Oct 1 Found A Bug Fix For Graphics Issue Hello everyone! I have an iMac 21.5 inch, late 2013 with a 3.1 GHz Intel Core i7 processor and NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 1024 MB graphics card. I recently upgraded to Sierra Mac OS 10.12 and I am really enjoying playing WoW. However, I encountered a visual bug whenever I went under water. My display would glitch out into a series of cluttered lines alternating with black lines. It was a cool effect artistically but not something conducive to game play. :) So, after reading some posts here about liquid detail glitches, I went into WoW System/Advanced/Graphics API and switched from Metal to OpenGL. It worked! So, if you encounter encounter a similar issue just switch to OpenGL and the issue should resolve itself. Please note this will require you to restart your computer before you see any results. I help this helps. I'm no techie but I do like to help when I can. :)Trigonometry0 Oct 1
Oct 1 ERROR #108 (0x8510006c) Still getting the same error message when I try to start the game. ERROR #108 (0x8510006c) Before I'm asked to refer to other posts where options were given to solve the issue, I want to make it clear that I have already reinstalled the game multiple times, the repair option, as well as going into the data/data folder and deleting the repair file. I know that there are many other people having the same issue as myself who have also tried and exhausted all options/fixes offered by blue in the various posts I've read. Please if you have any insight on how to fix this other than what I've already tried please let me know. This isn't right that its been a week now since resubscribing for the year and purchasing Legion and I can't even get the game to launch on my iMac (which has specs that surpass the requirements.) thank you.Sanguinor0 Oct 1

Sep 30 Upgraded to Sierra, WoW Locking up. Since I've upgraded to Sierra I've been getting very frequent occurrences of WoW freezing, my curser turns into the little swirling rainbow for a few seconds, and then I can play again. that I have rarely encountered before. Sometimes it happens what seems like every 10 seconds or so, and sometimes it's not there. It's mostly there. :( Anything I can do? Thanks a lot!Paolasza3 Sep 30
Sep 30 Advanced Combat Logging time skipping Hi All I run the combat logs for my guild and I've noticed that the advanced combat logs that I upload to Warcraft Logs end up having negative numbers because the time entries jump back and forth a bit. For instance from last night 9/29 20:50:28.878 9/29 20:50:28.878 9/29 20:50:28.878 9/29 20:50:28.878 9/29 20:50:28.878 9/29 20:50:28.879 9/29 20:50:28.879 9/29 20:50:28.879 9/29 20:50:28.109 9/29 20:50:28.340 9/29 20:50:28.341 9/29 20:50:28.558 9/29 20:50:28.559 I know this might have something to do with my system clock, but its sporadic through the logs. Apparently other people are having the same problem http://forums.combatlogforums.com/t/logs-problem-bug-negative-numbers-in-graph/1076 Our logs from last night 9/29/2016 https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/kAyWCHPXRGpvfMh1/ Do I need to disable time sync (NTP) while logging? Is this something that can be fixed in the WOW Client or something that is part of OSX ?Washlunk0 Sep 30
Sep 30 DCs, No Cache File, Broken phasing...? Okay so. Earlier tonight I was playing, la la everything's fine. I get done out in the world and hearth to Dalaran. Something goes horribly wrong. For a second, there's kind of a visual tangle, and then I get sharded into an empty Dalaran. I'm able to run down into the Underbelly and everything is fine (npcs, players, the usual chaos), but when I run back up, nobody. Also I start experiencing this bizarre 'pseudolag'. I don't ACTUALLY have any lag, my latency is entirely normal, as is my fps, but characters, npcs, and doodads go completely unresponsive/running in place while chat remains entirely functional (including someone's RP somewhere nearby, of all things). I managed to free up in Shrine, and kicked over Terrace and SoO with a friend, but as soon as I tried to hearth back to Dal, it broke again. So I logged out, into another character. No problems. Everything's great. I'm told to do a cache clear, you know, cache-interface-wtf. I do that and try to launch a clear launch to see if that fixes it. That doesn't fix it. It makes it 100x worse. NOW I get 323 disconnects, all the time. I can't even get on to Kitkai at all, and most other characters, I can get on for awhile but then get the boot after a few minutes. I tried putting the folders back, although I'd legit deleted the cache folder... I figured it'd recreate a new one, but it hasn't. I've run scan and repair twice now (it's actually running for the second time as we speak) but I haven't any particular confidence it will help. What do I do to force it to replace its cache folder? What a mess.Kitkai1 Sep 30

