Code of Conduct: http://us.battle.net/en/community/conduct Posting Guidelines: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/900930866#2 Important Reminders: Search The search function at the top of the World of Warcraft community site is extremely effective and robust. Before you create a new forum topic, please be use it to search for similar topics, blog posts, or web pages that may contain the answer for which you are looking. Making a new thread on an existing subject can result in your thread being deleted or, if you continue to re-post the same content, the loss of your forum privileges for spamming. Rating The forum rating system can be used to promote positive discussion, demote unhelpful comments, and even report posts that violate the forum Code of Conduct. By hovering over a post you'll be presented with several options, including a "thumbs up" (Like) and a "thumbs down" (Dislike) icon. Clicking the "thumbs up" icon will rate the post up. If enough people like a post, it will gain a Highly Rated status and appear at the top of related search results. Highly Rated posts will also have a highlighted background. Clicking the "thumbs down" icon will expand a drop-down menu which will include "Dislike," "Trolling, "Spam" and "Report" options. "Dislike" will rate the post down. If enough people dislike a post, it will be darkened, and with a lot of dislikes it will be hidden completely. You can also quickly report a post as trolling or spam, or use the report function to fill out a more comprehensive description of a violation. Please note that you can only rate each post once. 2d Australian Servers and FAQ We are pleased to announce that the upcoming deployment of Australian World of Warcraft game servers ahead of the games next expansion, Warlords of Draenor. This new infrastructure will support Australia and New Zealand and should provide a significant smoother gameplay experience for players in the region. Players currently on an Oceanic realm—Barthilas, Frostmourne, Thaurissan, Saurfang, Caelestrasz, Jubei'Thos, Khaz'goroth, Aman'Thul, Nagrand, Dath'Remar, Dreadmaul, and Gundrak—should automatically experience improved latency once the new game servers go live. To help those currently adventuring on North American realms, such as Blackrock and Proudmoore, optional free character and guild master realm transfers will be offered for a limited time. Q: What benefits will local game servers have for Australian and New Zealand World of Warcraft players? A: The introduction of World of Warcraft game servers hosted in Australia, which will support the Oceanic realms, should provide local Australian and New Zealand players with reduced latency, which should provide an improved gameplay experience as a result. Q: Where will the servers be physically located? A: The game servers will be hosted within an Australian data centre, ensuring Australian and New Zealand players receive the best possible latency. Q: Will I still be able to play with my friends who are on U.S. servers? A: Yes! Because the new Australian World of Warcraft game servers will continue to communicate with the existing North American hardware, players will still be able to play with friends on U.S game servers, just as they can today. They’ll still be able to use their Blizzard friends list to easily group up and chat, regardless of where they are playing. Q: Will the new game servers have any impact on my current characters? A: No! Because the local World of Warcraft game servers will replace the existing U.S.-based hardware which currently hosts the Oceanic realms, all individual characters, gold, and guilds already on an Oceanic realm will be unaffected. The introduction of Australian game servers will be completely invisible to players in the region, with the immediate benefit of providing greatly reduced latency; resulting in a smoother, more responsive gameplay experience. Q: When will local game servers be available? A: We’re aiming to have the new local World of Warcraft game servers available ahead of the release of the upcoming expansion, Warlords of Draenor, which will go on sale in Australia and New Zealand on November 13, 2014. An extended maintenance to the current Oceanic realms will be required in order to migrate player data to the new hardware. Servers will be taken offline on Tuesday October 28 with normal scheduled maintenance and we will have the new game servers online as soon as possible. Q: Will the new local game servers only be available to players who purchase World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor, or will they also work for players without the expansion? A: While we’re excited for players to take on the Iron Horde and help repel the invasion of Azeroth in World of Warcraft’s next expansion, Warlords of Draenor, all players will be able to take advantage of the introduction of the new local game servers straight away. Optional character transfers will be made available for a limited time for those players who wish to play on the new Australian game servers, but who are not currently part of an Oceanic realm. Q: How will the character transfer process work? A: Once the new regional hardware comes online, players who are already on an Oceanic realm will not be required to take any action to move to an Australian server. Players who are currently on Oceanic or North American realms will be offered a two-week window to transfer their characters to one of the existing Oceanic realms. While players will be required to purchase a paid Character Transfer service for each character they wish to relocate, full refunds for each toon moved will be automatically processed and returned within 72 hours. This process will begin from 6:01PM AEDT Oct 29, 2014 and end at 6:59PM AEDT Nov 13, 2014. Players will still be able to transfer characters to Oceanic realms after this time, but associated server transfer costs will not be reimbursed. Please note that while Character Transfers and Guild Master Realm Transfers will be offered without charge, bundling additional services, such as a Faction Change to a Character Transfer or Guild Master Realm Transfer will mean the bundle is no longer eligible for refund. To ensure the cost of your Character Transfer service is returned, first move your character to an Oceanic realm and then initiate a separate faction, race or name change as desired.Watcher1204 2d

