do to fix this problem?LokenGarviel1 Oct 16, 2010
Oct 16, 2010 2v3 random? So I play mostly random team games. Well I signed up to play a random 3v3 game and it doesn't drop me at the players found window, which was nice. However, to my horror upon looking at the loading screen I see that there are two teams... but only five players. Instead of having each team on either side of the screen in their own team columns there was instead only one column in the middle showing team one: 3 players, and team two: 2 players. When the game loaded there was indeed only two of us on team two. THE THIRD SPOT WHERE OUR 3rd TEAMMATE WOULD HAVE BEEN WAS EMPTY. So it wasn't like they dropped in the loading screen; there just literally wasn't a third teammate to begin with. Has this happened to anyone else?Kelfatir0 Oct 16, 2010
Oct 16, 2010 Achievements not loading and MP messed up. I've had this game ever since it came out (But new account due to false bannage) and have not had any problems until somewhere near September 24th. Pictures won't show up on anyone, profiles don't load, quick match games don't load up.. (They won't even show up.) The only thing I can actually do on the game is play Single player, custom games, and I can only play Quick match games when my cousin invites me to play. It's really been bugging me, and I want to know who i'm playing against :X. (If I can even play) 10/7/2010; 10:27. Update!: Protoss Decals aren't working. I can see Zerg and Terran, but not Protoss. Profile loaded; so that is good but pictures are still unavailable. Quick matches are still down but I can play with my cousin for now Achievements are also showing up now :3 but still no pictures or quick match options. Custom games aren't working. Update: 10/8/2010; 1:53 AM Custom games are working now. ---------------------------------------- Quick matches aren't working still, profiles aren't working (Except mine), and portraits aren't working. Toss decals still don't show up.Hammyobob19 Oct 16, 2010

Oct 16, 2010 Crappy Performance with GTX 470 Hey, I just recently upgraded everything on my computer and my performance with Starcraft 2 has been less than stellar. Here are my specs Intel I5 760 Cpu 2.8 Ghz EVGA Gtx 470 1.2 GB 4 GB DDR3 Corsair XMS Memory 500 GB HD I was psyched to get my new GTX 470 in my computer today and at many times throughout the game, the FPS drops below 60. Sometimes it drops to even 38 FPS before jumping back up. This is really annoying because I paid $300 for the video card and the framerate is only ok. I have the newest drivers and I am not sure what is going on. All the reviews for the card says that I should be getting around 100+ fps with the 1920x1080 resolution that I am playing on. Any tips? Oct 16, 2010 Cox cable has lost connection to Blizzard I've played hundreds of sc2 games without incident Tonight though something strange happened I was playing 4v4 and was dropped after about 20 minutes My Internet was still working so I figured it must be all of bnet So then I proceeded to go to the battle net forums and found I could not access any blizzard websites At this point I was thinking it must be a mega crash on blizzard's end Out of curiosity I tried to access the website through the 3G connection on my phone, and found that I COULD get to it from my phone This tells me that the problem is either my ISP, modem, or router I restarted all of my network devices and was able to pull up the Starcraft 2 website once, and then everything went down again Right now I am writing this from my phone because I still can't access any blizzard related sites or servers Has anyone experienced this before and know what it might be? I'm hoping it clears up on it's own but I don't want it to happen againsam15 Oct 16, 2010

Oct 16, 2010 GPU usage shuts off Recently i've been having a issue were in game my graphics card will stop working, the screen doesn't mess it, my FPS just dips from 60 to 2 in game. My graphics card isn't overheating its running at around 60C i am using a Asus G72 Laptop with a Nvidia Geforce GTX 260m. I am running EVGA precision, and it shows that the gpu usage is at 0% when this happens and the only way to fix it is to restart my computer, does anyone know what the issue might be could it be driver related? Oct 16, 2010 gps load suddenly drops to 0 I run the game on medium just fine 99 percent of the time at 40-60 fps. But randomly my fps drops to 0 and a lag like crazy. I used gpu-z and when the crash happens and my gpu load goes down to 0 and my cpu load goes to 100. Its really frustrating and I have tried all the fixes I could find. I have: 1. checked my ram 2. checked my temps (never over 50c) 3. checked my video ram 4. defragged my computer 5. deleting the cache 6. I have updated all my drivers 7. Updated my MoBo bios 8. checked my hard drives 9. checked my psu 10. reinstalled (twice) 11. reinstalled my operating system 12. checked for backround programs 13. and many others I run a: Operating System MS Windows XP