Nov 12, 2013 Recruit a Friend - Promotional Information Hey folks, With the newly re-released Recruit a Friend promotion we've seen a lot of folks interested in the upgraded program. If you have questions, many of them may be answered in the available Support Articles and Blog. Please make sure that you have reviewed them prior to creating a post. :) Recruit a Friend Program Blog Recruit a Friend In-Game Bonuses WoW Recruit a Friend Link Problems No Rewards from Recruit a Friend Recruit a Friend Video Not sure if you are linked? You should be able to check one of two ways. Summon Friend: Invite your friend to a group. Select and right click on their character portrait and you should see the option to summon them. This will only work for characters on the same realm, of the same faction, and who are under level 90. Experience bonus: While grouped, you can check to see if you are receiving the experience bonus by looking in the combat log after you kill a mob. You should see (You gain X experience (Y exp Refer-A-Friend bonus). Characters must be grouped, within 100 yards of one another and the mob killed cannot be considered trivial to either of you (trivial is usually considered gray or more than 4 levels below you). Note: If you have confirmed that you are not receiving the in-game benefits make sure to have both accounts (the Veteran and Recruit) log out completely (of the game and of the Battle.net Desktop app if you are using that). Wait about 5-10 minutes before logging back in. You can also try creating and deleting a new character and/or try changing your password. That can force the account to update and may help resolve the issue. Rewards: Mount/Pet and Game Time rewards will be available 7 days after the recruited account adds the qualifying game time. Apr 25, 2013 Multiple Security Locks? Try this! We've been receiving reports from players who have been experiencing repeated account locks due to "suspicious activity" and we wanted to provide what steps we could to help get you back in the game and/or access the WoW Remote app. Generally, if our systems detect a change in your normal access pattern (i.e. how you connect to the game and services), it may temporarily lock the account and require you to reset your password. This password reset provides a simple verification that validates the play session and allows you to access the account and game. Some players who are using the mobile app have recently been getting locked out even after the session validation/password reset. If you are experiencing this issue, please follow these steps: 1. Make note of the platform (game or mobile) where you received the lockout message. 2. You have two options to unlock the account. a. The first is if you attempt to log into the account, you may be directed to a security check page. There you'll be able to enter a security code sent to the registered email address for your account or answer your security question. b. The second is if you click on "Can't log in?" and select the My Battle.net account is locked option. There you will be prompted to enter your account name and then to answer your security question or supply a game key from your Blizzard retail box. 3. With both methods you'll be sent a code to the registered email address on the account. Entering that code verifies your access and unlocks the account. 4. When logging in after unlocking the account, log in using the same device that you encountered the lock on. This will ensure that your device is authenticated, and reduce or eliminate the chance of being locked from this device again. If you experience frequent lockouts otherwise not associated with this specific situation we highly recommend using one of our additional options for account management and security. The SMS Protect feature is available to those with a standard cell phone in a supported country with a data plan. This feature is available for free (standard text messaging fees would apply) and allows you to manage your security options for the account. Specifically it will send a code to your phone that you can enter on the site and unlock the account instead of resetting the password. Note - if you experience issues when clicking on the Add SMS Protect button on that page, you can still apply SMS Protect, by logging into your account and choosing the security settings. To find those options, choose 'Account' from near the top of the page. There in the middle of the account screen you will see options for adding SMS Protect and the Authenticator. We also have available the Battle.net Authenticator. This comes as a mobile app which is available for free as well as a physical device which is available through the Blizzard Store. This security option is taken into consideration by our systems and while it may not eliminate all lock outs, it can greatly reduce them. If you need additional support with a locked account, you may use our live chat feature or open a support ticket. Log on to Account Management 2. Click on Settings and select My Payment Options 3. Click on Add a Payment Method 4. Add all the required information and click Save Payment Method when you are done 5. You are finished adding a Billing Profile Multiple Billing Profiles and Primary Payment Method If you have multiple Billing Profiles on your account, make sure that the card you are using to make the purchase is set as the 'Primary Payment Method'. 