Sep 26 Overpowering Foes: Arms PVE 8.0 A quick thank you to Archimtiros, Warriorsari, Corejo, and all of the Warriors of the Legion Alpha/Beta. Your hard work and dedication is testament to the warrior Community. Introduction: Hello my name is Curoar (think of it like que-roar) and I’m here to help new players as well as veteran players get a firm understanding of what's happening to Arms in 8.0 in terms of PVE. I’ve been writing this guide since Mists of Pandaria, and hope to continue updating this guide all throughout Battle for Azeroth. There hasn’t been a huge shift in playstyle, but a lot of quality of life changes have occurred for Arms in PVE. If you have any suggestions to add to the guide please leave it in comments and I’ll come back and check it every now and then. PLEASE NOTE! Despite 8.0, launching this guide will be constantly updated and changed based on inevitable balance changes Blizzard will make. During this time stat-weights, talents, consumables, and enchants are all subject to change. Table of Contents: I. Wait?! What happened to the spec?: Changes from 7.35 to 8.0 Arms has had quite a few ability changes, but for the most part these abilities take the place of other abilities previously in our rotation. We have pretty much a zero net gain on our abilities, so nothing too much should be changing. Battle Cry/Recklessness removed Cleave removed Mastery changed. Mastery is now Deep Wounds. Striking an enemy with Mortal Strike, Cleave, Execute, Ravager or Bladestorm inflicts deep wounds, causing the enemy to bleed for (53.82% of attack power) over 3 seconds. Overpower is no longer a talent is now a baseline ability. Overpower no longer has an increased critical strike chance. Overpower increases the damage of your next Mortal strike by 30%, stacking up to 2 times. Colossus Smash has changed. Colossus Smash now increases the damage you deal to the target by 30%. 45 Second Cooldown. Sweeping Strikes is no longer a talent and is now a baseline ability. Sweeping Strikes (For 10 seconds your single-target damaging abilities hit 1 additional target within 8 yards for 80% damage.) New Passive Seasoned Soldier (Your auto attack critical strikes generate 30% more rage.) Battle Shout has returned to the Warrior kit, and now increases the attack power of all raid and party members by 10%.That’s a lot! Don’t worry we’ll go into more detail below! II. Simming your Character In the past simming (What gear and talents affect your DPS in the best way possible) your character was something that was often awkward (Anyone remember TBC spreadsheets? Curoar remembers), and at times confusing and intimidating for players. However that is in the past, and today it much easier to understand. Raidbots.com allows for easy to understand simulation for your characters. As such whenever you obtain a new piece of gear or are curious about how a talent will interact with your character, you should probably sim it to make sure your getting the maximum benefit. Whenever changing anything, make sure you check and sim your character. III. Stat Priorities With the removal of Stromkar (I’ll miss you buddy) and Battle Cry, a lot of our passive critical strike has been removed from the spec. Add in the addition of the Seasoned Soldier passive, our stat priority shifts dramatically, then what it was in Legion. This means gear with critical strike, will now be very good for us instead of going right into the trash can. The stat priorities for Arms as of the 8.0 Pre-Patch is as follows... Haste to 23% > Crit > Strength > Haste > Versatility > Mastery Haste: Haste improves how quickly we attack with our main hand weapon, as well as reduces the cooldown of Mortal Strike and our Global Cooldown. This means we generate rage faster and use our signature abilities more frequently. Haste has become a far more important stat than in the past due to the GCD reduction and the fact that almost all of our abilities interact with Tactician. More abilities, more tactician resets. We'll want to get to the haste soft cap (20%, but we say 23% for human error) in order to fit another GCD into Colossus Smash. Super important for damage. Past that, Haste becomes less powerful and we look to other stats. Critical Strike: Ah, I’ve missed you buddy. Critical Strike is now again a very powerful and potent stat for Arms. Allowing us to generate additional rage off our Auto-Attacks, while also just making big numbers. And who doesn’t love big numbers? Versatility: Versatility is a stat that increases your damage, healing and absorption done. It also and reduces the damage you take by half the amount of the damage increased. This is a solid stat as its a flat damage boost to everything we do, as well as improves our survivability in raids. Mastery at the moment is listed as our last stat priority due to to a few reasons. Despite the massive buff it recently received, it it's still not a stat we want to go out of our way for. Mastery is a little less than Versatility in our stat priority. III. Gems, Enchants, and