Can I play SC 2 on different computers?

Technical Support
Hey, I'm just wondering if I can install the same starcraft 2 game on different computers with the same authentication key as long as I use the same battle.net account? Leaving home for a week and would like to play a little SC 2 during the trip.
StarCraft II does not require an authentication key to install. You can install it on any PCs that you use but you need a valid account to log on, and you can only log on at one place at a time.

i have an account one a computer in the house. but i just bought a new laptop and used the same disk that i used on the fisrst comp. but it wont let me long on why is this? if we dont use the athenticatoin key?
same problem man. I had it installed on my laptop, but that machine is gone, so I wanted to play it on my desktop. It doesn't allow me to log on, and essentially implies I need to purchase a new (60 dollar) key to play my same account on a different machine. Anyone know what to do? It seems ridiculous that I can't log on
Have you tried repairing the game files? The files may not have installed properly so that might be preventing login problems. Another thing to check is to see if the computer is behind a hardcore firewall and virus protection program. Try disabling one or the other (preferably the virus protection program, not the firewall) and see if those help, if not, keep trying!

I hope this helped.
See you in game!
so am I able to use the same authentication key that I used on my old computer on my new computer? or do i need to buy a new copy of starcraft to play on the new computer with my original account.
You don't need an Authentication Key to install on another computer.

ok that is good that i dont need to buy another copy. i installed starcraft 2 on my new computer but it will not allow me to play. the patch downloaded. then another patch downloaded afterwards continuous until it gave up? why is this not working?
The computer that you're trying to install it on might not have open ports for SC2 or it could be that you're using a version of Windows that needs to give the game "Permission" from an administrator to the computer. Try to see if any of those things are a possibility. Also check and make sure you have the computer set to allow the program to run. Sometimes games will update and start to launch but shut down completely afterwards. Another thing to look out for is whether or not your firewall is blocking the program as stated above, as well as a virus protection program. A key thing to note is whether or not your new laptop's drivers are up to date, I'm sure you can find those easily by searching for your specific laptop+driver updates in the google taskbar. I hope this helps in some way!

See you in game!
My wife is installing with my cd on her laptop, she is creating her own account. Will be both be able to play at the same time online? I feel like i know the answer to this already :P

Yes, LoCeD, as long as you each have your own account, you can play together :)

As many as you want.
How do you do it though. Cuz I'm doing the samething...
Just run the installer, Click install. If you're prompted to register your product you can press the skip button as you have already done this part. Once your game is fully installed and updated you can log in using your username and password that you have made when you first got the game.

Copy and paste the entire SC2 directory. Move it over to a new Hard drive or USB drive or some external source.

I keep a backup on a USB thumb drive and play from any computer i want. The install makes no changes to the registry. you cna install, play from any computer or source you want anywhere in the world.
I got a new computer, don't have the disk or cd key. I downloaded game client, then signed in using my battle.net account. When I go to battle.net it shows that my game status is active...but it won't let me log in.