1. Nov 2, 2010 Account Recovery Form Items missing? Characters transferred to realms you haven't even heard of? Being asked for an authentication code even though you don't have an Authenticator? If any of these questions match the ones you're asking yourself right now, your account might be compromised. Now, don't panic. Blizzard Entertainment's Customer Service teams are here to help you. There is no need to create a trial account to be able to submit an in-game petition, nor are you required to have a friend submit one on your behalf. To restore access to your account as quickly as possible, please visit our Account Recovery page and be prepared to verify your account information. With the introduction of our new Account Recovery Process, you should no longer be required to try calling or e-mailing our Billing & Account Services department to remove an authenticator that may have been placed on your account without your authorization. All you will need to do is fill out our Account Recovery Form. How does it work? Consider this your “One-Stop Shop” for reporting a compromised account. We'll ask you a series of questions that only you should know the answers to. After we are confident that you are who you say you are, our automated recovery process will take over and attempt to restore your access to the Battle.net account as soon as possible. This aspect of the account recovery process is similar to the password retrieval system, as it will send a password reset email to your account’s registered email address. In addition to the password reset email, a Battle.net service ticket (similar to a petition) will also be automatically opened on your behalf to have an investigation initiated. While you will be unable to view this ticket when logged into the game, you should, however, receive a message your e-mail address containing your ticket number and other information. Rest assured, a dedicated support representative will review your ticket and work to assist you in every way possible. What do I do after I fill out the Webform? Apr 2, 2015 Spotlight on: Phishing We thought we'd take this opportunity to discuss Phishing scams and how it relates to your World of Warcraft account. Traditionally "Phishing" is the attempt to acquire sensitive information, such as usernames, passwords, and other information, such as credit card numbers, by pretending to be from a trustworthy source. For World of Warcraft these phishing attempts often try to pretend to be Game Masters or other support representatives. Phishing attempts may also mimic a special offer, like an invitation to participate in the beta phase for one of our games/expansions. Phishing Emails - What to look out for Misspelling, Typos, and Bad Grammar – While we are not immune to the occasional mistake, the majority of the contact you will receive from Blizzard will contain proper grammar and sentence structure and will be devoid of typos. The most common indication that you may have received a phishing email is if the grammar is off. If so, it might be a scam. Bad or Misleading Links - Often the links included in a phishing email will look to go to a legitimate site and instead lead to a different “official looking” site entirely. If you see a link in a suspicious email message, be wary of clicking on it. If you hover your cursor over the link you should be able to see if the address that the link goes to matches the link that appears in the message. They will usually try to include “Blizzard” in the URL to make it appear more legitimate, often misspelling Blizzard (i.e. Bizzard, Bilzzard, Bilzard, etc) Threats & Account Information Requests – Many phishing emails, those that don’t offer some kind of reward to get you to click on their links, will ask for account specific information, such as your password or secret question answer. They will often reinforce that request by threatening to penalize or close the account if you do not comply. This is designed to scare you into reacting. Suspicious Emails and Phishing Phishing Filters for your Browser What to do if you suspect you received a phishing email? Most phishing emails will spoof the return address to make it look like it is coming from an official site. If you suspect you’ve received a phishing email you can check the email’s headers to see where it originated. Where to look for the email’s headers depends on the provider. The following site shows you where to look: Message Headers An email from us should come from an official domain, which would be either Blizzard.com or Battle.net. If you have received a phishing email you can report it as spam to your provider to help them better deflect those contacts. In-game Phishing – Whispers & In-Game Mail Nearly all phishing attempts in-game consist of someone trying to impersonate a Game Master to get a player to give up their account information. This usually happens in one of two ways: Reward – The contact will encourage you to visit a website and enter your account information by claiming that you were given a pet, mount or other prize. Punishment – This type of contact will claim that you may have violated policy and to avoid punishment you need to verify who you are by visiting a site and entering your information to prove who you are. Regardless, if you are contacted through a whisper or in-game mail from a Blizzard Employee it will always have a special indicator. In-game mail: There will be a Blizzard logo in the upper left corner of the message. In-game whisper: When contacted by a Game Master in-game, not only will the