Co-Op Mutation #150: Moving Fees

Co-op Missions Discussion
The nuclear generator that powers the battlestation has exploded, causing Amon's unprotected forces to burst into flame when slain. This also means that your forces are applying special anti-radiation packs that allow them to fight in the radiation, but require constant replenishment, which drives up the cost of operation. Make every move count to bring down the battle station.

Map: Cradle of Death
Scorched Earth - Enemy units set the terrain on fire upon death.
Micro Transactions - Giving commands to your units costs resources based on the unit's cost.

Notes:
  • The cost to micro a unit is its supply count times 1 mineral and 1 gas. For units that cost only minerals, the cost to micro is the supply times 2
  • Buildings, top bars, and the Artifact Truck also cost minerals to use.
  • Even hero units like the Hyperion and Kerrigan cost resources to micro. Fenix notably costs only 1 mineral to micro.
  • Auto attack does not cost minerals, so static defense should not cost anything to work.
  • Once you run out of resources, you will continue to be able to micro your existing units and workers for free! But... you can't make any more units until your gather enough resources to make them again. [Best time to set rally points and move Overlords is right after you make your first worker, before the workers return with their first harvest]
  • Apparently if your ally leaves, you can micro his units completely for free.
  • Air units are immune from Scorched Earth

  • Didn't work for me. Played Artanis with Kerrigan ally leaving immediately. Moving Kerri's units still costed resources. OTOH, 4base muta army w/ guardian shell made things easy.

Fenix and Karax should be really good commanders. Simply build carriers and rally them to an observer. That way you can move your entire army for 1 mineral + 1 gas.

Down with carriers! Hero solo all the way.
    Micro Transactions boo.

    Skip.
I picked Tychus my ally Kerrigan (hero only). Wanted to go Zeratul cannon style again but the synergies between kerri and tychus seemed better to me for this week and another week of cannons with Zera seemed a bit too much.

Overall worked out really well. Kerrigan can provide early detection/super mobility with the worms and Tychus (rattlesnake) has good healing for Kerrigan. Later I added Sirius and didn’t use more then 3 heroes the rest of the mission. Not a hard or challenging mutation but more annoying but with this combo it didn’t really feel that way. Looking forward to next week.. that seems way more challenging and fun to me.
Yeah, for easy time I recommend heroes only. Make some static defense if you're too lazy to even come back. Otherwise the entire map works just like a normal mission, which I know can be a little rough with a poor ally but isn't that always the case.
10 mineral and 5 gas to command each Tychus' Outlaw? Yeah, I will stick with him this time.
Karax carriers are very good here, just rally all of them behind the first you produced
I vote for Dehaka as COTW. With his three pack leaders he is awesome. He is also detection and you can revive him very quickly.

The cost to micro a unit is its supply count times 1 mineral and 1 gas. For units that cost only minerals, the cost to micro is the supply times 2
For hero units (including Tychus outlaws) and top bar it is fixed to 10 minerals and 5 gas per order. Didn't try Fenix, maybe it's some kind of exception or bug. Ordering Abathur's Brutalisk cost vespene even if it was morphed from roach.

Maybe it was so, but now I had resources taken for ordering ally's units. (Trigger now use "Player, who issued order" instead of "Owner of unit" to take resources from)
    Hello everybody,

we did our weekly Video, with my buddy playing Stukov and me as Dehaka, winning on our first try and even getting one bonus objective:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T9tQzvHYG5I

Our reasons for choosing these 2 commanders were the potential for little to no micro, a good balance between defense and offense and they're fun to play, too!

Hope you all enjoy the video and if you have any remarks, please leave us a comment!
Chose Dehaka for this, was enjoyable. My buddy, as usual, played Tychus and followed the '3 Outlaws only' recommendation on these forums.

Cradle of Death is my least favorite map. We just ignored the bonus.
Anyone noticed that rallying air units from buildings seems to be a bit inconsistent?
Sometimes I have to get units to follow the leader again, and it's not just units getting interrupted with spells, it seems to happen sometimes with newly created units once they have moved to the leader's previous placement.
Once an encampment has been cleared, it seems like I always need to pick up a few lazy carriers BCs etc
    It's a bit of a pain.