Professional 32-bit SP3 CPU AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ 41 °C Brisbane 65nm Technology RAM 4.0GB Dual-Channel DDR2 @ 328MHz (5-5-5-15) Motherboard ASUSTeK Computer INC. Oct 16, 2010 cannot create join any games or play single Ever since patch 1.1 came out I can log in to battle.net fine but any time I try to join a game whether it is custom or through the ladder the button cannot be clicked on. I can search through the maps but I cannot click on join. I can search for maps to create a custom game with but cannot create the custom game. When I first log in the single player button can be clicked for about 20 seconds then it goes blank and I can't play single player either. I have uninstalled the game multiple times and this doesn't help. This only started to happen after patch 1.1 and I have been unable to play since that patch. The game never crashes and I can still chat with people in other games but for the most part I can do nothing. Here are my system specs. I needed I can also provide the rest of the dx log. ------------------ System Information ------------------ Time of this report: 10/13/2010, 11:16:18 Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (6.1, Build 7600) (7600.win7_gdr.100618-1621) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. Oct 16, 2010 Crashing - Inquiry on a possible cause Recently I reformatted my computer. I of course made a copy of my Starcraft II Documents folder to transfer to my new system. My original system format was Windows 7 64 bit, I am now using Windows 7 32 bit. I now get 2 errors: 1. My Starcraft2.exe crashes after a game is finished with an "Out of Memory" error. 2. Starcraft 2 tries to take control of my sound. When I have it alt+tabbed, and load up an application that uses sound, there will be none produced from that program until I tab back to Starcraft 2. I would like to know if there is anything in the documents folder that would cause something like this from a 64 bit -> 32 bit switch, or even just a new environment, period.Wicked3 Oct 16, 2010
Oct 16, 2010 Plz help, Game keeps crashing. Recently SC2 has not only crashed my comp but also shut down the machine and i don't know why. Has this happen to anyone else? This was not happening to me during the first couple of months since the games release date. This is really reached the tipping point for me ad it HAS lost me several ladder games to the point i no longer play ladder.Aiser2 Oct 16, 2010
Oct 16, 2010 Game Freezes on Exit Starcraft 2 constantly crashes whenever I click exit game. I've tried logging out before i exit the game, but the same problem persists. I can't even ctrl-alt-delete out of the game as my whole computer just freezes up and I need to hold down the power button and shut down my computer to really get out of the game. I've tried repairing the game, but nothing seems to fix the game. Any help is appreciated.Pandamonium4 Oct 16, 2010
Oct 16, 2010 Can't connect to Battle.Net I'm unable to connect to Battle.Net. A message pops up saying the service is awaiting a response from Battle.Net and then says if it can't connect in the next few seconds then the B.Net servers may be down. Well, there's nothing in the B.Net Status forums. I've tried everything in the tech support page including uninstalling Norton and configuring my Windows 7 firewall to accept the SC2 ports but still can't get it to connect. Any ideas? I can't even play offline for this game I threw 60 bucks down for. EDIT: It should be said that I was able to patch everything with no problems at all.Falkon7 Oct 16, 2010
Oct 16, 2010 New nvidia Driver framerate issues After a while of not updating drivers, I installed the nvidia 258.96 driver for my GTX 470. Now i have framerate skipping in large battles, where it is unplayable. I did not have this problem with my older driver. :(Jinkad0 Oct 16, 2010
Oct 16, 2010 Terrain texture corruption Windows 7 Pro 64 XFX Radeon 5870 / 10.9 drivers / latest DirectX installed Intel i5-750 4GB RAM In the past week or so, I played two dozen quickmatch games, two of which had severely corrupted terrain textures. The maps were Scrap Station and Jungle Basin. This is a screenshot from this latest game: http://yfrog.com/3zscreenshot2010101516455j I have not yet overclocked my system. No other games have any graphics issues as far as I can remember. There are no overheating issues in my system (graphics and CPU below ~65C at full load). This started happening no earlier than two weeks ago. I've finished both the campaign and played over two hundred games before then. I did recently install the ATI 10.9 catalyst suite (up from 10.4) so these drivers could be the problem. ------------------ System Information ------------------ Time of this report: 10/15/2010, 23:05:07 Machine name: VLAD-PC Operating System: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (6.1, Build 7600) (7600.win7_gdr.100618-1621) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: System manufacturer System Model: System