4d CROWDS on Twitter - Episode IV: A New Season Following the success of this community-based support initiative, we've decided to kick off another season leading up into BlizzCon at the start of November. Like last time, players will have a chance to sign up for CROWDS, an Android-based mobile app tied to our Twitter channels, enabling them to see and respond to questions and calls for help from fellow members of the community. Just like with our technical and customer support forums, our goal is to provide a platform for exchanging additional advice, which should be particularly helpful for players experiencing problems outside the business hours of our social media teams. Nov 12, 2013 Recruit a Friend - Promotional Information Hey folks, With the newly re-released Recruit a Friend promotion we've seen a lot of folks interested in the upgraded program. If you have questions, many of them may be answered in the available Support Articles and Blog. Please make sure that you have reviewed them prior to creating a post. :) Recruit a Friend Program Blog Recruit a Friend In-Game Bonuses WoW Recruit a Friend Link Problems No Rewards from Recruit a Friend Recruit a Friend Video Not sure if you are linked? You should be able to check one of two ways. Summon Friend: Invite your friend to a group. Select and right click on their character portrait and you should see the option to summon them. This will only work for characters on the same realm, of the same faction, and who are under level 90. Experience bonus: While grouped, you can check to see if you are receiving the experience bonus by looking in the combat log after you kill a mob. You should see (You gain X experience (Y exp Refer-A-Friend bonus). Characters must be grouped, within 100 yards of one another and the mob killed cannot be considered trivial to either of you (trivial is usually considered gray or more than 4 levels below you). Note: If you have confirmed that you are not receiving the in-game benefits make sure to have both accounts (the Veteran and Recruit) log out completely (of the game and of the Battle.net Desktop app if you are using that). Wait about 5-10 minutes before logging back in. You can also try creating and deleting a new character and/or try changing your password. That can force the account to update and may help resolve the issue. Rewards: Mount/Pet and Game Time rewards will be available 7 days after the recruited account adds the qualifying game time. Apr 25, 2013 Multiple Security Locks? Try this! We've been receiving reports from players who have been experiencing repeated account locks due to "suspicious activity" and we wanted to provide what steps we could to help get you back in the game and/or access the WoW Remote app. Generally, if our systems detect a change in your normal access pattern (i.e. how you connect to the game and services), it may temporarily lock the account and require you to reset your password. This password reset provides a simple verification that validates the play session and allows you to access the account and game. Some players who are using the mobile app have recently been getting locked out even after the session validation/password reset. If you are experiencing this issue, please follow these steps: 1. Make note of the platform (game or mobile) where you received the lockout message. 2. You have two options to unlock the account. a. The first is if you attempt to log into the account, you may be directed to a security check page. There you'll be able to enter a security code sent to the registered email address for your account or answer your security question. b. The second is if you click on "Can't log in?" and select the My Battle.net account is locked option. There you will be prompted to enter your account name and then to answer your security question or supply a game key from your Blizzard retail box. 3. With both methods you'll be sent a code to the registered email address on the account. Entering that code verifies your access and unlocks the account. 4. When logging in after unlocking the account, log in using the same device that you encountered the lock on. This will ensure that your device is authenticated, and reduce or eliminate the chance of being locked from this device again. If you experience frequent lockouts otherwise not associated with this specific situation we highly recommend using one of our additional options for account management and security. The SMS Protect feature is available to those with a standard cell phone in a supported country with a data plan. This feature is available for free (standard text messaging fees would apply) and allows you to manage your security options for the account. Specifically it will send a code to your phone that you can enter on the site and unlock the account instead of resetting the password. Note - if you experience issues when clicking on the Add SMS Protect button on that page, you can still apply SMS Protect, by logging into your account and choosing the security settings. To find those options, choose 'Account' from near the top of the page. There in the middle of the account screen you will see options for adding SMS Protect and the Authenticator. We also have available the Battle.net Authenticator. This comes as a mobile app which is available for free as well as a physical device which is available through the Blizzard Store. This security option is taken into consideration by our systems and while it may not eliminate