Can you confirm whether or not you're the orb from the HDH1?

Very good advice...I think the title is misleading though as you're not in diamond yourself...
You would think the OP would at least be in diamond XD .

Yeah.....

So why would coaches coach at a pro level if they can't play at a pro level...you make no sense at all. Good info is good info regardless of the writers skill.

Huh?

I'd like to know why the servers gods won't promote me even though I have a 58% win percentage and am in the top 500 plats, in terms of points, in NA.

Some of the diamond noobs I play against make me facepalm.

promotions either take a super short time or a super long time. i got promoted to diamond in 1v1/3v3/4v4 quite quickly, but in 2v2, had a 70-80% win percentage and was in top 10 plat in terms of points and couldn't get promoted. Literally, every opponent i was playing for 7 straight games was rank 1 diamond arranged team (and i was random team in plat). I ended up losing 7 matches in a row, and then got promoted after winning 1.
Not to sound rude but imo, playing few more actual games and watching replays are more productive(way to get better at games), than reading the walls of text.
I am talking about guides and walkthrough for "gaming" in general.
You truely learn only from playing.
I read the thread and fully acknowledge OP's effort though.
I think you meant the title to read "Four Steps to Gold"

Wow. lol

OP - pretty good... a bit wordy, but fairly well written and touches on a bunch of important topics.
If you're looking to improve it, turn it into a website and add tips with replays for things like micro. As I say, it touches on lots of subjects, but it doesn't really explain specific techniques.
Nice read, Orb. Gave me some ideas to practice. I bump for great justice.
Way tldr.

Steps to diamond:

1) Buy game
2) Install game
3) Run game
4) Don't be brain-dead

It's 4 that trips up most people.

Congratulations on being the only Troll in the bunch that actually said something funny. +1.
I'd go with

1. Pick terran
2. Learn to research concussive shells and stim
3. go mass marauders , marines
4. A attack into your enemy base and use stim at the start of the battle.