Product Name BIOS: BIOS Date: 05/24/10 21:26:24 Ver: 08.00.15 Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU 750 @ 2.67GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.7GHz Memory: 4096MB RAM Available OS Memory: 4094MB RAM Page File: 1491MB used, 6694MB available Windows Dir: C:\Windows DirectX Version: DirectX 11 DX Setup Parameters: Not found User DPI Setting: Using System DPI System DPI Setting: 96 DPI (100 percent) DWM DPI Scaling: Disabled DxDiag Version: 6.01.7600.16385 32bit Unicode ------------ DxDiag Notes ------------ Display Tab 1: No problems found. Oct 16, 2010 Game freezing during online play I tried to play a 3v3 with my friends last night, didn't go so well. About halfway through the game (10 or so minutes in), my gameplay became so choppy it was impossible to play. Stop, start, stop, start, repeat ad nauseum. I'm running Windows 7 64 bit, an AMD Athalon Dual Core 245 Processor, 4Gb of memory and have dual NVidia 9500 gt video cards, my hardware is decent, not bad I wouldn't think, so why am I always getting these issues? I generally keep the setting around medium because I want as smooth gameplay as possible. Can I get some help? I really hate not being able to play online, as story mode gets boring after awhile.Hevyyd6 Oct 16, 2010
Oct 16, 2010 I can see myself disconnecting I can play most games for about a minute, or until I send a message, in which case my screen switches between "Waiting for players..." (with MY name in the list, strangely) and "Waiting for server." After about 10 seconds of that, it drops me, but it doesn't force me to log in again and I don't see any "connection to battle.net lost" messages so I didn't disconnect from battle.net. Anyone have any ideas why this is happening? It started last night, and had not happened for a few months, but it DID happen right after the game came out and for a couple of weeks.Brian12 Oct 16, 2010
Oct 16, 2010 Latency Issues I had been playing on satellite internet for some time and have been experiencing (as you might expect) horrific latency. Today I switched ISP's to a local point-to-point wireless service and played a handful of games this afternoon, all of which were as smooth as buttery silk-butter. This evening it has returned to its normal laggy state and I am at a complete loss as to why. For reference: On satellite latency was approximately 800 ms to us.battle.net On point-to-point latency (this afternoon and presently) is 50 ms. I am using a rudimentary network monitor which indicates that packet loss is less than 0.5% which I don't expect is problematic. Halp!?qartar4 Oct 16, 2010

Oct 16, 2010 "There is nothing to download." I've had a few issues with Starcraft 2 crashing when I choose to play against AI while connected to Battle.net. After I select a map, the game will crash. After that, I could restart the game, select "Play Offline", and click "Play vs AI", and I could play as much as I want against the AI after that. After the game, my build order had skewed numbers. It would read that I built my first probe over 3,000 seconds into the game. Tonight I tried to download a new patch, and it would error at 99%. Twice. The error recommended reinstalling the game, so I uninstalled the game, logged into the Battle.net site, downloaded the downloader, and now I have a message that I perceive to be an error. Here is the error: http://www.subxero.phatcode.net/forum/images/633.png I am on Windows 7, 4gb RAM, ATI 4800 series card. I don't have any firewall, proxy, or antivirus services running. I am using an administrator account. I plan to reinstall the game using my DVD, and use a patch that I've downloaded elsewhere, and hope that works.Brunt0 Oct 16, 2010
Oct 16, 2010 Dual Gpu/Crossfire fps drop some maps, FIX! *UPDATED, i found the real cause and solution to this problem. Don't have to disable catalyst AI ;) I can use both my gpu's now. Update in my reply below IF you have a dual gpu card ( HD 5970, 4870X2 ) or any type of Crossfire configuration this concerns you. Starcraft 2 does utilize dual gpu/crossfire very well on some maps. I get 160+fps Ultra on some maps with my 5970. Then when i try and play Lost Temple i get 60fps at all times, thats 100+ fps drop!. So some maps are bugged for crossfire / dual gpu setups! How do i know its dual gpu/crossfire to blame? When i Disable Catalyst AI, i get 80-90 fps on ALL maps including lost temple. Problem goes away. So i disable one gpu, and my FPS goes UP on lost temple? I am using catalyst 10.9 5970 i7 930 @ 3.8ghz windows 7 I guess for now all us hardcore gamers that spend the most on our hardware are gimped and have to run off one gpu. Please post here if there is any updates to this problem, as a possible fix or something in the works from bliz or ati/amd/nvidia concerning this problem. This problem is not based on what graphics card you have, not based on ur CPU or MB. This is simply a problem with SC 2 bugging with more then 1 gpu on some maps. My advice to blizzard. We are getting superb performance from our dual gpus on some maps. So just figure out the difference between those maps and the bugged ones everyone seems to play ;/ I have tried all fixes suggested including catalyst drivers 10.3 -> current. Only fix that works is disabling my 2nd gpu. But just setting terrain to medium is a much better fix IMOWidowMaker23 Oct 16, 2010