all lock outs, it can greatly reduce them. Nov 2, 2010 Account Recovery Form Items missing? Characters transferred to realms you haven't even heard of? Being asked for an authentication code even though you don't have an Authenticator? If any of these questions match the ones you're asking yourself right now, your account might be compromised. Now, don't panic. Blizzard Entertainment's Customer Service teams are here to help you. There is no need to create a trial account to be able to submit an in-game petition, nor are you required to have a friend submit one on your behalf. To restore access to your account as quickly as possible, please visit our Account Recovery page and be prepared to verify your account information. With the introduction of our new Account Recovery Process, you should no longer be required to try calling or e-mailing our Billing & Account Services department to remove an authenticator that may have been placed on your account without your authorization. All you will need to do is fill out our Account Recovery Form. How does it work? Consider this your “One-Stop Shop” for reporting a compromised account. We'll ask you a series of questions that only you should know the answers to. After we are confident that you are who you say you are, our automated recovery process will take over and attempt to restore your access to the Battle.net account as soon as possible. This aspect of the account recovery process is similar to the password retrieval system, as it will send a password reset email to your account’s registered email address. 1d Missing characters after transfer Just a quick note on this folks - this continues to be a thing for some. If you've done a transfer and it looks 'done' - but the character isn't on your new realm, creating a new character on that realm should force your list to refresh. Dec 23, 2015 Spotlight On - Guild Management and Security Guilds have come a long way from the days when a "guild bank" was one or more characters who stored all the items gathered and utilized by a guild for leveling and raiding. The introduction of Guild Banks allowed guilds to share resources with one another more easily and gave Guild Leaders more control over their guild. No matter the size of your guild or how many bank tabs you may have purchased, it is important that you guard against those who may take unintended advantage of the permissions given to them. Remember that the Guild Leader has sole control over maintaining the integrity of their guild and guild bank by limiting who is given access to the guild permissions. As a Guild Leader, take some time and go over the permissions you have granted to each rank. By inviting a player to your guild and promoting them to a specific rank, you are granting them certain access and control. For example: If you have promoted a guild member to a rank that is able to invite/kick, they could remove all guild members that were at least one rank below them. How to set up ranks for your Guild How to set up Rank Permissions It is especially important to monitor who has access to the bank. If you give a rank the ability to access all or just some of the bank tabs, they are able to remove whatever item they wish to based on those permissions. How to set up permissions for your Guild Bank It is also important to keep overall account security in mind. If a member of your guild is compromised (hacked), it is likely during that time that any items/gold that the character has access to could be vulnerable. You can help protect your guild bank from such scenarios by requiring any rank that has access to a guild bank tab to have an Authenticator. Blizzard Authenticator FAQ Guild Leaders and members who have invite permissions should be wary of any players claiming to be a guild member’s “alt.” Be sure to take extra precautions before inviting these characters or giving them bank access. Guild members should exercise discretion when joining a guild and when choosing to contribute to the guild bank. Any item or amount of gold deposited into the guild bank may be accessed and removed by anyone with permissions to do so. 34m Party World Instance Issue Three of us have been questing together throughout Legion. We are on the same realm, in the same guild and party. At random one of us will go out of phase with the others. We all need to leave party and relog before we can see each other again. Is there any way to lock a party into the same world instance? 3h Guild Name Not Right for RP Realm? I am currently part of a guild that is being forced to have their name changed. The reasoning behind it is the only part I have an issue with. This guild is on a ROLEPLAY Realm. However the guild follows the basic guild naming rules and has nothing provocative within the name however we are being flagged for it. I want to know how the naming of a guild changes based on if it is a RP realm vs a PVE or PVP realm. The reasoning is that I simply can't find anything on it. 3h Can't purchase subscription, Acct. broken 3 weeks ago I tried to re-activate my WoW subscription like I have off and on for years. As usual, as soon as I placed my order at battle.net my account went to the "Subscription Successful!" screen. I logged in to my account and was able to to see all of my characters higher than level 20 unlocked as normal, and logged in to my 93 Prot pally and was able to walk around in SW for about 2 minutes when I was suddenly booted from the server. When I logged back in I saw