Consumables Gems Gems: Quick Owl's Eye (Deadly Amber Blaze if you have more than 23% Haste) Gems are the Same as in Legion. The sockets only appear randomly on gear from drops, and you can only gem once for Primary stats, and the rest must be secondary stats. You should use the following gems below. Enchants: Weapon Enchant: Quick Navigation (Deadly Navigation if you managed to have more than 23% Haste) Rings: Pact of Haste (Pact of Crit if you have more than 23% Haste) Consumables: A good player is always prepared for raids so make sure you have these items if you wish to maximize your DPS. Food - Bountiful Captain’s Feast Flasks - Flask of the Undertow Potion - Battle Potion of Strength Pre-potting is something that’s existed since WotLK when blizzard changed the cooldowns for potions. It’s advised you pop a potion right as you begin an encounter and then use another potion somewhere over the course of the fight (Hopefully once your cooldowns are up again). This is vital when you’re pushing progression fights.Curoar42 Sep 26
Jul 16 The Might of Stromkar: Arms PVE 7.3.5 A quick thank you to Archimtiros, Warriorsari, Artunias, and all of the Warriors of the Legion Alpha/Beta. Your hard work and dedication is testament to the warrior Community. Introduction: Hello my name is Curoar (think of it like que-roar) and I’m here to help new players as well as veteran players get a firm understanding of what's happening to Arms in 7.2.5 in terms of PVE. As with every other class and spec, in Legion everyone has had significant changes and their spec and abilities. We’ll start by discussing those, before jumping into the meat of things. If you have any suggestions to add to the guide please leave it in comments and I’ll come back and check it every now and then. PLEASE NOTE! This guide will be constantly updated and changed based on inevitable balance changes Blizzard will make. During this time stat-weights, talents, consumables, and enchants are all subject to change. What happened to the spec?: Changes from 7.2.5 to 7.3.5 Actually nothing. Our spec received no PVE related changes in 7.3.5. Arms had considerable changes going into 7.2.5. In case you don't know what changed here's what happened in 7.2.5 with the spec. The following changes have been made to the spec in 7.2.5... All abilities damage increased by 10%, in addition to any damage changes be low. Auto-attack rage generation increased by 10%. Critical strike auto-attacks now generate 30% bonus Rage (was 50%). The effect of Mastery has been reduced by 20%. Anger Management now spends 20 Rage per 1 second of cooldown reduction (was 10 Rage per 1 second), and now also reduces the cooldown of Bladestorm. Cleave damage increased by 20%. Colossus Smash cooldown reduced to 20 seconds (was 30 seconds), and damage increased by 10%. Dauntless cost reduction is now 10% (was 20%). Deadly Calm now reduces Rage costs during Battle Cry by 75% (was 100%). Execute damage increased by 25%. If the target does not die, 30% of the Rage spent on Execute is refunded. Fervor of Battle is now moved to Level 75. Fervor of Battle damage bonus increased to 80% (was 45%). Focused Rage is now moved to Level 90. Focused Rage now costs 20 Rage (was 15 Rage). In For The Kill is now moved to Level 90, passively causes Colossus Smash to grant you 10% Haste for 8 seconds. In For The Kill now refunds 40 Rage (was 30 Rage). Mortal Strike damage increased by 20%. Opportunity Strikes now causes your extra attacks to generate 5 Rage, with a 0.5 second internal cooldown. Overpower no longer costs Rage, no longer procs from auto-attacks, and may not proc itself. Precise Strikes (Artifact trait) now causes Colossus Smash to increase the critical strike chance of your next Mortal Strike or Execute by 10% per rank. Ravager now generates 7 Rage per tick if it damages at least one enemy, for a maximum of 49 Rage over its duration if every tick deals damage. Rend cost increased to 30 Rage (was 10 Rage). Rend’s first hit now deals 150% weapon damage. Rend’s duration decreased to 8 seconds (was 15 seconds). Rend now deals damage every 2 seconds (was 3 seconds). Rend’s periodic damage has been increased to 2.5x attack power (was 2.4x attack power). Initial hit decreased to 150% weapon damage, down from 280%. Periodic damage increased to 2.5x AP per tick, up from 2.4x AP. Shattered Defenses (Artifact trait) now causes Colossus Smash to increase the damage of your next Mortal Strike or Execute by 60% (was 30%). This effect no longer increases the critical strike chance of Mortal Strike or Execute. Slam damage increased by 35%. Titanic Might now increases the duration of Colossus Smash by 8 seconds (was 16 seconds), and now also reduces the cooldown of Colossus Smash by 8 seconds. Trauma is now moved to Level 45. Trauma is now also activated by Execute. Void Cleave (Artifact trait) damage increased by 100%. Whirlwind damage increased to 90% weapon damage per hit, now costs 30 Rage (was 25 Rage). Nov 15 Warrior Week in Mythic Plus 11/14-11/21 It is that time for big fat cleaves in M+ in case anyone didn't get the memo Go out there and remind them why they invite DPS warriors Restore hope to the mythic plus scene this week May the force be with youQuixa1 Nov 15
