vkRaiNboW solution with terminal seems to have worked for me!! Thanks!!

Turned out it's not totally working for me, however, the rate of disappearing mouse seems to be decreased with that setting.

btw it's not my solution, I got it from Tony.
Thanks for the feedback on this all. We've sent this up to our team for review, and I will keep you up to date on what is going on for this, mmkay?

Thanks!

In hotkeys, Global>Camera>Drag Scroll
unbind that sucker.
Hi SoulWager,

Does doing this in hotkeys prevent the mouse cursor from disappearing? Let me, so I can add this to my feedback to the team. Thanks!

it did for me, maybe the other people here can test to confirm it solves both types of disappearance.

unbind that sucker.

Tried this, would not work for me.
Hello,

I would like to report that I am having this problem as well. It has happened over and over again during ladder matches, which is extremely annoying. I try my best to finish the matches but it's nearly impossible without seeing my cursor.

I personally have an ATI 6850 with 3 monitors. Here's my hardware information: http://pastebin.com/PQ6NaDPq
Thanks for the feedback about this all. I'm adding it to our reports and hopefully will find out more soon.

I am having the same problem. I have updated drivers and software, also using MagicPrefs.

I would like to note that I have been searching other forums, apple support, /r/techsupport, /r/battlestations and other general nerdy forums online. There has not been a solution.

As far as I can tell the apple support forum is getting updated more frequently then others besides this one. Pics to prove it happened.

http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/58912-3-mouse-cursor-disappears-fullscreen-mode

This also does not seem to be a apple specific problem, more of a multiple monitor problem

As I play quite frequently, I just unplugged my monitors to avoid the problem. I am using a usb to dvi adapter w/audio. As this solved the problem of the ghost mouse ( you can use your mouse but you can't see it) it leaves the external monitors as paper weights.

I have a iMac and Pc (office) and mac book pro and encountered the same problem. What strikes me is that this seems to be a common issue and yet I could not find anywhere online a solution. Yet people boast on forums that they game and have multiple setups. Like how does Destiny do it (I checked website didn't find anything) or other streamers...That would seem best way to find out. Yet still no answer.

TL;DR : Problem is common, search the inter-webs for answers. =)
Claire is on the right track for this for the disappearing mouse. This seems to be happening when using dual displays and having the old "confine mouse cursor" option enabled.

You can try to do some terminal commands to always use the new confine cursor option: http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/forum/topic/3558806572#4

The mechanical sheep with a heart of gold...
If at first you don't succeed... call it Version 1.0..
I've been having this problem for about a week and its insanely annoying during ladder games. I often have it disappear when Im trying to attack or defend and scramble to either minimize and refullscreen the game, or do a sudden pause which pisses my opponents off because they were also attacking or defending and then they immediately unpause and Im stuck without my mouse again. This then leads them to think I was just pausing to screw with them. So they BM and start throwing insults but because I will most certainly lose this mouseless battle they rejoice and laugh in my face more.

Id like to try the solution in the 1.4.2 cursor thread but Im unsure of which option Im suppose to use to fix it.

Am I suppose to revert to the old method (which never caused my mouse to disappear). Or should I be enabling a new one that fixes some other issue??

MacPro 2.8 8-Core
ATI Radeon 5870
Dual 30" Dell Monitors
OSX Lion 10.7.2
Logitech MX Revolution Mouse
Try using this option:
To always use the new confine cursor in both fullscreen and window modes type or copy/paste this in Terminal:
  • defaults write com.blizzard.starcraft2 useClampProcessInFullscreen -bool YES

  • Make sure you have the SC2 fully closed. You have to shut down the game first, enter the terminal command, then start the game again.

I was having mouse problems today using dual monitors, and the line above fixed it for me:

defaults write com.blizzard.starcraft2 useClampProcessInFullscreen -bool YES
Cool. Thanks for giving feedback that it worked for you :)

Since there are some limitations of the OS we have to work with, we thought it be best to give users a way of customizing this option for your best experience.

Does not work for me anymore, since the introduction of patch 1.4.2 :)
My mouse will disappear at least once during a game, it's really frustrating, Blizzard, first the FPS drop in 1.4, now the Disappearing mouse in 1.4.2, please do something...
Any word from the support crew on a workaround? I've just started playing and I'm experiencing this issue. I'm using an early 2011 MBP 13" model with a Logitech M505 wireless mouse. I hope you guys fix this soon.. I'm itching to play. :(
The workaround shoudl work. I tested it myself. You will need to make sure you are doing the workaround when StarCraft II is closed. If you do it when it's open, the changes will not work.

Try doing this in Terminal (/Applications/Utilities):

To always use the new confine cursor in both fullscreen and window modes type or copy/paste this in Terminal:
  • defaults write com.blizzard.starcraft2 useClampProcessInFullscreen -bool YES

Ah thanks Machkhan! It's working for me on both the windowed full screen and full screen mode. However, I wish that players didn't have to put this line of script in at all. I hope a fix for this can be added to the next patch. :) Thanks!