that once again all of my chars above level 20 were "unavailable" and my account had reverted back to a trial version. I tried a second time to purchase a subscription with the same results. Logging in to see high level toons unlocked, walk around in SW for 2 minutes, and booted again. I tried a 3rd time, and THIS time I removed all forms of previously used payment from my account in case battle.net didn't agree with the CC info I had saved on file anymore. Using a completely different CC, (both cards with current exp dates and plenty of money) I got the SAME result. Log in, 2 minutes, booted, back to trial version. Frustrated, I opened a ticket, and waited 2 days for a generic email back from blizzards "support" team (a robot) with ZERO help, no explanation, but my ticket was simply marked "Answered". Still frustrated, and unable to play, I submitted a second ticket, detailing the situation again. 24 hours later this time the same robot reply with ZERO help or information simply marked "Answered". Even more frustrated I stayed home from work a half day, and used the customer service "call back" option which to my surprise actually worked. A very nice man named Michael tried to help me resolve my issue. The long and short of it is that Michael tried several times to update my payment information for me, and admitted for whatever reason, despite entering everything properly, BLIZZARDS system continued defaulting to saving my NEW and current CC expiration date to an OLD card from YEARS ago, no longer on file...??? Michael, told me blizzard would email me as soon as they learned more about "why this is happening to my account", and that he'd never "heard of anyone having this issue before." He helped me purchase a 30 day game time token, but I have never received anything at all from blizzard since that day. I now have 18 days left, and have ZERO way to buy more game time, I SUPPOSE without having tech support call me every 30 days, to grind out some work around for a game token.. That's not happening, and I still do NOT have an actual subscription! It gets worse.. Today, I tried to purchase my friend a 30 day game token so he and I could play together. (I've done this several times over the years) Knowing that nothing about battle.net seems to work for my account anymore, I used a NEW CC (the last one I have to rotate) and got the same result I've gotten for 3 weeks now, as soon as I entered payment it went to a "Purchase Successful!" screen. Moments later, my friend would call me to reveal he had no email, no game time. I logged in to my battle.net account to see it is "Pending" which is how all of my purchases that don't work appear. I went back to support, entered yet ANOTHER ticket, and 8 minutes later received another robot-reply "Answered" no info, no help, NO POINT. As it sits, I am running out of ways to justify spending my play time, trying to grind out why I cant simply make purchases anymore. As a vanilla hanger-on player who has never had issues in the past purchasing at least 15 gold tokens, 10 racial changes, 7 server transfers, numerous pets, mounts, game time tokens and gifts for friends, I feel confident this issue is on BLIZZARDS end, its a real problem, and I can't seem to get help. Tech support is so automated now, its nearly impossible to get assistance unless you take a day off work to babysit your phone, and throw a half day away having a real person create a temporary work-around. Having said that, when I have been able to reach blizzard employees, they have ALWAYS been nice, professional, and make me feel valued, but the website services are broke broke BROKE.. 3h Missed Invasion Boss Kill, no loot Question: is there any way to tell if a legendary item dropped for a character but they did not receive it? I had to AFK unexpectedly during an Argus invasion point and when I came back the boss was dead. This means no loot. My biggest fear is that a legendary may have dropped that I wasn't eligible to loot because I couldn't loot the boss. Any help is appreciated.Melindrae6 3h
3h Upcoming Local Currency Announcement Forgive me if this isn't the right place to post this, or if the answer is not yet known. I am Canadian. I read the announcement for the Local Currency that Blizz put out today. I am very excited about this. At least, I think I am. However, I have a question with regards to subscriptions. I know that current subscriptions will remain in USD, as per the article, however, if I wanted to stop and start a subscription in CAD, I wonder how this will be valued. Obviously, an exchange rate will be involved, but I wonder, will the price of a month of WoW time change daily, or will it be static? For example, right now, I pay $15 USD a month for WoW time (I think), which is approximately $20 Canadian (Last two months were $19.62, and $18.89). I never know exactly how much my WoW subscription is going to cost me. Yes, it's only a few cents, but for illustrative purposes, those are the numbers. I wonder if it will be a set amount, reviewed on a regular basis, or fluctuate the way that exchange rates do. And, as I'm typing this, I realize that it won't matter, because even if it does change monthly, it already does according to my bank account and whatnot. I wonder if I get charged a conversion fee by PayPal....probably. I wonder if that will go away. Also, will Blizzard store pets/merch be a set amount in Canadian, or will they fluctuate as well? 8h PVP Getting Killed while completing Quests. I