Nov 15 Prot compared to Blood. So my warrior is 360GS so this perspective is from that range. I have been tanking in WoW since release and then 5 years of Everquest tanking before that. So, I just hit 120 on my Blood DK last Sunday, and his GS is 349 and I am already clearing +9 Mythics with ease. The difference between how little Blood takes as far as damage compared to my prot warrior is ridiculous. My wife plays a mistweaver monk and she is 365GS and struggles on pulls keeping my warrior up on +7 and up due to the 3 afflictions, dumping her mana bar into him each pull. However, she tells me last night after downed that +9 how amazingly easy it was and she had time to dps instead of having to worry about me the whole run. So my thing is, why Blizzard why if you know the other tank classes are so screwed up do you not send out a quick hot fix? I also have a 355GS vengeance demon hunter and he can't hold a candle to Blood either. This forces people who want to progress, to playing a specific class, and it really makes me mad that they dont care enough about there player base to just push fixes out immediatly.Sánguìs62 Nov 15

Nov 15 wish for 1 new spell what is a spell a warrior doesnt currently have that you wish it did? for me as prot warrior, its a pull. how many times has there been 2 hunters/mage enemies that you cant get both of them, and other members in the group wont sheep it. if prot warrior had a pull, i think it would be a near perfect class, IMO.Wally13 Nov 15

Nov 15 Do you view warriors differently? By their race? Like I.E. an Elf warrior probably won't be as strong as an Orc but they would be alot more crisp & clean in their attacks and movments?Faradei20 Nov 15
Nov 15 prot warrior self heal I figure i would ask the question. i bet i am missing something. For a warrior to get/use a self heal he has to get the killing attack on an enemy or it doesnt proc. Is there a different way to get a heal? dk, druid, pally, DH can all heal themselves at will. its not really a big problem on mobs, but on solo elite encounters it makes it very difficult. am i missing something? is there a way to get an extra heal on single player encounters?Wally11 Nov 15
Nov 15 Ork warriors is fake news Ork warriors think they are so awesome but in reality, worgen warriors are way better. Everyone knows if you pick ork you need every unfair advantage you can get and combined with asian amounts of bodies they are able to camp flight paths for a really long time. In the forums almost all warriors are orks cuz they think they are the most skilled and their opinion is more important. Everyone knows ork warrior is for noobs. Worgen fo life, alliance forevah!Musclemass10 Nov 15
Nov 15 How is Arms rotation? I've always played a Ret Paladin. So far this expansion my rotation is slow and clunky, often lots of downtime with nothing to press.Blackguarde12 Nov 15
Nov 15 For those wondering if Fury is "Ok". I've seen quite a few posts asking "Which is more viable" or "What should I play as DPS". I think you should play what you should enjoy but there are two major differences in playstyle (really watered down explanation but hopefully it helps): FURY Fury plays like the word - furiously. You will CONSISTENTLY be pushing 50-55+ CPM (Casts Per Minute). Focus on Positioning and ABC. Always. Be. Casting. You should utilize every gcd, especially when your gear / haste is built up. If you enjoy non-stop action and button smashing this is for YOU. You don't have to manage your rage - you just have to ensure you don't overcap! Excellent throughput (consistent dmg). ARMS Very methodical. Slower paced than Fury (I was mid-high 30's to 40's on CPM) There is a little more attention that needs to be given to Rage management. Incredible burst AoE. Fewer but LARGER numbers. I personally prefer Fury; the playstyle fits my personality and what I find fun in the game and with a few weeks of practice, you start learning tricks that help you maximize your dmg output. Here are the logs from our latest Raid - I daresay the proof is in the puddin'! (Don't worry, that made me cringe too) https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/nGDzjkLcXCMFmJ73/#playermetrictimeframe=today&playermetric=wdps&playermetriccompare=rankings&fight=37&type=damage-done P.S. The logs are set to the damage on our last attempt of Mythic Mother, we did a few Heroic bosses and M Taloc as well - I wasn't present for H Taloc and somehow got aggro on Fetid, which is a shame.Geldwix16 Nov 15

Nov 14 Surviving Heroic Zul P2 Tips? My guild currently has 5/8 on farm. Breeze through in under an hour, then immediatly get stuck on Zul. We have dropped him a few times, but still struggle P2. We blow hero phase 1, transition with just a Crusher up, then me and the other tank immediately get melted by the dot. The ret pally generally bops me through the first puddle drop. I use last stand once I get my second stack, then shield wall while waiting for the puddle to drop the second time. Im usually dead by then.Roocifer4 Nov 14