Sep 29 Render scale and highlighting http://imgur.com/OFjVCal Render scale set to 50%, OpenGL (not Metal), causes bounding boxes around highlights to show through sometimes. I guess it's a precision issue? Best way to reproduce is to click on a target far away and start walking toward it. You'll see the box briefly at specific camera distances, so it disappears momentarily. It was hard to capture in a screenshot. (I don't normally play at 50% render scale, but settings seem to keep resetting to defaults -- unrelated problem. I would be using Metal if it didn't keep freezing iMacs w/ Sierra.)Synthética0 Sep 29
Sep 29 PIXELATED AND BLURRY SCREEN Hello everyone! So I'm running WoW off of a Macbook Pro 15'' Retina Display. I run a second monitor via a HDMI cable and usually only use it to watch youtube or something while i game. I am in the process of building a gaming PC so i can actually play the billions of games Mac users don't get. So i purchased a new monitor and wanted to see what WoW would look like on it. However, the result was very cruddy. It's quite pixelated and blurry. The UI itself remains relatively clear, but the game itself appears to be blocky and crummy. I have switched to every windowed setting, changed the resolution, defaulted the settings AND set them to recommended settings, but still i cannot get it to appear normally. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for your time!Gilianah2 Sep 29
Sep 28 Broken Shore Cinematics Black Screen I have run the Broken Shore on Horde side once, Alliance side once and Horde side a second time. The first pass everything worked as expected. However, the Alliance run and second Horde run I only had sound, no picture for any of the cinematics. I usually have no issues with in-game cinematics, and I did not see any settings that would affect this aspect of the game. Starting a thread in case anyone else has a similar issue.Azsharanda2 Sep 28
Sep 27 Freezing at opening cinimatic It started yesterday when I downloaded windows 10. I uninstalled wow and reinstalled it. still having the same problem. factory reset my pc mad sure all my graphics were updated and all the updates on my pc were done. installed wow again and still having the same problem except now doing it on the opening cinematic. thought it was a computer issue but able to play games off of steam.Terminalxd1 Sep 27
Sep 27 Suramar Crashing Graphics/ computer ( mac) I have been having this issue for a couple of weeks now, ever since i first reached suramar in the legion quest line, i am using a 13" macbook pro 2012, remaining in suramar for a short amount of time causes the game to explode into many colors and freak out and you can't see anything, occasionally this will crash my entire computer. this doesn't seem to happen in suramar city, just the outdoor areas, but it ONLY happens in suramar, i have always been able to run WoW just fine, does anyone have any suggestions?Doggodoggo3 Sep 27

Sep 26 Text vanishes from UI I have already reinstalled the game twice now, deleted cache and all that jazz. Still having issues where the text will just vanish from UI until I restart the client. Its not a constant thing it happens at random and almost always when I am either in garrison or around the broken isles.Solz0 Sep 26
Sep 26 mac cooling Mac cooling, just a tip, use a fan on the aluminum case, low speed for low noise. no laptop-cooling-bases that just make crazy noise, just a smallish sized fan. And _don't_ let it blow in your eyes, the fatigue is insane and you can actually cause damage if you have extended play-time. I've gamed on macs for a while, it's a little punishing at times, I used to maintain my own pcs (windows) but it's easier now to just have the apple store do it. occasionally I run bootcamp out of necessity, not doing that now. I've altered the (smc) fan-control in the past and it helps some, but the fan trick works a lot better, and it's quieter.Zahruk0 Sep 26

Sep 26 cannot start client at all So I'd dearly love to play this on my MBP (april 2015 purchase) even with issues, however I cannot even open the game, it crashes immediately whether i enter from launcher or from the app file directly. Whats annoying is that D3 runs without any issue on the same machine I have tried: repair twice full patch and download system update on the MAC running with cmd lines inc (screen res 1920x1080, opengl, 32 bit) permission correction to shared and applications folders marking ALL software playable in sercurity turning off FW uninstalling AV no matter what I try the WOW icon comes up for a few seconds then simply crashes with an error box (send to blizzard) i have done a system spec and also looked through the error logs, but its not immediately apparent to me what the cause is. Anyone with ideas?Veldrak1 Sep 26

