Sep 24, 2010 My new build is on the way. What do you think In processing and shipping right now are the following parts: Core i5-750 Quad Core 2.66ghz 8mb L3 cache 4GB DDR3 1333 ram GeForce GTX 460 1gb 256-bit GDDR5 and all the rest of the stuff I'll need to build this desktop.. I'm hoping this is gonna be a very noticeable upgrade from playing SC2 on my laptop. Hell, with any luck I might be able to play on high or maybe even ultra settings.. Which beats the hell out of chugging on all low/off settings and minimum resolution. You guys think this stuff will do the trick? What is everyone else building these days?shaidarharan8 Sep 24, 2010
Sep 24, 2010 Just beat the campaign, no achivement. I just beat the last mission of the campaign. On the single player screen it claims I've beaten the campaign, and it says 26/26 missions completed, however I did not receive any of the achievements for beating the game and my multiplayer profile says I haven't.Phamain3 Sep 24, 2010
Sep 24, 2010 Can't access any multiplayer after 1.1 Ever since the 1.1 patch, I can't play multiplayer at all. My avatar does not show up on the screen, the multiplayer tab on battle.net shows nothing except for a blue loading swirl, can't access any multiplayer statistics or ladder info. I can't play any ladder or custom games at all for the past week. I don't believe it is an ISP problem, because my roommate is able to play multiplayer without any problems at all. Is there any known solution for this?Blorb10 Sep 24, 2010
Sep 24, 2010 Blue Screen of Death I was creating a single player VS A.I. game. I had chosen Steppes of War, then I decided against it. I went back to the map selection, clicked Blistering Sands, and... BVVVT. Blue screen of death comes up, tells me something about dumping RAM to hard disk, then my computer turns off. This is the first BSoD I've ever had on this system. I've had it for a while now. I thought Windows 7 didn't even do the blue screen.GXSigma1 Sep 24, 2010
Sep 24, 2010 Loaded New Patch Now Can't Load Old Saves So yeah. I got the newest patch and when I go to play, it says I have to use the older version to continue my saved games. It attempts to load but once it gets about 7/8s it freezes and I have to do the ol' alt cntrl delete and bring up the task manager. Then it kills all the sound on my comp and I have to restart the whole system. Especially frustrating because during the week I work in northern Alberta Canada with a not so great wifi connection and I can't even play offline. So I can only play the game on the weekends and now I have to start over. Man, lame. Terry1 Sep 24, 2010
Sep 24, 2010 Crossfire still not working? So I got a second 5770 the other day and I'm getting random fps drops like mad when I enable crossfire. It seems to be dependent on the map. Delta Quadrant and Xel'naga Caverns work beautifully with over 80fps and never a dip below 60, but lost temple will lock me at 15fps if I use the minimap or a hotkey to jump to a location. I did some research and got pretty much nothing other than stuff about the old drivers (10.7) in 2 month old threads. Well since these threads are a couple months old we are on 10.9 now and I'm getting the same issue people were then. Is there a fix for this yet? It's pretty ridiculous that someones computer can be too good.Deschain1 Sep 24, 2010
Sep 24, 2010 Disable Auto-HD space check on install? The game is installed and works but I just have a quick question/observation. When you insert the dvd to install it checks your HD before you see anything related to the installation of the game to see if you have enough room for it. Now, normally this is done partway through the installation of the game when it asks you what directory you want to install it to and the installer checks the path to see if there is enough room. The problem I had is that I have multiple drives on my system for septate things and I actually partition the drive that my OS is on to be small (12 GB) to keep backing up/updates easily manageable. The SC2 installer auto-checks C: as a default for drive space and won't let you continue until it detects that there is enough space on C: to install and then it will allow you to choose the directory to install it too. I had to delete a system update and some other software in order to get the 2gb that SC2 wanted to detect on C: As I have my registry set to a different default path for my program installs, the issue has to be with the auto-detect on the dvd. Is there a way around this feature of the installer?CGO1 Sep 24, 2010
Sep 24, 2010 Sc2 'unplayable' post patch 1.1 (Framerates) Greetings, My PC is old however I have had no problems running the game pre patch.. (I'd have some slowdown @ 200/200 but never any freezes/pauses/stops like I do now) Anything over ~60 supply on the screen will just cause it to freeze and stutter, making playing impossible. I always play on the lowest possible video settings barring the resolution. Sep 24, 2010 Strange lockup with crossfirex Ever since I got another ASUS 5850, Starcraft will randomly freeze up when ingame. I have no problems running any other games, crysis runs fine for hours. This isn't a heat issue. I've tried a clean reinstall of my drivers, starcraft, and even my sound card for the heck of it. This problem is solved by disabling CF which allows me to play fine. I have CCC and CFP 10.9. Specs. Windows 7 x64 i7 930 D ASUS DirectCU 5850 CF Creative Fatality SoundcardSoulxReaper4 Sep 24, 2010
Sep 24, 2010 2 Games. 2 D/Cs that... Broke my internet? Hey. First time playing after the patch in multiplayer. First game about 5 minutes in random disconnect, but I hung around on Skype for an extra few minutes. Every computer on my network lost connection. It comes back up after 2-3 minutes. Second game, about 10 minutes in, another random disconnect. Only what's strange is, this time, Skype stays up. I can access a few webpages that I know off the top of my head, but most pages won't load. Example: yahoo.com works, google.com doesn't. I could list several more examples, but you get the idea. I was able to stay connected to Skype this whole time, and another computer on my network could stay connected to Ventrilo. But I couldn't login messengers, etc. After about 10 minutes of the disconnect, I was frustrated and exhausted several attempts of releasing/renewing the connection in my Router. Eventually I did a cmd-> ipconfig /release & /renew. It came back up after that, not sure if it was coincidence or what though. It seemed directly related to the game, as obviously are "entire" internet connection didn't go out, and I'm otherwise completely stable 24/7. Thoughts?Phaymous3 Sep 24, 2010