Game Master have a special blue Blizz tag next to their name, but any chat initiated by a Game Master will take place in a special chat box that will pop up when you are contacted. Those who try to impersonate a Game Master often use [GM] or Blizz/Blizzard as part of their name. What to do if you receive an in-game phishing contact? If you receive a phishing attempt through the in-game mail system you can report the message as spam by clicking on the “Report Player” option in the upper right corner of the open mail. If you receive a whisper or other text chat you can right click on the chat line to bring up a menu. Select the Report For: Spam option. Both methods will place the character on a temporary ignore and forward the report to our staff for review. The best way to avoid becoming a victim of a phishing attempt is to exercise caution when receiving any kind of information purporting to come from Blizzard. If an email asks for your password, makes urgent appeals, sounds too good to be true, or links to “account management” sites outside of Blizzard’s sites, you are dealing with a phishing attempt.Vrakthris0 Apr 2, 2015

1h I have agro on air? Really Blizzard? For years this has been going on and it still has not bean fixed. After fighting a monster or anything and you're still in combat. Run a sizeable distance away to drop it but still nothing. I had to hard quit the game to even be able to get out of it because the programming says I'm in combat. 1h Invisible Walls Since the latest patch I have been hitting a lot of invisible walls. Here are some examples: -> From Dalaran I port to Stormwind which takes me in the mage tower. I run out of the tower and mount on a flying mount. From the mage tower I fly to the portal area (Twilight Highlands, Hyjal, Vashj...) and in mid air I run into a wall. It may disappear afre 20 to 45 seconds. -> On my Demon Hunter I glide or fly from Dalaran to the portal for the class hall. Between Dalaran and the Island, on the island and in my Demon Hunter class I encounter these invisible walls as well. This has been happening everyday since patch 7.2Rexigar5 1h

This needs your attention: This character is not eligible for this service." i opened a ticket i waited over 20 hours for the ticket to get a reply they said there was no issues and he refreshed my account whatever that means so i tried again after the GM told me her refreshed my account still getting the same message "Oops! 3h Cannot view GM ticket response I have received a response from a Game Master and I am not able to view it. When I attempt to view the response both in-game and using a web browser, the following message occurs: Something went wrong on our end An error has occurred. This may be a temporary error, so please try again later. Blizzard Support Home Error code: e1b01d4a-5cf1-4a13-aa48-10ebc7460588 I am unable to flag the message as read, nor do I know what response was given to me as I am unable to read it in the first place. 2h Legion attack windows and OLD zone invasions! Considering the susceptibility of lagged out realms, people's pesky real lives getting in the way of relatively short time windows, and (it bears mentioning twice) LAGGED OUT REALMS: maybe it's time to have an eight-hour window for invasions, or maybe it's a daily event (shifting from zone to zone) each day? At the very least, the Legion needs a new strategist. "Hey, we're being attacked by the legion... close the shutters for four hours." Lastly, how about old-world realm/zone invasions? It'd be rather fun to see a gate forming next to Goldshire, maybe even right next to where the Darkmoon Faire is setting up, or a Fel Gate materializing on the barge in Thousand Needles. If it gave 2000 legion rep to run over to an old-world realm/zone each day for a bunch of "wild card" rep (token that can be used for ANY faction), I think we'd be there faster than a greased gnome on a waterslide.Geddi6 2h

4h Mythic Keystone Issue Hello, Last week I completed a +11 keystone on this character and a +7 on my warrior. When I checked my chest this week I only received +2 keystones, the rest of the loot was the correct ilvl and the AP was fine, I was just expecting higher level keystones. 6h Battle.net always shows me online For about 7 days, my second battle.net account always shows as online to my first account as well as to my friends. Four days ago, I got a new computer and did a complete new installation of WoW, which I thought would resolve the above issue, but it did not. Searching help topics, forums, and the web didn't come up with any resolution. Now today, for the first time, THIS account is having the same problem. -- Always shows online to my second account as well as to my friends. Please note that I have never used the option to keep the accounts logged on, on this or any other computer. I have also checked every setting in the launcher, and nowhere does it say to keep my battle.net accounts, or the launcher, online. I am also making sure that when I log in to battle.net or to my account info on the web, I log out again once I'm done. Anyone heard of this before and know of any solutions?Celara1 6h

9h What Character on Azuremyst? I have tried everything I know of to find which of my characters is on Azuremyst and to be honest, I can't find one. Whenever I look at the forums for realms, the first three realms that show up for news are Wrymrest Accord, Sisters of Elune and Azuremyst. Years ago I had a character on Azuremyst, however, I thought I had deleted the character or I may not have, can't recall. I have multiple accounts and most of them are based on Wrymrest. Is there some way I can find out which of my multitude of characters could possibly be on Azuremyst?Fnor2 9h