really just want to complete my quests. Stop killing me please. Please give me the option the disable PVP. Dying every 5 minutes because I walked by someone else is BS. I've died 3 times in 10 minutes. All three times to different players. If I want to do PVP, I can join the battlefield to do that. 22h Vidicator Boros companion BROKEN Please fix Vindicator Boros to be dismissible as other companions are (such as Nighthuntress Syrenne) because he tends to be annoying and broken a lot of the time. Yes, he now checks to see if you're mounted when he mounts up and immediately dismounts when you're not, but that is only the first part of fixing his issue. I'm sick of him running hundreds of yards (not an exaggeration) away to start fighting mobs along with all the other annoying things he does. One of the most annoying things is his consecration not doing enough damage to kill critters, so a bunny will get caught in it, freak out and run away leaving me in combat until I either find and kill it or run far enough away. That particular issue has wasted literal hours of my time (added up since I first started using him as a companion on my main). One time he was attacking what looked like a bush, but was really a mob under the ground which was evade bugged. I had to run for a full minute (again, not an exaggeration) before he decided to look up and realize that I was gone and come back to me so I could get out of combat. Please, please, PLEASE fix this. If he were dismissible, it would alleviate a lot of these issues as his aggro would drop off when needed.Draconic2 22h

1d Quest and Argus Got all 12 tomes for the quest chain for hidden appearance for disc. I watched to see that they went into my bag. When I returned said their was 11, I turned in some tickets. I went back and their were 12 in my bag again. But the NPC would not accept them. Put in couple more tickets, in the meantime I turned in bug reports. This is a long quest chain. Now even the quest is gone from my log and I still have the 12 tomes. The GM says they can appear to be in your bags. How ever you can click and move each one away from the others one at a time. After numerous efforts with tickets and bug reports and no help I have abandoned the idea of ever finishing this quest. Just will leave the 12 books in my bag. There is no doubt in my mind when a quest glitches it also does not record what it has done sometimes. Not one to complain but, WOW seems to be sliding. Argus has terrible terrain and places where you see more geography but run into an invisible wall. What has set WOW apart from other games is you do little of this type of thing. It has always had a big, open world. You set a standard for gaming and now it seems like you are no longer doing that on Argus. We worked hard to earn flying on the broken isles, which we can't use on Argus. After loving the game for years, and enjoying a helpful staff that cared about game play and its users it appears this is not so anymore. It appears as though the player blizzard, relationship is not as important as it was. And you have given your GM's a way to not give good customer service.Anetta3 1d
1d I See Dead People broken? As level 100, Horde Fury Warrior, I have killed the Spectral Laborers over 60 times and not gotten the Schematic required to complete this quest. Looks like the drop is broken to me. Wowhead says 16% drop rate on this item. What's the story? Can this quest be completed? I recall completing it, and the rest in the Taylor's Garrison with a Alliance toon a while back without problems. I have tried this with and without a follower bodyguard. 1d Punished for submitting a legitimate ticket. I would have submitted a ticket about this, but I don't want to get punished again for doing so. I was suspended yesterday for 48 hours presumably for a ticket I submitted 6 days ago against a player who was encouraging others to right click report me for everything I say, however benign. This happened multiple times from the same player using multiple accounts over a period of multiple days: (Warning: screenshot contains offensive language. "[edited]" and "[edited]" is the same person. "Painbow" is me) [Link removed] Naturally, I submitted a ticket for ongoing harassment. I never submitted a ticket against this person before and it certainly wasn't a frivolous ticket. Here is the suspension email I received 6 days after my ticket submission: ... I do not know what "detrimental discussion" means. "As we have previously warned you about this" What this means is that the supervisor suggested that I send an email to cssupervisor@blizzard.com when several people on my realm were calling me a !@#$%^-*! almost every day without provocation. They never told me that I couldn't submit ongoing harassment tickets against people who were encouraging others to abuse the report system. Am I to understand that I am no longer able to submit ongoing harassment tickets? It was never made clear to me at all by anyone. "A ticket is not necessary, especially when you are simply trying to wield us as a weapon against other players." I also have no idea what this means. I don't want Blizzard to be a weapon against other players. I want undeserved and ongoing harassment towards me to stop, so I submitted a ticket against a player. I would like this penalty removed from my account or to be able to speak to the supervisor of the supervisors about this. Since I began playing WoW in January 2005, I have never received these "Game Master Interaction" penalties until I spoke with a supervisor named <edited by Moderator> just over a month ago. 1d cannot learn mstr riding after lvl100 boost I boosted a new character to 100. My spellbook says see trainer for master riding but no skill is available from the trainer. Am I missing something? 