We need more Co Op missions

Co-op Missions Discussion
We haven't had any new co op missions for quite a while.
When will we be getting new co op missions?

quite a while
That's putting it nicely. Last new map was Cradle of Death, released on June 19, 2018.

I think it's safe to write off new missions unless they do another RTC. Is there any more mission types left to pull from the campaigns? Best I got is the first refugee mission/its escort style but that's just Malwarfare with back tracking.
Not quite. The Ariel Escort mission is more like Oblivion express, but your guarding the train instead.

Would be neat still.
We don't have any primal zerg missions yet.

You referring to theme or mission style? If mission style then the first Zerus mission is just The Vermillion Problem, the second is just TOTP, third is a Hero mission that wouldn't translate to co-op.
Blizzard needs to find a way to monetize new missions without upsetting the majority of co-op players. I am pretty sure that it takes a lot of effort to make a fun mission that feels unique from the existing pool, while accounting for 17 different commanders.

One mission that I think will translate well to co-op: Flashpoint from the Nova mission pack.

-Players pick the siege order of enemy base to remove certain units/hybrids from waves.

-Can implement separation of offense/defense roles. With enough ambition, I think they can even implement separated bases idea, but it can work either way.

-Pretty sure that far less people have played the Nova mission pack vs. main campaign missions, so it'll feel pretty fresh.
What do you prefer ? A new coop mission or revamps to the currents ones (like cradle of death) ?
I just want a kill everything map with no time limit (Ex: a co-op version of the first Epilogue mission in LotV) and I think it will probably be the #1 most played map in co-op.
Well, I'd still be psyched for a Mission where you rescue Warfield from that WoL campaign, or its equivalent (old thread here....)

I haven't been in Coop for that long, but AFAIK, people may be harkening back to the days where we got new stuff (missions, Cos, updates, and other content) on a much more regular basis. FWIW, we are at a point where there are so many permutations of COs, maps, and playstyles that the total number of unique games is staggeringly high, vs. adding a new CO or map when Coop only started off with only 7 COs, and (IIRC) 8 missions?

That said, it WOULD be nice to have a new mission, although it's only a matter a time before some of us manage to play the hell out of it with all COs, and we're right back to square one :O

Wouldn't that be covered by Mist Opportunities (protecting Stetmann's Harvester Bots, including Gary)? Granted, I'd welcome another variation of it. Missions like OE and Void Launch, it almost takes the fun out of it when players just spawn camp.
Missions from Nova Packs were awesome. I'd prefer Co op to revolve around some choice makings =)

I mean possibly, I would do it personally like this.

Instead of guarding a bot going to new areas.

Your defending a single convoy path. Same start and end, with the encroaching enemy pushing into it. Maybe forced detores lator on.

I made "Operation: Brainstorm" as a mission that's based on Eye of the Storm from the original StarCraft, where you have to destroy the Overmind. Unfortunately it wasn't selected for the top 10.

Another idea I'm toying with is a mission based off "In Utter Darkness", where after completing the main objective and the bonus objective, you have the option of either leaving right there and then with a victory, or seeing how long you can hold out before your base is completely overrun.

I don't think maps like Eye of the Storm will work in coop here. The bases are too far away and players cannot help each other. Maybe separate bases could work if, let's say on a vertical map one base is on bottom left and the other on bottom right, and both expansion bases are together in one spot around between where both players join forces and fight their way up.

Try to make a co-op version of the first Epilogue mission in LotV, or something similar with a powerful boss unit players have to kill at the end to win the mission. You can make the boss become more powerful with each bonus players complete. That way players can choose to speedrun it or do all the bonuses and fight the most powerful form.

If mission style then the first Zerus mission is just The Vermillion Problem

Vermillion Problem is a remake of WoL mission where Tosh was the quest giver.

When will we be getting new co op missions?

Previously they were releasing one map and one commander nearly or totally same time. Then they understood people pay them only for commanders not maps, so they stopped putting effort in this. Long ago I had a talk with someone of Russian SC team in the comments on YouTube russian SC channel. And he said straightly that they are only paid for commanders that's why they are not interested in maps. He was polite of course and used a lot of clever words but that was the point.
So we got 2 commanders with no maps already. I am not buying 3rd till we get 3 more maps. Seriously. I call you act the same.