Nov 14 Does Versatility affect fury healing? Hey, i'm thinking about rerolling fury because feral's survivability is retarded. My question is, does Versatility affect bloodthirst and other warrior heals? Because fury healing is based on Percentage of Maximum health, so I'm not sure if it affects healing like spell power healing. Can anyone please confirm?Stärgazer5 Nov 14
Nov 14 Where are the tank changes (Patch 8.1)? With such little time left for the PTR cycle, where are the tank changes that are supposed to be delivered with 8.1? With the latest build cycle, there is still nothing in sight. There were supposed to be significant revamps for protection warriors and guardian druids. There were supposed to be buffs for for a few specializations in raid settings (so not every raid tank is a monk). It seems like Blizzard is once again not delivering on a promise. On top of it, weren't elemental shamans and shadow priests supposed to be revamped? All I see are tuning and some minor talent tweaks. This is all so disheartening.Blr9 Nov 14
Nov 14 Arms warrior play speed Hello, Just coming back to the game. It's been a long time since I've played warrior or rogue. I've generally played casters/healers since TBC. I was playing my warrior as arms but he seems like he is slow. I'm not sure if its because he is gear is bad or if thats how they are played. Seems like where the only button left is Whirlwind. Rogue i'm generally playing Assassination and it seems quite fast paced. Does the warrior get faster paced once geared? I'm looking for a faster paced style class this time around.Snoozeys8 Nov 14
Nov 14 Siegebreaker question Greetings fellow warriors, I have a question about siegebreaker. The question is about holding siegebreaker, I have no idea if i should use it on cd or hold the spell to get recklessness or/and dragonroar/bladestorm in it for a single target scenario. If a professional warrior can point me in the right direction, will have my deepest of gratitude. Thanks and have a good day.Flebles4 Nov 14
Nov 14 What drives people to play Warrior? Hi, I've played warrior on and off since vanilla WoW. Sometimes it's been my main, other times not. Seems whenever I return to WoW, I pick it up and level it at least to max. Now I'm not trying to be negative here, I'm just curious what the design intentions are behind warrior these days. Back in vanilla, warriors were killing machines. Paired with a paladin that could remove their one weakness of being snared/rooted, they decimated everything. Mana-gated classes ran out of mana, rogues had energy that had to regen, rage was plentiful and never-ending. A warrior kept alive was always a threat. It felt amazing when you found THAT healer. That was PvP, of course, which isn't my focus. It DID feel awesome, though. Warriors were also THE tanks. Everyone loved a good protection warrior in vanilla. Nowadays, I struggle to see what vision they have for this class. With such a lack of utility, should we not be harder to kill or deal somewhat more damage than classes with much more valuable utility/CC? As tanks, should we have higher HP or just be utter walls compared to tanks with multiple cleanses, death prevention mechanics, pulls, CCs, self-heals, etc? Is warrior just designed to be that one class people play because they don't WANT to look out for others? Intentional lack of utility so they CAN just focus on themselves? Is it just a class fantasy thing nowadays, with the reasons people playing it being that they like shouting and jumping around everywhere? Because utility and survival-wise I'm having a hard time seeing why warrior is comparable these days to other melees that offer more or tanks that are safer bets. Like as a tank I'm on the verge of playing DK or monk because I feel I have so little control over my own survivability, but I love warrior and don't want to give it up. The 8.1 changes other than IP off the GCD don't seem like they're offering much, so that isn't helping. Perhaps some other people can explain what makes this class so great to play still? Obviously people play it because I see a fair amount of warriors. Like if it's just "class fantasy", that's great. I love the warrior class fantasy. Class fantasy is also usually about feeling powerful or useful, though, which I do not.Sunderkat39 Nov 14
Nov 14 Fury warrior feels AMAZING in 2s At the start of BfA I played arms because he was better then fury in arenas. But, right when I saw that fury buff I instantly switched and have been playing fury ever since. They feel so strong in 2s with being able to heal and they are a bit more tanky. I just wanted to know if the rest of you think arms is kinda crap compared to fury in 2s? I have a couple friends that say arms is amazing and others who think they are crap, what are your thoughts?Airiden14 Nov 14