Sep 26 Metal causing intermittent graphics freezing As I have complained about a few times before, I had been experiencing intermittent graphics freezes in certain spots of the game, in my experiences they were all indoor locations. At the time I was running MacOS Sierra Beta on my MacBook Pro 15" (Mid-2015.) I though maybe that was the culprit. After updating to the full MacOS Sierra release, the problem persisted. The only way I can get it to stop is to switch the graphics from Metal to OpenGL, which is a shame because Metal gave a huge framerate increase, but what's the point when you're freezing up every few seconds? It was making the game virtually unplayable. Has anyone else had this problem and gotten better results from OpenGL vs Metal?Valrmorgulis4 Sep 26
Sep 25 First login fail, second login success Hi Blizzard, When I log in, the first attempt is always a fail and the second attempt is always a success. After I log in on the second attempt I can choose a character and the game works fine. However, when I log out of the game to change a character via the character selection screen the game will load up, but will freeze at 90% loaded. If I want to change to a different character on the same realm, I need to go all the way back to the the realm selection screen, select the same realm, then choose the character that I want and then I can play the game just fine. Is there something up with the synchronisation of logging in/out? Machine details are below, I have all the latest OS updates. iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2014) OS version 10.11.6 (15G1004)Manahar4 Sep 25
Sep 25 Shop Error Since legion dropped I have not been able to purchase items in game. I have reviewed my billing info and Mac securities and there should be no issues. The error states: "Shop Error. There was a problem with your order please try again later." I can purchase off the website with no problem. Speaking with blizzard support the attempted purchases are not showing up at all. Not sure if this is a system issue on blizzards end. I have seen other Mac users experiencing the same problem so I thought I would post this here. ThanksBaaleal0 Sep 25
Sep 24 Crashing While Loading In Hi, so.. my MBP (15 inch, mid 2012) usually runs wow well, but lately it was randomly disconnecting me over and over so I upgraded to Sierra. It's worse! Now when I get to character select and click play, I see the loading screen and the entire game crashes. I've tried everything I can think of to fix it and some of the solutions here. I've cleared cache and stuff, I've tried windowed mode, I've tried launching it around the bnet app. I switched from Metal to uh, Open GL I think it was called and that didn't work either.. I don't know what to do. I just added time and can't even play. :( Is it Apple or is it me?Nytemi0 Sep 24
Sep 24 I cannot play WoW on my brand new 2016 iMac This has to be a joke, I just purchased a 2016 iMac for $1,300. 2.8 GHz Intel Core i5 8 GB RAM Intel Iris Pro Graphics 6200 And in these new zones or even draenor etc my graphics will literally crash my computer and force it to restart....my screen will tear and look as if I physically cracked my screen....this happened a few times over the last 4 hours last night but is happening tonight within 5 mins of me re-logging back into the game after re-starting my cpu.... My graphics settings are on low-med....it's not my settings, it's a bug or a communication problem between my graphics card and WoW....it is really pathetic considering I ran WoW 110% perfect on my 2012 Macbook Air before the pre-patch.... There are tons of issues like this with Mac users and this has to be fixed asap.Expertease28 Sep 24

Sep 23 game does not appear on launch I'm 5gb into the Launcher download, "Playable", but when I Launch, I get intro vid audio and nothing else. App icon appears. Maybe I haven't downloaded enough? I'm on a 2011 Mini, 10.11.5 (no updates appear for 10.11.6 in Software Update) gfx card: Intel HD Graphics 3000 512 MB old school, but it used to run WoW pretty much fine before Legion.Tesser1 Sep 23
Sep 23 iMac repeatedly goes to sleep in play Same issue here. I have an iMac running OS LION. Never had any issues until after upgrade to Lion. Problem not immediately detected after LION update.... unfortunately now.... I get to play about ten minutes before the computer apparently receives a command to go-to-sleep. The screen goes blank, the drives complete read write in prep for sleep mode and to-sleep it goes. Hitting the return key wakes it up - only to present the OS login window to which I have to re-enter my password.... WOW is still running and I am where I was in the game.... I get to play another 10 to 30 seconds and the screen goes blank again, the drives complete read write in prep for sleep mode and to-sleep it goes again. Imagining it was my keyboards fault I sort of went ballistic and my keyboard is no more. Now with a replacement keyboard it still does this. I am enraged but can't seem to identify where the problem originates from.... if it's from constant (or often) holding the direction keys down to run forward and left or right. I even attempted to not use the directional keys and used the mouse to point to a spot and the character moves to that spot, clicking on another spot moves to that spot in an attempt to play without using the directional keys and it still went to sleep on me. I am clueless as to why but fear my upgrade to OS LION has somehow introduced a kink into my otherwise perfectly running computer and WOW game machine. What gives(question mark)Halsterror6 Sep 23