Sep 24, 2010 Missing map-patch-solution I was suffering from the missing single player map-post-patch problem. I went into multi-player, create game and noticed a little icon in with the map preview. Sep 24, 2010 Patcher Problems. Blizzard Employee help!! So I've always have been having patch problems. I've been able to fix them in the past luckily, but with some annoying work. Now this time it's completely different, when I click on the SC2 icon, the patcher comes up and I can see the patch notes. It says "Updating..." and "0%" with nothing on the bottom bar. And then nothing happens. Currently on windows XP. Disabling Norton worked for me last time, however it has no effect on it now. Blizzard please help!Gemini30 Sep 24, 2010

Sep 24, 2010 Please Help, I can't play with this framerate I am running an AMD 9100e Quad core 1.8 GHz, 6G ram, Nvidia 9600 GT vid card, (512) windows vista 64 I get really bad framerate, usually 60 or so in the menus (never higher than 60) and ingame multiplayer it goes anywhere from 0-40 fps, usually hovering between 15-20 fps. I've been reading the forums for days looking for a fix because I know my machine can run it well. I played it on my dad's computer that has a 128mb card and got 70-90 fps I've read that Nvidia is causing problems so I updated the drivers and now the framerate is worse with even more choppy gameplay. This is saddening me as I just want to play on an even field with normal fps. Can someone please look into this issue and help me out?Boggie11 Sep 24, 2010
Sep 24, 2010 Cannot get into game at all "StarCraft II requires a patch. Would you like to download and install the patch now?" This message is prompted with "OK" and "Cancel" buttons after displaying a small loading-logo of the game. Sep 24, 2010 A small issue. please help Hi, Ok so a friend and I have been playing 2v2 on a team for a long while now, we managed to get to 1st in the bronze league... and were trying to get to silver league.. Now all it says is we need 5 placement matchest, which doesnt move mind you, weve played about 20 games since this came up and its still saying we need 5 placement matches. However when I look at mine or his profile it still says we are first in the bronze league. Can anyone tell me whats wrong, how to fix it or maybe how to rank up into another division? Thank you Jeff1 Sep 24, 2010

