Im using the Razer Deathadder 3.5 @1000dpi and I was wondering what mouse pads would work good with it. Currently I've looked at Razer Goliathus (speed), SS QcK, and Puretrak Stealth. Jul 7, 2012 Computer Cooling Issues Playing SC2 I just picked up a copy of SC2 yesterday, and while I'm enjoying it, I've noticed that my computer gets very hot while I'm playing - hotter than when I'm playing anything else. I can run Skyrim, Diablo 3, WoW in a 25 man raid etc. all at ultra with no problems, but SC2 just seems to heat it up more than anything else. While doing a long campaign mission, I noticed that I suddenly was starting to get some visual lag and a bit of screen flickering. I assumed that was stemming from video card overheating, so I saved my game and quit immediately to let it cool off. I plan to lower my video settings and see if that helps, but I would like to play on ultra if possible. I built my computer myself, though I'm still quite a computer noob, and I don't know much about where the heating issue could come from. My best guess is it's my case's fault. It has the power supply on the bottom on the case rather than the top, and while that's great for balance and all, it makes it so my power supply fan and my video card fan are blowing in to each other. Would a better circulated case solve my problem? Luckily, I have some extra money on hand so I could afford to order a new one as long as it's not too spendy. If that is the case (haha... It's a pun!...), what would a good replacement case option be? Preferably mid tower, as a full tower wouldn't fit in my desk. Here's a list of some of my parts in case that helps: Case: Cooler Master Elite 430 (Mid Tower) Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 560 Ti Power Supply: Corsair 600-Watt Gaming Series GS600 Processor: Intel Core i5-2500K (with stock fan/heatsink) Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 Intel Z68Kormex3 Jul 7, 2012
Jul 7, 2012 Buying a new desktop—will it play ultra? http://www.frys.com/product/6966047?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG This looks appealing for the price and also because its pre-made. Now, I know the graphics for this are nothing. I would obviously buy a graphics card. My ideal budget is $250-300, but I'd be willing to go up to $400 at max. I want to play SC2 at ultra (very) smoothly. Heck I'd shoot for Extreme if that's even feasible, but probably isn't. So I want to know what are good, compatible graphics cards? I am also probably going to buy extra RAM. I know very little about building computers, so for me, this is a compromise between fully building my own comp and buying a completely pre-made one.GlVlWarriorX2 Jul 7, 2012

Jul 4, 2012 DayZ Streaming Because why the hell not. http://www.twitch.tv/tomsonx#Tomsonx0 Jul 4, 2012
Jul 4, 2012 Streaming with 2 computers So I recently decided to buy a new computer and decided to go with the lenovo x220T tablet. While I believe this computer could stream fine by itself, the intelHD3000 isn't exactly a powerhouse, and may put more stress on my laptop then I would like. I also have a Desktop, but it definitely isn't up to streaming by itself, but It can run the game on medium with no problem, which is exactly what I want. The graphics card is only a geforce 8600gt, but it runs well on medium. My question is, If I buy a blackmagic shuttle will I be able to stream the content from my laptop and play the game on my desktop without suffering any problems through the low-end graphics card on my desktop. I can post information if requested Thanks in advance!Cheater3 Jul 4, 2012

Jul 4, 2012 How's this laptop look? So I have made multiple threads asking about new computers because I'm starting to get tired of the lag on the one I have now. I have finally decided that I might actually want a new laptop rather than a new computer that way I can bring it with me to places. I didn't want a real expensive one but maybe just one that can run low/medium with no lag. How does this look? The reviews said it runs other games well but I wanted to here from you guys. http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-A53Z-AS61-15-6-Inch-Laptop-Mocha/dp/B007MW13PA/?tag=amazons0d8-20Phantom2 Jul 4, 2012
Jul 3, 2012 Went from 2 monitors to 3 And now I lag like crazy in game. (Used to play all all maxed settings) Now I have to play on all low settings with textures maxed out still. I've also downloaded a few other programs since then, but just xSplit and displayfusion. Could any of these things caused my ginormous lag spike? I have an i5 at stock settings (it's unlocked, I just don't know how to overclock :P) And a His Radeon 6950 on max settings And 8 gigs of ram. Is it the hardware or the software? What do I need to do to fix this issue of mine? Please and Thank you.Greasy4 Jul 3, 2012
Jul 3, 2012 A New Laptop Hi everybody! I'm getting a laptop that will serve as my all-in-one for schoolwork and play. I already have one I'm looking at for $630, but I wanted to ask people who might know better. 1.) It must be a laptop 2.) I do not want a build-your-own recipe 3.) It must be under $800 4.) I would like a quad core, not an i5 with two cores. 5.) I do not need anything to run on High or Ultra 6.) I don't want to run stuff on low. 7.) I also want to be able to play minecraft, and I think that needs a decent graphics card right? The $630 has: Processor: AMD Quad-Core A8-3520M Accelerated Processor (2.5GHz/1.6GHz, 4MB L2 Cache) *question: what does 2.5GHz/1.6GHz mean? RAM: 6GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm) Drive: 500GB 7200 rpm Hard Drive Graphics: AMD Radeon(TM) HD 6000 Series Discrete-Class Graphics [HDMI, VGA] *since it is a series, I have no clue exactly what I'm getting. *Ask.com gave this answer: the 6000 series belong to the amd a4,a6,and a8 series. the amd a4 has 512 dedicated graphics and up to 2 gb shared graphics. the amd a6 has dedicated 1 gb graphics card with up to 2 gb integrated graphics, the amd a8 has two 1 gb dedicated Graphics card with up to 4 gb shared graphics. *I bolded the a4 because they will probably put in the cheapest one. Can anyone beat this for under $800?Zanon9 Jul 3, 2012