Nov 14 Blood Rite vs LoW So I have a 385 azerite chest with Blood Rite and Lord of War on the outer ring. I am leaning towards LoW but there are several factors that I am unsure of. Blood Rite's duration is refreshed on killing an enemy. Does this include any enemy that I have damaged or is this similar to Victory Rush in that I need to get the killing blow? Details shows the uptime to be approximately 30% during a mythic+ dungeon but that can be skewed by chain pulling and stopping between pulls. Is Blood Rite's ICD refreshed when I kill an enemy? If it is not then the does the random proc chance outweigh the reliable burst and rage from LoW? Blood Rite is simming higher but certain fights are more situational.Shoryuu4 Nov 14
Nov 14 What are they doing with Warriors? Honestly though. Prot are the worst tanks in the game. DPS specs are basically melee mages with worst dps and squishier than all other melee classes with little to no utility. Execute phase is now "Catch up to the other DPS phase"....what gives Blizz?Varys26 Nov 14
Nov 13 Fury or Arms in 8.1? What will take an edge in 8.1.. fury or arms? Ive been reading the changes to warriors and it seems as though all of them are already in the game..? Unless i am missing something..Swagstar4 Nov 13
Nov 13 A Serious lack of Utility Now, I Have seen some older threads talk about this but nothing seems to change. Warriors are in a state of a serious Lack of Utility... While a warriors damage currently is fine, and they feel great in PvP. They have almost nothing to bring to the table in PvE. Currently the only real reason to bring a warrior is battle shout (barely a reason), they have almost no effective CC which even then is locked behind Talent choices. They have no interactive PvE abilities.. When you are dropped from an M+ run for someone with lower iLvl cause "Sorry, Warriors just have no utility", that is a serious issue to me. Now, how do you fix that right? While I don't claim these ideas to be perfect or even good for that matter they are a start.. Battle Rez: I've seen someone suggest "Horn of the Valkyr" to stay in Flavor with the warrior theme.. and I love it! Party and Raid summons: while warlocks have monopoliezed this area I think it would be cool to give warriors the ability as well to stay in theme as well it can be called "Bifrost Gateway" Bring Shockwave Back: Really need the CC intimidating shout just doesn't cut it. Like I said just a start but jeez do we need something.Boondock13 Nov 13
Nov 13 [PvP] Why dragon roar? I see top warriors running dragon roar instead of bladestorm. Why? Bladestorm seems more useful and more threatening.Femaletitan7 Nov 13
Nov 13 IP off GCD is a minor Hotfix why wait 8.1? The lack luster QoL Prot changes for 8.1 could be hotfixed by one person leisurely on a sunday afternoon. It isn't hard to take IP off GCD and buff a few things. This is hotfix material not class redesign that Prot needs in 8.1 So why wait? Just Hotfix these changes then give us new talents and abilities in 8.1. Lets go Devs!!Abombanation44 Nov 13
Nov 13 Syringe of Infirmity +HecticAddCleave? This trinket seems to proc on offtargets far too often, is anyone else catching this? I can't always switch targets to build crit stacks when it happens to proc from sweeping strikes or bladestorm onto a secondary target. So outside of boss fights is there any reason to use this over say Gore Crusted Block?Quixa2 Nov 13
Nov 13 Warrior, The Forgoten Class Warrior used to be something special a class that wile hard to level hard to master and took real work to be good at, now Warriors are one of the most abused class the game now has more anti Warrior abilities such as casters having absorbs that you cant break with all cooldowns, Warriors Lost The ability to gain Rage from Magic so Mages can zip and zoom around and we get nothing from the abuse of magic, warlocks Chaos Bolt is able to decimate us with ease and despite my rage in real life I get nothing in game from it. Monks and Demon hunters have more stuns than they need as well as Mistweavers ability to channel a heal and run at the same time and despite stuns and Intimidation shouts the Absorb form their heal is unbreakable unless hit by 5+ people. Players ARE NOT Raid bosses yet healers seem to be In Pvp. Warrior is the only class that hasn't gained a ability that can absolutely break a opponent Fury warrior is essentially useless in PvP being unable to out heal a Healers Damage (they are healers not Damage Dealers they shouldn't be able to out damage damage dealers) its sad to see that warrior is slowly being replaced since we don't get anything but deaths in pvp unless I pay for a pocket healer, Blizzard I would absolutely Appreciate another Healing ability or at least some form of defensive that can help in Arms Survival since in pvp we don't have survivability unless a healer is on us at all times. Thank you for reading my Rant. Blizzard keep up the good work cant wait to see what comes next =)Knaaka29 Nov 13