9h Shipyard Decommission Attempted in-game support, but got an "Error: -7", so I'm posting here. RE: Garrison Shipyard I can't Decommission any ships, on any character. The "Decommission" option is grayed out & states, "You cannot decommission a ship until you have the maximum number of ships." Attempting to build a new ship results in, "You already have the maximum number of ships your shipyard can support." None of my characters can build or decommission anything.Gorgon4 9h

6h When will technical issues be addressed? Such incompetence. Are you still trying to blame xbox's recording software even though we've shut it off? Why is it that I can't even talk to someone in tech support about this without having to go through all sorts of hoops to upload the same information that they've already seen. Clearly when crashes start occurring after a patch, it's not everyone else's fault. 10h B.Tag Showing Friends as Online but Not Okay so I have an issue that I am hoping can be cleared up. I have a friend on my B.Tag. This friend is currently being shown as online via B.Tag, showing that not only are they online, but that they are logged into a WoW character that I am familiar with. However, using a /who search to try to find the character returns zero results, as if the player is offline. Using a /who on the persons guild returns results of all that guilds members, except the player I'm actually looking for. Any whispers sent to the player fail to go through telling me that the player is not online. But according to B.Tag they are online and playing the game right now. 12h Booted from BG I got booted from a BG when I said the DPS was subpar and nobody was playing defense which was 100% true . 5h Cannot reach corpse after fall deaths I have found that Legion is an extremely poorly made expansion to what was already a game in it's death throws.... The entirety of the Broken Isles is a neverending series of cliffs and mountains where you CONSTANTLY fall to your death. Which is exactly why they decided to force you to complete 90% of the expansion before you can fly. The problem becomes that when you fall and die (and you WILL), you cannot always get back to where your corpse is. This is compounded by the fact that your corpse is no longer showing on the main map. Basically, once you hit level 110, your MAJORITY of deaths will be from falling, and that is just RETARDED because you cannot even play the game because you ALWAYS are Rez sick!!Cherri24 5h
3h Order Hall Missions Too High for any follower I just finished the last two missions that my low level followers can do. My highest follower is 107. All of the remaining missions including the broken shores are iLevel 830 and higher and non of my followers are at max level so I can start raising their iLevel.Kumitehunter2 3h

18h Stuck on Artifact Weapon quest I can't finish my Windwalker Monk artifact weapon quest. I did the scenario that where you acquire the fists of the heavens artifact weapon. But for some reason after acquiring the weapons, it didn't give me quest completion for it. I tried the scenario twice, so I could get completion, but since I already have the artifact weapon, it won't allow me to get it, "twice". The name of the quest is, "Into The Heavens" it has two parts to it. Use the Essence of the whirlwind, which is completed, but the second part: Obtain the Fists of the Heavens is not completed. I have completed it. I did the Scenario twice, I even have the Artifact weapons wielded. I can't destroy the weapons, I have unequipped and re-equipped, which did not fix it. I can't abandon the quest to try again, there's no option. So, I can't play on this character, do any Legion quests or anything because it's simply stuck. Please advise.Cushiony2 18h
18h Resuming Spires of Arak Quest Lines / Achieve I have looked through a lot of forums here and at wowhead, icy veins, etc., but I haven't found any addressing my problem. All I need for Draenor flying is the Spires of Arak. I have done a few of the quests in Arak, but I cannot find how / where to resume doing the quest lines to finish out Arak. I am not asking for any help in-game nor strategies. I just need to find out what I need to do to get back on the quest lines there. Any help or direction would be GREATLY appreciated. 23h Character Ineligible for transfer - No Info Currently getting this error when trying to do a guild transfer: "Guild Master Realm Transfer unavailable This character is not eligible for this service." Just because that I had the 'starting zone' issue from being in the DH order hall, but I moved myself to Dalaran. 1d Restoring Molten Corgi pet Just wanted to know if it would be possible for me to get an item that was lost a long time ago for me that was in my mailbox. The item being the Molten Corgi that I got for WoW's 10th Anniversary. 1d My main keeps freezing but my alts work fine. My main keeps freezing but my other characters work fine. I log in on main (Syldinna) on Sisters of Elune and within a few seconds the game freezes. I have disabled my addons and it won't happen. the thing is that my other characters work fine with the addons. Syldinna was working fine up untill 2:30 eastern time and now i cant figure what is going on.Calidra6 1d