Jun 30, 2012 Laptop Advice I'm about to get a new laptop to take with me to college this year and am looking for something that will be able to play games such as SC2, GW2, D3, etc., and I would like to spend around, preferably a little less than $1000. At the moment I'm looking at these two laptops which are on sale up until the 4th of July and was mainly wondering if the more expensive one was worth the extra money or not or if you guys knew of any better deals. Jun 29, 2012 Help / Feedback wanted :D. buying a new pc. Hiya All, so I want to get a new computer but I have very little experience in that field. Basically my budget is prolly somewhere in the 1k-1.5k range, i would need a monitor and keyboard as well but im not too worried about that. this is what i have in my head so far Graphics: pretty set on a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670. Seems like the best high performance bang for your buckc ard out there. obviously a little pricey but i want this computer to run everything smoothly for a good while and be able to fraps etc... Processor: Oh god please help me here. I've heard so many different opinions on this. Since this is a gaming computer are i5s better than i7s? does the processor really make that big of a difference. A lot of the computers I am looking at have something like a intel i7 - 3820 processor. Is that good or bad, well it hold back my graphics card? I really need suggestions here. Ram: most likely gonna get like 8gigs. I'm assuming thats plenty for a long time to come, correct? Every other part including where to buy it I still ahve no idea. I'm even willing to build it myself if it's doable for someone with limited knowledge but the ability to follow instructions. Help me plox :D.Wolflink5 Jun 29, 2012
Jun 28, 2012 New Laptop So, I'm buying a new laptop. I want it to be able to run SC2 at the recommended capacity. Any suggestions? Most I can spend is probably 700-800 dollars. Try to keep it to a down low.Samysterio8 Jun 28, 2012

Jun 27, 2012 Has anyone heard of Achron? I just recently learned of this game and was wondering if anyone else know of it. It is a RTS that was released last year with a gameplay mechanic that focused around time. E.I. If your army were out of place and was attacked you can go back in time(max seems to be 6 minutes.) and move your army before the attack took place so you could be ready for the incoming attack(or attack before they do.), but you have to be careful as the opponent can do the same thing. Main site : http://www.achrongame.com/site/ Someone casting a game : https://www.youtube.com/user/Shadowfury333/featured Sure the graphics are no-where near SC2 and it seems that the A.I pathing is closer to that of SC:BW, but its time based gameplay has me intrigued.Necromancer0 Jun 27, 2012
Jun 26, 2012 Will this comp be able to run sc2 on low/med? Specs: Gateway DX4850 Intel Core i5-2300 processor 6GB of DDR3 RAM (expandable to 16GB) 1.0TB of storage 1GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GT420 VIDEO CARD (VGA,DVI AND HDMI PORTS) I'm not too good comp specs so I thought I'd give it a try here. Will this comp be able to run sc2 on low/med without lag even at late game 4v4? Also, if the problem is the graphics card, what would you guys recommend I replace it with? Jun 26, 2012 Diablo 3 Forum Issue I can't post on the Diablo 3 forums because of this This account has limited posting access due to the following condition: This game license has expired or been frozen. It makes me use my WoW account (atleast the avatar) on the D3 forums and I see people with SC2 avatars instead, I was wondering if I could make it so its my SC2 avatar instead of Wow and if it would let me post?ShaggySham4 Jun 26, 2012
Jun 26, 2012 Youtube To me it was a toss up between putting this topic in this forum or in the entertainment one. However, since this is probably where the most skilled computer folk reside, i'll post it here. Anyone having a problem with youtube where videos sometimes 'move' to the right a little bit, and part of the screen goes black, and some of the video (and the right side controls) disappear? I know i'm probably late on this, but it's been going on for a month. Originally I thought "Oh, they'll fix it real soon" but that hasn't happened. I'm using chrome on windows 7 btw.Lohengrin1 Jun 26, 2012
Jun 26, 2012 Streaming problems I'm having trouble steaming SC2 / T:A. I've looked over 23478056280457 guides on tweaks and whatnot for stream for FMLE and Dxtory and xSplit. I just can't seem to stream without lag / FPS drops. I have an i5 2300t / GTX 550 ti / 1.5 tb hd / 6 gb of DDR3 RAM. I should be able to stream at least around 720, I can stream SC2 around that fine. If someone could email me so we could go over a couple things I might be able to do that would be awesome. [I don't come to these forums too much] [kylemurray57@gmail.com] Also installed the custom "TITAN INI" file. Helped a little but still not playable. Thanks to anyone who can help me. <3 -KEmNKhonsu0 Jun 26, 2012
Jun 26, 2012 League of legends hacked? I was playing league of legends and just won a ranked game until the servers crashed. i had no idea what happened and next thing i knew, the NA server was down. I checked the website and it had a logo of gragas emptying his beer into an ocean saying come back later. I knew this logo was previously used in a past hacking to riot in July 2011. Does this mean another hack in the NA riot servers has begun?DEmonicACE207 Jun 26, 2012

