So I played all these went to vote and I tells me I have already voted... which I never did. Anyone else getting this?
Solar Right is the only one that I really don't like, Amon was harvesting from geysers that were simply not marked on the map for me to be able to stop him, especially in the early game. I ended up losing the map despite having more Solarite than Amon, I guess because he reached the arbitrary number (that you're not told) before Ramsey's truck decided to pick up and move over to the temple so I could win.

That's exactly what happened to me multiple times. The number is the same as yours: 750. If the enemy gets that much, even if you did already, you lose. I even had a game where I though we'd locked down all of the solarite nodes. Nope. Truck was at the final stop before moving onto the temple, amon gets 750. Loss- again. Never could finish Solar Right. My least favorite.
Great contest. Love all the entries...was so hard to vote for five!!

Amon doesn't mine from geysers not marked from the map, Amon just passively generates Solarite. Me and my Kerrigan ally (I was Raynor) wiped out the entire map, and basically had vision everywhere. There was no way that Amon could have gotten any Solarite, but he did all the same. We lost the same way as was described here.
Thoughts on the rest.

Construction Yard - I have mixed feelings. Having to take and hold several choke points is a mechanic very similar to Lock & Load, but the difference here is that there's no countdown timer to beat, it's just "hold these areas and don't let them fall." I felt that this map is overly simplistic in that regard. It also had a complication in that the AI defenses suck and are too weak to hold off even basic attack waves. On Brutal the map as-is may be impossible if the AI defenses don't scale well enough to keep up.

Cradle of Death - This was a very good map, good design and provided a new element of strategy in being able to pick upgrades for the payloads and control them directly. I have no concern over griefers exploiting this, anyone who wants to pull that crap won't need the payload mechanic to ruin your game. My suggestion though would be to give us some flexibility in how we tackle the four objective points. The Quillgor and Primal Zerg stuff is fine, but maybe another hybrid base is sending Twilight Archons at us and another is manufacturing Motherships, and every few minutes or so one of the four bases sends those specialist units at us. In tandem with the fifth guarding the expansion, we can now choose our targets to take certain enemy attack waves out of the equation. Alternatively keep it in the current format but randomize the type of enemies sent at us with each base to keep things fresh.

Part and Parcel - An interesting map, a combination of the train mission, the salvage mission, and the Odin mission. I like the idea to gather scrap to construct the Archangel, that it can be destroyed and needs rebuilding, and then it attacks. I'm just wondering what happens when you run out of scrap on the map and can't rebuild the Archangel anymore. Maybe some way to contribute workers or resources to its construction can help? Also, it lacks that umph, the very idea the Archangel just flies right to the objective doors and then attacks the shards was kinda lame. I'd more like to see it done similarly to the Odin mission where you and the Archangel blitz the enemy bases together.

Scavenger Hunt - Another "escort the hero unit" mission. This one was just eh. It had no real charm or uniqueness to it compared to the others I played before it. Christopher needs to go if this makes it in, he was just lame and I don't care about him. Replace him with someone like Tosh or Mira Han or someone, an established character we care about saving. Who even says it needs to be a Terran? Maybe it's Urun, that Phoenix hero from In Utter Darkness, he's still alive out there somewhere, maybe he crashlanded on the planet and that's why he wasn't in LotV. Beyond Chris, though, map is just kinda underwhelming, had no interesting mechanics or twists that made it fun. It was just "Chris periodically moves to this point where he'll fight a boss, clear the way for him and help him take it down."

Having played all 10 now, I think Primal Ascension, Cradle of Death, and Death From Above are the top 3.

Good to see another author here to take feedback and give explanations.

I'm pretty sure most in the top 10 are paying attention to posts and reviews :P. Just because they don't respond doesn't mean they aren't I don't see much point in rebutting peoples point of views on my map(Immortal Siege) especially since I can't change anything on it at this point. Some people say it's too easy (they probably didn't try in brutal tho :P) other people say it's too hard. Some people love the voice acting some people hate it lol.

My expectations are Primal Ascension, Cradle of Death, and Part and Parcel will definitely make top 5. The others I think are still up for grabs. I honestly didn't even expect to get in the top 10 and I'm honestly still not expecting to get in the top 5, but that doesn't stop me from being hopeful!

My Opinions:

Death From Above: Too basic, pretty, but basic escort. Even the chasm thing that spawns void units I just put a few cannons there.

Construction Yard: Objective can still be blocked by hold position should of made it flying! Having reapers spawn directly on the escort is a cheat! lol. Also annoyed by the unbuildable terrain near the outposts so you can't build static defenses to help protect them.

Part and Parcel: It's pretty cool and has trains! Part escort, part destroy/gather.

Primal Ascension: Phoenix are super OP in this, but still a fun map. Cannons around eggs handle the thresher(thrasher?) easily enough.

Cradle of Death: Is an escort with a twist, and is well polished.