Nov 13 Weak Auras Ignore Pain Help Hey everyone. I am trying to reverse engineer a weak aura string I had for ignore pain and I'm running into some difficulty getting it to load properly. It was originally made for Legion so I updated the calculations and strings for BFA math, but its just not loading in properly. Can anyone give me a hand? The import string is below. ...Shadowkow4 Nov 13
Nov 12 Blademaster Spec? Would it be suitable for the Warrior class to have a Blademaster spec? 2H wielding but emphasize on finesse and cunning instead of brute force? I'm not talking about a major revamp like Combat -> Outlaw or Melee Survival per se, it could be more like talents, such as Defensive Stance and Feral Affinity. 1) Defensive Stance: "A defensive combat state that reduces all damage you take by 20%, and all damage you deal by 10%. Lasts 0 sec." So a Blademaster Stance might be: "A agile combat state that increases haste and crit by 10%, movement speed by 15%, but increases all damage taken by 20%. Your charge now blinks you behind your target." Somewhere along that line. 2) Feral Affinity: You gain Feline Swiftness. Increases your movement speed by 15%. You also learn Rake, Rip, Swipe. Your energy regeneration is increased by 45%. So a Blademaster Affinity might be: Increases your haste and crit by 10%, movement speed by 15%. You also learn Windwalk, Mirror Image, and Shadow Step. All damage you take is increased by 20%. While Blademaster walks between both Warrior and Rogue ideologies it's closer to being a warrior. Besides, I doubt Rogue would trade their Subtlety spec for a Blademaster spec. (Maybe?)Maplesong8 Nov 12
Nov 12 Prot Warrior: Tuning @DEVS LISTEN!? I've been maining a prot warrior *nothing but a prot warrior* for the past 7 years. I've seen ups I've seen downs. But these downs are very down. Protection warrior can be fixed via multiple ways. Please read all. 1. IGNORE PAIN vs GCD: The flow of the class would feel much better if Ignore pain was off global cooldown. To account for the required rage generation to use it and the current "defensive spamming" to provide onpar mitigation with other tanks not using defensives ** YA WE ARE UNDER TUNED** however this small GCD change will allow us to build proper rage and provide proper threat generation. It will give smooth less clunky game play because we are spam clicking the ability LESS because its off gcd. And its not "miss-fireing" 2. SPELL REFLECT vs MAGICAL DAMAGE: Currently the magic damage reduction is 100% removed from spell reflect after reflecting a spell. *IT NEEDS TO PERSIST* for 5 seconds! (reflecting all abilities for 5 seconds would be fine too.) Doing this might actually provide some mitigation and make us good for something. 3. ARMOR MITIGATION vs PHSYICAL DOTS: In BFA all tanks except warriors are based on armor mitigation. Shield block value does not have any active mitigation vs "phsyical dot damage" Yes we have ignore pain on the GCD however it is instantly used up most of the time and provides very little dot mitigation as our armor is one of the lowest of all tanks. We do not have the rage generation needed to maintain both ignore pain and shield block in most situations. We are having to literally chain spam cooldowns in order to even stay alive in mythic+10-15 keystones and heroic/mythic raids from basic attacks and abilities. Shield block should provide mitigation vs ALL phsyical damage, direct phsyical hits and phsyical dot damage. 4. RAGE GENERATION/SPENDERS vs GCD: At current the only rage downfalls are start of fight rage generation and rage generation outside talenting booming voice. It feels excessively low. It requires popping avatar prior to charging into combat. Just to have enough rage to use shield block and thunder clap so you can hold agro. Not doing this requires you to charge and shield slam. providing ZERO THREAT GENERATION on aoe. Setting you back multiple GCD's in aoe agro. Thousands of players on the warrior discords, reddit, mythic raid teams, are currently swapping out of playing a protection warrior for competitive content. Their main reason they are choosing not to play a protection warrior is that they feel IGNORE PAIN needs to be removed from GCD. Having it on the GCD makes the class not fun to play because it's never useable when you need it. There are other reasons they give as well but this is the consistent reason everyone is stating who use to and still want to play the warrior competatively. We are pressing Ignore Pain when we need it and it cannot be used because of the GCD. Its low yield and output makes it very troublesome to use during intense incoming damage situations where you need to maintain aoe threat, We are having to constantly weave other defensive abilities in as as well. Another possible solution is Provide a (FREE IGNORE PAIN) upon using abilities such as Avatar, Demo Shout, Last Stand, Shield Wall, Spell reflect. Making IP activate on all of these might be overkill but allowing it for Avatar & Demo Shout will fix some of the GCD issues