Oct 16, 2010 Problem applying patch 1.1.2 I was able to download and play the patch just fine until earlier today my computer crashed, the desktop did not load properly, and I did a system restore. Now when I try to start up SC it says that I need to download the patch, which is fine I guess except when it gets to 100% the patch just restarts. I have tried running as an administrator and it didn't work. When I tried to manually download the patch from their support section. Once it was completely downloaded and about to run it gave an error message saying it was unneeded as the game was up-to-date, yet when I start up SC it still tries to DL the patch. I have never had a problem downloading patches with my antivirus scan active so I don't see why that would be the problem. Any ideas would be appreciatedRichard5 Oct 16, 2010
Oct 16, 2010 Mouse issue I've read through some posts around the net and a couple people seem to have this problem...but I haven't seen a fix that's worked for me. I just set up my computer to run to my TV via a DVI to HDMI cable. Everything seemingly works fine at the moment. That is until I run StarCraft II. At that point, the visual aspect of the mouse stops working. It seemingly sits in one spot. However, if I move the mouse around, I can actually see the highlighted buttons activating. It's as though the mouse only works in the background. I tried lowering my resolution, I tried making the game resolution and the TV resolution identical. No success. Any ideas from anyone? Oct 16, 2010 Unacceptable FPS I am looking for any help. I am running the game on LOW and getting 0-10 FPS in 3v3's. Yes, I have seen "0" as my fps. After a few minutes I average probably 4-6 fps and if there are any battles I drop to 0-3. Specs are: AMD Phenom II X4 810 Processor 2.60 ghz 8.00 GB Ram DDR3 Windows 7 64Bit Graphics card Radeon HD 4650 - I have tried every driver from the past six months. Nothing makes a difference My friend has an older AMD, 4 GB DDR2, and Radeon 3650 and he runs constant 40 FPS. Can someone help me? I am near the point of uninstalling the game.forrestgump2 Oct 16, 2010

Oct 16, 2010 Issue since patch 1.1.2 Okay, before the patch I could play the game on high settings reasonably well, with lag spikes once in a while, so I downgraded to medium settings and had perfect performance. The only issue I ever had on those settings was once in a while when the battlenet service itself was being problematic. However, I was playing single player campaign, no issues, and patch 1.1.2. released and it told me to log out and install the patch. So I finished my mission, and did just that. Since then, my single-player games cannot go above 6 fps, where they were a minimum of 28-35. I've tried this online, connected to the battlenet service (which I have had issues with, and suspected of being at fault), and offline... and unfortunately have had the same results either way. The fps was mostly 4 fps, and there was no way I could finish a single game that way. This is bad, I paid for an effective and playable game and service, and have had problems with both. Minor issues that go away (like an hour or two of battlenet being useless) is one thing, but the game is literally unplayable since this patch for me and I'm pretty tired of this lack of quality from Blizz. Anyway, point is, major technical issue, literally cannot play the game anymore. I hope this is fixed very soon. And I'm not even going to try a multiplayer game, since someone will be screwed over by such an experiment if the game operates how it is in single-player.UDarkLord1 Oct 16, 2010

Oct 15, 2010 Getting dropped from games. The internet connection where I am sucks from time to time. It will go out and cause me to disconnect. Yes, I know this is my problem however..... Sometimes Im able to re-establish the connection my self and resume whatever game I was playing, only to be dropped seconds later (i know i reconnected because i received/sent chat to friends) After being dropped I am told that my login info is incorrect and it sends me back to the login screen causing me to drop from whatever game I was in and result in a loss.... How can I re-establish the connection and prevent myself from being dropped from the game? Is this possible?AGIANTSMURF0 Oct 15, 2010
Oct 15, 2010 Missing Game I noticed this a few days ago where my League Wins on my Profile Summary tab is different from my League Wins on my League Summary tab. My Profile Summary tab reports one more win, and in fact one more game played, than my League Summary reports. I have only ever played 1v1 and I am not sure where this discrepancy is coming from.