2h NO EXCUSE (BG-New people don't join) There is absolutely no excuse that months later this is still a problem. If someone leaves a bg, someone new should fill their spot. This is how it has always been but not the last several months. I shouldn't lose a bg solely based on the fact we are down by 30%. One leaves, then 2, then 3, and not a single new person joined. How is that even possible, and why does it continue. It's a big fail on Blizzard and it's really infuriating for those who like to do bgs. Yeah, wrong forum. I don't even care anymore. 1d Boost Purchase Failing?? *Solved* I have a level 13 char currently on Thrall server whom I would like to boost. I have 2 methods stored in my account that I use to pay for Blizzard services. I last made a store purchase a couple of days ago for a transfer and faction change on a different toon and I have made many many purchases before with no hiccups. I am due for my monthly sub to be taken as well and I am worried. I have the funds more then enough. So I don't know why I am getting an error saying my info is wrong when I try to make the boost purchase when I haven't changed anything.Ðemonseed2 1d
1d Krokul Armor set not Upgrading So ive wasted 2 of these tokens so far, I was able to upgrade Millhouse Manastorm , but failed on 2 other followers, should be noted their ilvls are colored green. I took the color to mean that they were capped pre-patch @ 850, not sure why I was able to use on them if their not able to benefit from it. Not sure if I am missing something like a quest or what not, but that wouldn't explain why I was able to successful upgrade Millhouse.Hardliquor6 1d

6h Legion companion app bug In my companion app I have a notification for a completed mission. However, it's for a mission I completed a few days ago. I checked in game, the follower equipment shown in the tooltip was rewarded tommy character, but the notification won't clear. Also, i currently have 3 active missions, but it's showing that I have 4. This 4th in progress/completed mission is not "clickable" and I even tried deleting and re-installing the app completely. It's still there. I have a screenshot but can't figure out if/how I can add it in here. The bug isn't really hurting anything, but in case others have experienced it as well I wanted to share it. However, I cannot target the toon long enough to get the name so I can describe what I see in email to the hacks address. How do you get the thing to keep the name active long enough to copy it down? 1d Relic placing mistake Hi, i'm not sure where to post this, but I guess i'll just explain it here. Sorry if this is the wrong forum. I grinded out 1300 argunite between Mac'aree quests and such, and I opened a blood relic and a trinket (both as prot). I am trying to gear my prot spec and bought the relic for it (which is why I opened it as prot, even though I guess it doesn't matter). Anyway I went arms to make the last quest a bit faster and wasn't really paying attention, but I put the blood relic in my arms weapon instead of my prot weapon. I was a little distracted when it happened, but I was curious if there was anyway to get the relic from my arms wep to my prot wep (even if I lose the blood relic slot in my arms wep). I couldn't find an option to post this as a ticket in game so here I am. If any of this is confusing please let me know and ill try to elaborate. Thank youDeldrios2 1d
1d I can't find my character. I haven't played WoW in years... probably since Cataclysm. I remember that I had a blood elf priest on Bleeding Hollow, but then I switched to another realm about 2-3 years ago. I don't remember which realm that was, so... I went to each realm (on the United States side) individually and nothing is showing up. I remember that her name on Bleeding Hollow was Hycissa, I vaguely remember switching realms and might've been asked to change it... but I do not remember what I might've changed it to. Any ideas on what I could do? I do have two accounts, but I've checked the other account as well and nothing is there.Cissa7 1d

Turn your computers on early go get this because later in the day, when players return home from working/school, downloading that update, Blizzard maintenance (and possible patch??), it's going to be a nightmare. 2d Blizzards help section is the worst. Ya know. I am 100% sure 99.9% of the people dislike the stupid options you all give as the menu options for (character problems) and other issues. Come on. The only character problem you think people have is (character un-delete, restore profession, unable to move, name appeal, name in use or appeal silence) and if anything else, you really expect them to do a bug report that will NEVER ever get fixed. Are you kidding me. Your so called bug section is a joke. You people don't give a rats behind what any of the customer game play issues that may be going on. You all know it. 2d Friend can't server transfer? I've got a friend Ãmenta-Kil'jaeden that is trying to buy a server transfer to Wyrmrest-Accord and it's telling her that she is unable to because of a caged battle-pet, we've gone through her bank and bags and can't seem to find the one(s) in question.