people are having with ignore pain. Thank you for your time. If anyone wants me to link the thousands of warriors that agree with this please view the SKYHOLD WARRIOR DISCORD under protection warrior discussion, as well as view every 10th post on the warrior forms. There are thousands of posts and comments discussing the state in which prot warriors are at the moment. EDIT: 09/22/2018 EDIT: 09/22/2018 BLOCKING vs MISSLE ATTACKS: Arrows, Bullets, & Direct Missle Targeted Magical attacks. Abilities like these should be able to be blocked in some shape or form. *maybe with talent never surrender* Possibly have base blocking 50% reduced values for missle attacks vs melee attacks and allow the talent never surrender buffed to allow full value blocks on missile attacks, and increased critical block chance by % based on missing health (basically mastery) or automatically cast a free shield block when falling below 50% HP on a 30 sec - 1 min cooldown affected by haste. It would be a good trade off if u ask me. *aoe & dots* are not affected. just direct missile attacks. These are just some ideas for "NEVER SURRENDER" talent. As the last 2 expansions it has basically been an unused trait in all situations. (EDIT 11/2/2018) I came across some other possible fixes.. 1. Ignore Pain & Shield Block both become "active" mitigation. 2. Ignore Pain is removed from GCD (30 rage cost) -not 40 3. Ignore pain stacks up to (x2 times) -up from x1.4 4. Shield Block is put onto GCD (30 rage cost) -not 35 5. Booming voice rage (+30 rage) -not 40 6. Avatar (+30 rage) -not 20 7. Shield Wall (+60% defensive) 8. (DEVASTATOR GLYPH) Titanic Tank - Protection warrior is able to Transmog 2HANDERS only when talented into devastator. 9. Rallying Cry is removed from GCD 10. The talent [Menace] causing enemies to tremble in place should be replaced with a DIABLO III like , barbarian build mechanic, allowing your (HEROIC LEAP) to pull enemies within a 12 yard radius to you. Deal 75% attack power damage. and interrupt casting for 0.1 seconds. (NOT A STUN). What these changes allow are for perfect synergy with rage generation and rage spending. And effectively allows Burst abilities to be used as minor defensives/offensives in a pinch. if your slightly short on rage. It will allow better synergy with devastator and vengence and booming voice even though booming voice is technically a nerf it still allows for ignore pain to be used with it. *OR* you could make it so it automatically casts IP or extends shield block. and remove the rage entirely.Vvarleader35 Nov 12
Nov 11 Khayurn, Blade of the Wolves 350 Twohander I don't know if this a great forum to post this but hey it's a 350 Two-Hander with Crit Haste, we could all use it. Has anyone found it? I know the highest geared warrior on my server has it, and the only comment on WoWhead says it dropped from the bloods in the Stormsong Valley. If you have any more information on it please hit me up would love to replace my i-level 300 Sword with a couple hours of farming.Release14 Nov 11
Nov 11 Fury Mastery Rework? I would like to suggest changing Unshackled Fury mastery to one that more closely aligns to the play style of a Fury warrior. It currently gives a damage increase to all your abilities while enraged; however, I would like to see it feed more of the damage into rampage. -- Unshackled Fury causes each rampage to increase the damage of subsequent rampages by 10% (+mastery). Lasting 14 seconds and multiple instances may stack but will not refresh the duration. -- This would result in a vast difference in dps between rampage and other abilities. The sole purpose of raging blow, bloodthirst, and whirlwind is to feed all your damage into one powerful attack. This is the reason why fury doesn't hit hard except for rampage/execute. I am suggesting that the mastery should reflect that design. The thing that differentiates arms from fury is that arms abilities are generally closer together in terms of dps; however, fury is designed to put all of it into rampage. If all fury abilities dealt relatively equal dps, then it too close to how an arms warrior plays. For me, the spec is fun to plan because unleashing rampage after rampage is satisfying and having the mastery work in this manner would make it more rewarding to do so.Khanibrawl8 Nov 11
Nov 11 Healers not "topping us off" in Mythic+? Hello again, Was spamming Mythic+ 6-7 PUGs again tonight on the Warrior, I notice that several PUG healers did not top me off before the next pull. Is this normal? For example, after killing a pack of mobs I might be 50-60% health, but the healer won't top me off for whatever reason. I'll wait a few secs before pulling again (hoping I get topped off)... but I'm still at 50%. I go ahead and pull anyway using a cooldown (Last Stand, Shield Wall, etc), because hey - we're on the clock, can't stand around. I mean... I'm not dying, but because I started the next pull at 50-60% health I do dip dangerously low at times (down to 15-20%). You almost have a panic attack when you see yourself dip that low lol Is this some kind of "mana efficiency" thing to not heal the tank between pulls? Or is it just bad PUGs? What's going on here? I'm fairly new to Mythic+ tanking, so was wondering if anyone else experiences this.Gdtroll17 Nov 11