Jun 24, 2012 looking for a new headset Recently I raged after a recent loss, I threw my headset at the ground. I managed to fix it, but now it occasionally cuts out in 1 of the sides, which then forces me to have to tilt my head around until it works again. In any case I really need a new headset, I was thinking of getting the Razer Carcharias. I looked around a bit and the cheapest one I've found near me is $90, should I purchase this, or is there a better value headset I may be able to get?FluffyZerg10 Jun 24, 2012
Jun 24, 2012 Set Hotkeys On A Logitech G300 Gaming Mouse I recently purchased a new Logitech G300 gaming mouse, and installed the software and everything. I'm not reporting a bug, but I'd like to know if it's possible to set my mouse's G5 button to "A + Left Click", so that it automatically attack-moves where my mouse is currently. I can't currently do this now because when I go to "Multi Key" and record, it won't register my left mouse click. By the way, in the home menu, I am using "Automatic Game Detection". Thanks in advance.DownRight5 Jun 24, 2012
Jun 24, 2012 Advice on a headset I'm looking to buy a gaming headset, having grown irritated with my iPod headphones and built-in microphone. I have an iMac, but I play all my games PC side (obviously), so it needs to be compatible. Ideally, I'd like it to be wireless (but still reliable), though I don't know how much extra that would be, so it's not a necessity. Needs: -Comfort (fully covers my ears. When I had headphones that were too small, they made my ears ache after too long) -Built-in microphone -High quality Someone recommended the sennheiser pc360. Are there any others I should look at?SliK2 Jun 24, 2012
Jun 23, 2012 Mouse Suggestions Hey, I'm looking for a new mouse to replace my recently broken one. I want something fairly lightweight and not too small. I want it to have a definitive click and I also would like it to be for a palm/finger tip grip formation. The mouses (yes I said mouses :D) I've tried a few and the Logitech G5 and the old Razer Imperator are the ones I'm most impressed with. I like how the Imperator feels and its weight and I really like how the left click of the Logitech feels, its very defined. If someone can suggest something between the 2 or one of the 2. Thanks.Tassadar2 Jun 23, 2012
Jun 23, 2012 HP Laser Gaming Mouse with VooDooDNA Hi, I just recently picked up Starcraft 2 and I have the gaming mouse stated above, but unfortunately it doesn't work in Starcraft 2. When I say it doesn't work I mean the 2 side buttons won't work. I have one of the side buttons set to Ctrl and the other set to Shift, but when I try to use it in game it doesn't work at all. I can't bind any keys through them and in game when I try to use the Ctrl+F1 (using the shortcut button on my mouse) it won't do it. Basically the buttons are non-responsive in game and are just there for show. Can anyone help me out? I've gone in the HP support forums and I've found nothing there either D: Thanks in advance as always !Beergrip0 Jun 23, 2012

Jun 22, 2012 New Computer Advice As the title says, I'm looking to get a new gaming computer since mine is five years old, using *shudder* Vista and can't even play games like Battlefield 3 and Witcher 2 and am forced to run SC2 on the lowest graphics options. The problem is I know very little about computers when it comes to game requirements. I saw a computer that looks quite good and I would like advice on where it can be improved. I don't want the "best of the best" since I don't have tons of money to burn on a new computer, but now I'm rambling and I might as well post the specs and see what you guys can tell me. Jun 21, 2012 New Wireless Router I am looking to replace an old D-Link router. I've had it for 5+ years, and it loves to drop Wifi connections and be slow in general. I have been looking at general reviews and Asus RT - N56U and N66U have come up as being good. I have also seen Cisco E4200 and a Netgear router. I'm leaning towards the Asus routers, but I do not know enough to make a good decision. Any network experts out there, that would give me some good advice??Buffalufacus0 Jun 21, 2012