Scavenger Hunt: Defense at start way too much. Glitches 50% of the time. Constructs don't scale as game progresses. Ship doesn't heal between waves or at least should have more hp because of scourges/yamatos. Upgrades after constructs should actually increase his stats or give him abilities!

Mercenary Business: Took 2 attempts to solo. Couldn't get enough money for any of the first 3 shipments and all I built were drones/hatcheries my first try. On my second solo attempt I knew where all the scrap was so that helped greatly and I never missed a shipment with over 15k minerals and 3k vespene at the end. When I played with an ally I still only built drones/hatcheries/nydus and had 8k minerals and 5k vespene after making all except the first 2 payments myself. It's pretty good, some commanders may struggle more than others.

Solar Right: Broken. Sorry to say I can tell it has a lot of work in it, but the expansion has too much defenses. Attack waves are waaaay too frequent. Your forces are forced to spread all over the map to protect all the gather points, even with nydus worms at every point was still challenging sending gathering it and protecting it. This was the only map I couldn't solo I went broke just taking out attack waves.

Armory Retaking: Was slow. I know they could change this, but it was pretty slow. The upgrades to the odin were cool, but he never got to shoot anything :(. At least he recovers his health after each escort point! But still just a escort.

My map(Immortal Siege): Flawed surely, but I still can't help but love the concept which is why I made it :P.

Of course saying any of them is easy is kind of pointless since most of them default to normal.
Actually, Immortal Siege and Solar Right default to Hard for some reason. Perhaps that's why I had such a hard time with it. That, plus I don't usually rush objectives that quickly; those Ultralisks just kept on coming and rising from the grave!
Immortal Siege defaults to normal last I checked. Scavenger Hunt and Solar Right default to hard that I noticed others may as well, but if it was on hard that definitely would up the difficulty Torrasque spawn stronger on higher difficulties :P. They also spawn faster and revive faster. I intentionally ramped up difficulty since the contest was for normal. If host changed the difficulty of enemy AI that would change the difficulty as Easy AI = Normal Co-Op

lol and it should be said in Altered Beast style "Wise from the Gwave!"

Same, I'm reading everything but some things it feels pointless to respond to now since it's out of my control. Also a lot of the top 10 authors are in the sc2mapster discord and chat about it there.
Another Torrasque has spawned, and it's headin' straight for us!
In-Ter-Cept It!

XD Gets me every time. Loved the voicework.

Mercenary Business: One of 2 maps I couldn't solo. Objectives lie! It says don't miss 3 payments I missed 2 unless vespene and mineral payments at same time are separate? Couldn't get enough money for either of the first 2 shipments and all I built were drones/hatcheries. When I played with an ally I still only built drones/hatcheries/nydus and had 8k minerals and 5k vespene after making all except the first 2 payments myself.

Objectives don't lie. Both resources means two shipments, Mira says it clearly. About soloing it try on casual. Even I am not able to do it on nomal alone (I got close though).

Alright I edited my post and tried again to solo on normal (since these should all be doable on normal :P) having previous experience on the map greatly helped. I never missed a shipment and had lots of money to spare in the end so it's beatable!

Nice to hear! :)

PS: Intercept-it!
lol

I checked just now for good measure. Defaults to hard when I create a game. The same applies to Solar Right. All others default to normal, assuming they even have a difficulty slider to begin with.
I've played all 10 maps. There are 3 recurring themes:

1. Almost all the maps are too damn long, with Cradle of Death being the worse, clocking in at 32 minutes. Mercenary Business, Scavenger Hunt, Death From Above are also too long.

2. The maps Solar Right and Construction Yard are too confusing. It is not clear what you're suppose to do.

3. Many maps have weird and unpolished mechanics and UI, which should be cleaned up for release if they win.

Here are my rankings:

1. Armory Retaking: Very good and polished.
2. Immortal Siege: Very unique map. I like the attack and defend mechanic. It could use more polish. Annoying announcer.
3. Primal Ascension: Good map. Bosses can activate before timer? Bosses have strange nonstandard health bars. What's going on with the eggs was unclear to me.
4. Part and Parcel: Good map. Collecting is less fun, and Void Shards should be replaced by something else (there's already 2 Void Shard maps).

Construction Yard: Very confusing, bugged by having 3 players when I played it.
Mercenary Business: Boring and long.
Scavenger Hunt: Way too long. Very standard escort.
Death from Above: Too long. The gas mechanic is not fun.
Cradle of Death: Way too long, too many weird things (special hybrid attack waves, nonstandard UI elements, what is that payload?)
Solar Right : Extremely confusing. No idea what is going on.
Do you have to beat the mission to get the tickets? My favorite is the odin, archangel, and dheka map.

The two maps i despise the most solarite and mercenary. I can especially see why solarite only have two stars. Mecenary was decent but that map was pure annoyance.