Nov 11 Azerite Traits Looking at recommendations for Azerite Traits, Icy-Veins only discusses Spec specific outer ring traits, as they say the general ones are not up all the time and therefore negligible to our spec traits. Is that really the case for warriors? Do only spec traits have value? Do I really want ignore Blood Rite which offers a chance at a decent amount of haste for Blood Sport? Or any others that offer haste as-well?Scylliana5 Nov 11
Nov 11 Second Artifact weapon quest? Hey folks, where do I find the second artifact weapon quest? i started with Fury months ago, only got to the skyfire quest, and no realize i want to go prot. Where would I find the starting quest for that? Any help would be appreciated. Thank youMerpiggle16 Nov 11
Nov 10 Glyph of the Blazing Savior Bugged? I bought Glyph of the Blazing Sun today and then I try to apply it to Intercept in Protection spec it says "That glyph can't be applied there." When using it on Intercept, it casts, Intercept gets a purple icon in the top right indicating it has a glyph and then I get the error message.Shalaza60 Nov 10
Nov 10 How are fury self heals for high ilvl? So the topic is really reaching out to those who are ilvl 350+ between the 6% and the 20% heal abilities? I'm not really good with percentile math. The reason I'm asking is cause I'm wondering if ret paladin's heals are alot better or a mild bit better or even? Seen some amazing stuff from watching swifty and other warrior videos but I have yet stumbled upon a near equally geared ret vs fury duel. Did watch swifty chew up a geared blood DK in a duel as fury and pretty much maintain full health!Exeqt16 Nov 10
Nov 10 Warrior DPS Help Here's my issue. I've been playing Fury for years and like to think that at this point in the game I at least have a good understanding of my basic rotation, as well talents, CD's, and spells. Normally I can output highest DPS in 95% of my M+ groups (AOE based obviously), and even a lot of Single Target Boss fights. However Raiding is another story. I'm constantly sweating and pushing to the max just to try and keep up with other Warriors using Arms who are at least 10ilvls below me! And I mean on Single Target fights. These guys are killing me. Constantly Number one on the charts (By far). So is there even a point to Fury anymore when the better choice is Arms? I have to admit, recently I gave it a try and just felt Rage starved the whole time, and sat waiting on Procs. Nice openers but I just don't get it. So my 2 questions are. 1) Proper Arms Rotation so I actually have Rage to use? 2) Arms sucks and I'd rather stick with Fury, so what's a die hard, set in stone Rotation that actually works?Rocshow19 Nov 10
Nov 10 Fury better than Arms 90% of the time? It seems like Fury outperforms Arms in pretty much every situation: Single target - Fury is a clear winner here. Multiple target sustained - gotta give this one to Fury as well. Multiple target burst - okay, Arms takes the cake here. Warbreaker + Bladestorm is a nice combo. Mobility - Fury if specced into it. Survivability - Fury has more sustained self healing that helps during prolonged fights, while Arms has Die by the Sword, which is kind of an "oh !@#$" button. I'd say Fury has it better in the long run. Ease of rotation - please, Fury is 3 buttons. I personally see absolutely no reason whatsoever to play Arms. Which is a shame, considering how much fun it was in Legion. Am I the only one who feels this way?Mortis65 Nov 10
Nov 10 Suggestion for fury burst aoe I feel like most of us know that arms is much better than fury at burst aoe with warbreaker / bs, due to the fact that bladestorm hits unlimited targets and applies deep wounds to them all as well. Also there is very little setup to this combo and no need to manage enrage during it. I feel like if recklessness also allowed ww/meat cleaver to cause bloodthirst, raging, blow, execute, rampage and siegebreaker to hit unlimited targets for the next 2 attacks only during recklessness it would make our burst dps more competitive while still probably being less than the dps arms would pull in a similar situation. This seems like a good idea to me but I ask my fellow warriors would it be too op or cause other problems I'm not seeing? Or do you think this would be a nice buff to recklessness that makes talents like reckless abandon more appealing in certain situations?Kinison3 Nov 10

Nov 10 A Few Suggestions, Please I decided to roll a new alt, and level her from 1 up. Chose warrior gnome (I like gnomes, they are short and kind of round, like me). The beginning quests are different than when I first played, back in vanilla, and I am looking for suggestions about talents and professions for my new alt. Thanks in advance.Madmadge0 Nov 10