Sep 23 Legion Companion Originally I posted in a normal tech support forum, but no response and since then I have learned of this Mac forum and thus probably it's more appropriate to be posted here for an answer since this is just for mini iPad. Normally, I just literraly turn my ipad if I want to change the resolution / make the app go "landscape" as opposed to full screen. With the Legion app, I have to keep my iPad up or just hold it in my hand. Is it possible to make it where the app can change the resolution / screen appearance when we turn the iPad? This way I can keep my iPad standing on the side (as the case is made for) and make it a little easier on the eyes? I get if it's this way specifically for iPhones, but it would be nice if it's doable with the iPad (or if it is already, then I haven't figured it out since I normally just turn my iPad). If this isn't possible, can it be recommended to the developers to do this feature? I would imagine it shouldn't be that much work since it's just turning the ipad sideways and most apps uses it. Thank you in advance!Shadowleaves0 Sep 23
Sep 23 Siri can't find Battle.net.app MacOS Sierra puts Siri on the Mac. Unfortunately, Siri is not too bright. Although you can tell her to launch some applications, she is unable to find Battle.net.app, Battle.net., Battlenet, or pretty much whatever else you want to name it if it is not a standard English word. If you want to launch "Battlenet," for example, she runs to your browser and looks for "Battle Net." This is a minor problem, but perhaps someone can suggest a fix that actually works.Greif12 Sep 23

Sep 23 WoW suddenly very slow on Macbook Pro WoW and every game I have has run very smooth for as long as I can remember. I just started playing again a few weeks ago and everything has been smooth as butter. Until a few days ago. Everything, starting from the login screen, is choppy beyond belief. I'm talking MAX 6fps if I'm lucky. I've tried every listed troubleshoot method I can find, plus a few others. I played with power saving settings and graphics card drivers to no avail, did all the basic stuff like deleting cache folders and what not, disabled all addons. I even reinstalled WoW. Every other game I play runs 60fps at pretty high settings, just like WoW used to. I have a brand new 256gb SSD, 8gb RAM, and have plenty of disk space One peculiar thing: if I restart my computer and open WoW immediately, sometimes it'll run like normal for a while. This is very unpredictable and does not work all the time, however I think it might point to a solution. Help me out!Orele2 Sep 23

Sep 22 Game won't launch, launcher won't start game The battle net launcher is stuck on "waiting on another installation or update" and if it does manage to begin downloading the game, the app icon starts after I press the play button but doesn't actually launch the game and it becomes unresponsive instantly. I have also tried a fresh install of both the game and the client and this has not worked either.Vexiras7 Sep 22

Sep 20 Wow spike crashing macbook air Hey! So i checked Legion out and thought it might be a great time to re sub to wow and get the new expansion, so i got my game up to date and logged in to check things out. However, ever since i did I've been having weird spikey freezes and the loading wheel keeps popping up. This freeze continues for a few seconds and then goes away on its own. It happens right through the main menu screen to character selection to load screens to the game! The fps i get in a place like Stormwind averages around 60-70 frames. Yet the weird lag freeze doesnt stop, its the kind which freezes every activity and even the sound goes on that annoying stuck loop (ding-ding-ding-ding...and so on) I'm using a macbook air early 2015 model. Intel i5 1.6ghz processor, intel HD 6000 graphics and 4GB ram. WoD used to work like a charm, highly worried about whats going on with Legion. Someone help me out with this please? Cheers! P.S- i always play wow from an external USB 3.0 USB device, much like all my other games (Dota 2, etc). It has never really given me problems so far, but i thought I'd put this up to leave no stone unturned.Evildisaster0 Sep 20
Sep 20 error 108, Battlement App problem as well I hear that restarts were going on some hours ago. I decided to scan and repair my game files, just to make th egame run smoothly, and that usually takes 5 minutes. I came back over an hour later and it wasn't completed. So I forced the APP to quit. When I tried to launch the game, it says "Error #108". Then I tried opening the Battlenet APP again, and this time it says that it is "waiting on another istallation or update" but nothing is happeneing. Usually that process also takes all but a minute or two. Now I can't launch the game at all, and Batttlenet is stuck in an endless update loop. Argh. Can someone please help me? I have no idea what to do next. Please help ASAP!Wilderwind0 Sep 20
Sep 20 Macbook Graphics Glitches I've played happily on a macbook pro for several years without any terrible problems. Recently, I had to replace the flash storage in my 2015 macbook pro retina and was also force updated to the most recent version of El Capitan. In the last week I've been playing, performance has been okay but the graphics will occasionally bug out or stutter then leave me on a screen with all of the text invisible. Restarting the game usually fixes this. Some searching made me think that El Capitan doesn't play well with windowed mode, so I've tried changing to fullscreen, but that causes the client to crash and spit out this error: ECB2187D-F009-4C67-82BB-DE315F17ED86 Without keeping the change in place. Here are my specs: MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015) 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5 16 GB 1867 MHz DDR3 Intel Iris Graphics 6100 1536 MB Thanks for any insight! (And community, please don't tell me to go buy a PC for gaming. WoW is the only computer game I play and I need a mac for other reasons.)Sassyfrass3 Sep 20
