Lag and Latency after the 2.0.4 Patch

If you're experiencing Laggy play after today's 2.0.4 Patch, the Launcher may still be downloading content even if it is stating that the download is complete.

You can check for sure in Info > Connection Information

If everything is downloaded, it will say:
There is no download in progress.

If it already says this, please create a thread, and we can troubleshoot further.
Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm PST
There are also other Options on the Launcher that may help while content is still downloading:

Options > Downloader Preferences

Check this:

Allow quick play regardless of network speed
By checking this options you can start to play more quickly and
continue to download game data while you play. If you have low
bandwidth your game performance may suffer.

Uncheck this:
Enable Peer-to-Peer Transfer
In some situations, you may need to disable Peer-to-Peer

If you are currently unable to wait for this download to finish, you may want to fully close StarCraft II and complete the following steps:

        1. Locate the Variables File
        First, you must locate the Variables.txt file on your system. Follow the steps below for your operating system.

                Windows Vista/Windows 7/Windows 8
              • Click Start (Windows Key + Q in Windows 8)
              • Click Documents (Type documents and press Enter in Windows 8) and open the StarCraft II folder.
              • Open variables.txt.
              • Windows XP
              • Click Start.
              • Click My Documents and open the StarCraft II folder.
              • Open variables.txt.
              • Mac OS X
              • Open Finder.
              • Hold down the Option (Alt) key and select Library from the Go menu.
              • Navigate to ~/Library/Application Support/Blizzard/StarCraft II.
              • Open variables.txt.

        2. Add the Following Text
        In the Variables.txt file, add the following line to the bottom of the text document:


        3. Save the File

Once you’ve fully downloaded all background download data or have completed these steps, background downloading should no longer impact your gameplay experience.