Sep 24, 2010 Time Limit Option I'm not sure if this is the correct thread for this type of suggestion, but here I go. With the next patch upgrade is it possible to have a user create a game with the option to save the current multi-player game in progress and finish it at a later time? I know you can resume a game but I and others don't feel like keeping the game/program up all day. Just a suggestion.TheGreatIam0 Sep 24, 2010
Sep 24, 2010 SC2 with nvidia vison 3d So 3d works with the depth settings dropped to 15% and 0% respectively but as soon as i start to up the convergence the buttons at the bottom of the options just fly off the screen The effect in game is the same with the right 1/4 of the screen on the left edge of the monitor and vice versa Any descriptions of what these settings actually do? the fact that sc2 forces 3d on at all times means if settings don't work out I have to use the task manager to close the game because in game with convergence set past 25% i get nothing but a black screenLTmalreynold0 Sep 24, 2010
Sep 24, 2010 Cannot Log on to Battlenet I have been having problems with SC2 since the 1.1 patch. After the patch was applied, I was able to log on once. However, at the time, I did not play any game so I don't know if everything was actually working. I did try to replay a game from a week-old replay file that I had. I got a message saying "this version of starcraft is incompatible with the replay file, load previous version of starcraft?" I responded yes. At that point Starcraft crashed. Since that time, I cannot log on to Battlenet. After I enter my account name, I get stuck on a screen that says "the game is awaiting a response from battlenet, the service may be temporarily unavailable or your internet connection may be down". It stays stuck on that screen forever and never prompts for a password. I have left it there for up to 15 minutes hoping it would eventually connect, but it hasn't. This has been going on for several hours. I can play in the offline mode. However, performance seems very sluggish, much slower and choppier than before patch 1.1. I'd appreciate it if someone could offer suggestions on how to fix this problem. NOTE: 1. Operating System: Win 7 64-bit 2. I did turn off my firewall to see if that had any effect. It did not. I still cannot log on to bnet.Xenofon4 Sep 24, 2010
Sep 24, 2010 SC2 Crashes on username since patch 30 hours ago starcraft worked fine. Now everytime I enter my username and hit connect the game instantly closes. I have no rules on it for firewalls or virus scanners. The patches are downloaded and applied. I tried reinstalling, repair, and downloader tools to check for more updates. The game simply crashes every single time I hit the connect button on the login menu. Can I assume I am done doing things and its something on your end. Or did the patch change so much I need to change something on my computer I don't know about for it to work now?Reavis9 Sep 24, 2010
Sep 24, 2010 Is blizzard going to make a statement? Or leave us in the blank unable to play. The least they could do is let give us a timeframe for when they will patch these errors. I cant even play any more. I have noticed multiple errors, the most concerning of which being that i cannot play AT ALL. Seems like they would test for these kinds of things before releasing a patch. I get a video card error before the game opens up - never happened before. The game has crashed a few times trying to access the menu. I dont know why fixing a few balance issues would completely ruin my ability to play the game. When i attempt to play competitively, i dont even get a "searching for players" indicator. It just sits there as if nothing has happened. Im running on a macbook. I know this is not optimal, but up to this point is has worked flawlessly. @blizzard: if your going to !#** me over, at least have the gumption to tell me. I like playing this game that i spent tons of cash on, and should be able to continue to do so. Your Q/A team blowsKevin20 Sep 24, 2010
Sep 24, 2010 HELP PLEASE! I can't open my custom game now! Unable to open archive (Your StarCraft II installation is corrupt. Would you like to run the Repair tool now?): C:\Documents and Settings\****\Mes documents\ZombieParty.SC2Map After a couple of weeks of hard work, I finally made this -awesome- custom map with heros. Then I went to the "repair" in SC2 file and it said after "scanning" " no probleme were found " or something like that. What can I do?? Sep 24, 2010 Problems minimizing Starcraft Well I can't play starcraft right now because the game crashes when I click connect on the login screen every time, but when I could actually play I had a problem with minimizing the game. Any time I alt-tabbed out, when I clicked the starcraft box at the bottom left of my screen to get back in to the game, my mouse would jump to my desktop background and I couldn't bring it back to the grey bar at the bottom of the screen. After about 10 minutes (when it's obvious the game isn't actually going to pop back onto the screen) I am forced to open task manager and close starcraft (which says "not responding"). I've had this problem since the game came out. Does anybody have similar problems or a possible solution?Tiktaalik1 Sep 24, 2010

I can see normal friends just fine its just all my real id friends are gone. I thought this might have just been a problem with real id not working temporarily but its still broken. So today I thought I would log into wow just to check real id and same thing there. Hildolfr0 Sep 24, 2010
Sep 24, 2010 Steady Crashing after patch-ACCESS_VIOLATION I never had any issues with crashing before the patch. Now my game continually crashes. It has crashed in all modes: ladder games, custom games, campaign, and challenges. I am running Windows 7 64x. I've tried a few things that have worked with other games, setting SC2 to run on only 1 processor, changing priority, nothing seems to keep it from crashing. It seems like some other people have been having this issue as well. I've submitted a crash report each time (probably over 10 so far). Anyone with similar issue found anything that worked?Soilantgreen12 Sep 24, 2010

Sep 24, 2010 Login issues after new installation/patch. I just installed SC2 again because I had to reinstall XP SP3 onto this machine. After downloading all the updates, installing all drivers, etc. I installed SC2 and I can't even log into BNet. I type in my name, then SC2 just freezes and does nothing (in which I just open task manager and end the process). I tried looking for some random culprits. It's not my firewall, it's not DEP, and it's not cause my computer can't handle it (seeing as I upgraded recently to play it better). Any ideas? Also, while I did DL this off Blizz's website since I had already activated it, the DL was REALLY slow and maybe might have been messed up, so I used the "repair" tool to see if anything was wrong with the installation and nothing was wrong.Fryhan1 Sep 24, 2010
