Dayvie is out today, so I'll be making the post in his honor. Please see his update below:

Zerg
The Balance Test Map will come out next week, and since the changes are very small, we’d love to aim to patch one or both of the changes that will be tested. Let’s focus on the changes to the balance test map this week.

After completing these small changes, we should be able to gauge how they’ve worked out, and then discuss potential further moves as needed.

Ultralisk strength
We’ve heard the community’s feedback and worry that when the early game Zerg is stronger in Zerg vs. Terran Ultralisks may become an issue in the late game. We will definitely keep a close watch on this. The popularly suggested armor nerf of 1 or 2 points post-upgrade seems like a solid suggestion.

Common questions from the Ladder Revamp announcement
Let’s go over a few things that many players have brought up in more detail:

Separate MMR per race
As we’ve mentioned before, this will be one of the top priority items that we’ll start working on once the Ladder Revamp goes live.

MMR vs. Division Points
These numbers are different. Division points are points used within the division to calculate rank. They also takes activity into account through the bonus pool system. MMR, on the other hand, reflects the current skill of the player.

Promotion progress bar
We wanted to clear up that this bar shows the progress within the current tier that the player is in, and not the league. For example, if my progress bar at Diamond 3 becomes full, I will move into Diamond 2.

How Grandmaster demotions/promotions work
Every day at a set time, players on the border of GM will be demoted out of GM and be placed into a new “Contender” ladder. The remaining players who will fill out the Contender ladder will be the best Masters-level players whose MMRs are high enough to have a shot at getting into GM that day. Once the contender ladder is filled, players can play games to try and raise their MMR for 3 hours. After the 3-hour mark, all promotions will happen simultaneously to fill up the empty slots in GM league. The Contender ladder is located within the Ladder tab of the Profile, and will refresh every 5 minutes. Any player logged into StarCraft II can view its player listing and follow the competition to see which players might make it into GM that day. We also removed bonus pool accrual from GM league and replaced it with an activity requirement of 10 games every 3 weeks.

General Comments
As we've discussed before, the main goal for this ladder revamp pass was to have a better sense of accuracy and transparency. This is why we're displaying MMR, adding League Tiers, refreshing the GM league daily, and the progress bar towards promotion. We also have aesthetic changes we're currently working on that you can look forward to such as: new promotion fanfare, updated league badges and portrait borders, or new division banners. We still have a lot more info to come, so thanks for working together on this feature with us.

I am really excited about this ladder revamp!
The queen buff will also help against oracles, idk about the spore buff though.

About damn time. No more noobs getting promoted to GM and then leaving infinite games to stay in.

Can we get profile banners for our main profile like we once did? I remember once you were able to choose out of a dozen banners for your profile, but it was removed. This option shouldn't have ever been removed, it was a great reward system to have aside from portraits/decals.

Can we stop dancing around the issues and simply address them head on? The general consensus is that the liberator is a bit too strong. Can we simply address that issue and give terran a complementary buff such as make more than Marine marauder Liberator viable?

This hesitation and reluctance to make meaningful changes or to use test maps to experiment is leading to frustration in a lot of players. Be more bold, look at WOL and HOTs when there was no meaningful balance changes the game got stagnant and players got frustrated. We are starting to see that happen now. Don't focus so much on balance, make the game fun and diverse and then balance accordingly.

I'm very critical of Blizzard balance decisions, but I have to admit that this week's feedback has been very good to read. Looking forward.

Thanks for finally addressing ultralisks. Now there is only tempests left to address!
I would be so happy to give Zerg a spore and queen buff if it meant a nerf to ultras. It was really good to see ultras finally get mentioned in an update!!!
They consider to buff the spore crawler borrow in exchange for the ultra armor? Good trade off. It is time to fix the real problem in TvZ.
1. Zerg is not able to win pre ultras because the mid game compositions are to weak to attack into a terran. (maybe Ling Bling Muta with the larva buff)
2. Terran has a problem against ultra timings so maybe reduce the snipe cast time of ghosts.
3. Liberators are not the only thing that appears as a problem to Zerg. Its actually the combination of all things that Terran can do. High economy - 2 base all ins and every single one needs a different reaction.

I have a question. what are your plans on helping out zerg if the spore crawler buff or the queen buff does not help out enough?
other than the spore buff(s), what else is being considered for Zerg?

I've got a Question about the "new Grand Master": In the video you said that you want to use the new Grand Master System for the WCS Qualifcation. How excatly do you want to use it, if the GM changes every day?

Also how about the connection of Tier and Ladder Itself? When I'm Tier 1/ Rank 5 in my division, will I be also be one of the best of all Master Player?

Queen AA weapon range increase from 7 to 8

it definitely affects PvZ stargate or double stargate opening.
Spore Crawler root time decrease
is fair buff:
- Libs should be microed better but still can make damage
- don't change PvZ

However, I think 6 to 4 seconds is not enough; 6 to 3 seconds should work better.
Good to hear they finally make ladder more transparent and separate rank for races.

Division promotion depends on division points then? So its mostly a redistribution of the Top 10/50/100 system?

I assume the progress bar compares to all player in the region right? If I happen to be Top 1 of a mostly inactive division it would not make sense for it to only compare to the players in my division.

I am a bit confused.
Not meaning to take sides here, but why does it seem like the T that complains the most about Ultras are the ones who use Ghosts the less?
Ultralisk strength nerf YES PLEASE (just -1 armour though, and a buff against early-mid game terran is absolutely needed)

Contender Ladder N/A for me, I'll be Masters 2 or 3 (i.e. 3).

I look forward to this. The Marauder's nerf should have been plenty enough to help make Ultralisk more viable. However, 7 armor instead of 8 I feel might also help both sides significantly. As mass bio gains a lot of DPS per armor point the Ultralisk has less of.

You guys can start with 1 less armor and see how that goes. I just look forward to seeing mass Ultralisk not being over efficient for being so hard to kill.

I think this is a better change than reverting the Marauder as this helps TvZ more than ZvP due to Immortal+Archon being a good counter to them already. Reverting the Marauder may have returned the problems with them handling all Roaches and Stalkers too well.

As for the ladder revamp, I really look forward to it. I especially would love to see separate MMR soon after if that's possible. I am getting excited the more I feel like I can learn the other two races without having to spend more money or play on a laggier server.
