FPS Huge Issue 30fps 8gb i7 2,6 650gt IN LOW!

Mac Technical Support
Since patch 2.04 or 2.05 can't remember well, the FPS on the osx client as well on windows 8 were drastically lowered.

I were too lazy to post before, but now with HotS launched and the issue not resolved I think it will be good to know what's the status of that?

I get only 30 fps all on minimun (inclusive resolution)

I have the most powerfull macbook pro in the market today... I was having 100+ fps on ultra before.

Is there anyway to fix this? I have to play on low osx for 30fps and low on windows8 for 59fps.

And yes, I'm using the discrete graphics.

I would rather go back to patch 2.04 that having this crappy fps.

I too have noticed a huge FPS drop in the latest update on my Retina MBP. I haven't installed any OS updates, so it can only be related to StarCraft updates... :(
nVidia *still* has !@#$ty drivers on Mac. My almost 4 year old ATI 4870 on my 4 year old Mac Pro still runs SC2 on Ultra.

Apple even stopped using nVidia cards for a while, but evidently they promised to fix their drivers, and then lied again.

Since it's a Macbook, your best option is Bootcamp, because nVidia's Windows drivers are fine.
Have you also reset your SMC to see if it helps? A lot of players have reported that resetting your SMC often helps after an OS or game update.
Resetting the SMC helped me with all FPS issues just minutes ago - literally went from 15fps to 70fps.

This was on a new 2.6 GhZ i7 retina macbook pro and osx 10.8.2
I am really glad to hear this because I have the same Retina set up and frame rate was not all that great when I played for the first time last night.

What resolution are you playing on? With what graphic settings to get 70fps?

I figured it was an SMC issue because I have to do that regularly for my BootCamp games to work correctly.
Apple yesterday (03 - 21 - 2013) update fixed the issue and my fps went from 20 to 200 in all games, both Mac and Win platform.

Just update, problem fixed.
I have just installed the update after experiencing the same issues as the above posters. My FPS did not improve however, it is still around 17, when in the past it was over 100 with the same setting

Update: I just reset SMC after the update and I am still getting under 20 FPS on Low setting when I was getting much more less than a week ago. I also play World of Warcraft, and I have no issues on there, only for SC2.

I have a Mid 2012 Retina MBP