2h Do Aussie servers for dungeons&raids exist? I don't think I've ever seen one. Playing with 250 ping isn't fun, especially when you can die for not moving in time..Verelias6 2h
4h Thinking of paying for a realm transfer Hiyas, So I've been wondering for some time now. I have 12 characters whom I've dedicated a lot of my time to over the years. I really don't want to part with them and have to re-roll onto a oceanic realm. Now, I've got a few alts on Oceanic realms and the ping is great, ~20ms vs the ping I get on my US realm characters of ~170ms. The differences are somewhat little when I'm playing but do you think it'll be worth paying for a character transfer or just stay on the US realm?Qqoblin2 4h
8h Day and Night are Backwards I noticed this a long time ago and I'm sure you guys have too, but I'm just now making the complaint because I'm sick of nighttime in WoW. Daytime and nighttime in WoW are essentially the opposite of us in Australia. So when we play during the day, afternoon, and early night, it's always nighttime. I'm so over seeing nighttime constantly. The only way we get to see day is if we were to play between midnight and 6am. I'm going to go out on a limb and assume every server and realm go by one universal day/night cycle?, and that it's calibrated to mimic America? That's nice for you guys, but I would like to see day for once. Can we please get out own separate day and night cycle to suit us Oceanic players?Stabriel246 8h
8h An Oceanic Rp server? I'm an RPer. I go on moonguard to RP sometimes, but every time I do RP it's night time server side because I live in Australia. Most people are in bed at 2 in the morning so I have hardly anyone to really RP with unless I stay up really late in the night. So I ask if it's possible to have an RP server for the Oceanic realms? It'd make my RP experience so much better.Theirn81 8h
19h New Zealand Guild <Conclude> Horde New Zealand Guild <Conclude> Barthilas PvP Oceanic <Conclude> 1/9 Mythic and 10/10H AoTC NH New Zealand Raiding Guild from 6PM to 8.30PM Server Time / 8pm to 10.30pm New Zealand on Wednesday and Thursday. Currently looking for Healers and DPS (Pref Ranged) for Heroic and Mythic Antorus starting November 28th. Mostly a older group of guys, 30+ however we have some younger players. Our goal and aim is to raid ToS Heroic format upwards, in a 30 man strong New Zealand roster. We prefer raiding New Zealand times, for that reason are pushing for strong New Zealand Guild and Community within. We have players from Vanilla through to Legion still playing, some re-rolls from Alliance or Mains in higher progressed Mythic Guilds. A host of old guilds like QED, Eminence, Adept and the list goes on of NZ'ers in the mix (Some Aussies too). We push Mythic + Keystones on Weekends, Glory Raid Achievements and looking to starting a RBG Group soon too. If you are from New Zealand, looking to raid times that suite then this is for you. We accept casuals too, as it is a NZ Community were obtaining and obtaining in decent strides. The gaming community here is not limited to WoW.. some of the Street Figther/Fighting Game Scene in New Zealand, along with other MMO based games from previous years; FFXI/FFXIV. Send anyone from Conclude a message in game and discuss it further. Hopefully see all you fellow Kiwis soon (Aussies who prefer earlier raid times welcomed too). Cheers.Cynetik58 19h

2d Any other aussies lagging horribly? I pkay on Barth and i have unplayable lag atm. Troubleshooted everything spoke to my isp and they say nothings wrong. I have a 3 month old top notch rig as well. I am on an ADSL2 connection so maybe its that... Anyone else unable to play due to the crippling high home/world ms?Icehammer7 2d
2d Time for another merge of servers If you aren't playing on Frostmourne or Barthilas, then undoubtedly your realm only has close to ten guilds pushing mythic raiding. Don't get me wrong that is a lot of people raiding, but for those who want to push past normal/heroic and get into a proper progression guild - the spots feel limited. There are a lot of things blizzard have done to counteract the diminishing populations on realms by making things cross-realm. sharding etc. But for guilds who like playing together, it's becoming or already has been a nightmare to find new members who want to raid. Oceania realistically only needs four megaservers.Chikanslinna5 2d
2d Bad Fur Day So i thought i might put up some info on what this guild really is, so i joined and was made officer after a month and within in that time there was multiple arguments and fights/drama. this is what i experienced - Leader came to me saying complaints had been made about my attitude in discord(only spoke to 4 people in discord never was this mentioned as there was none) - Blamed a guildie saying they complained about my attitude in discord and guild chat ( never used guild chat lol ) - Helped leader learn ways to make gold and when that wasn't fast enough started asking me if he could buy gold from me( Blizzard jump on this prob not 1st time ) - Leader told 15 yr old girl to neck herself and called her a btch on discord - Rejects guildies alts in raids for gear but will take his GF's alt into raids so that we can carry her for gear List goes on, im not here for anyones responses im here to let people know that no matter what is said this is a terrible guild to belong to when the leader has no guts to kick you and be honest and makes up excuses like complaints being bought forward just show's. if anyone has had experience with this guild feel free to post yours down belowFynól0 2d

Feb 14 GST registration Dear blizz, Had a check on the IRD GST registration website today and from all intents and purposes I couldn't find any companies under blizz, activision or actiblizz registered. Which means someones been a bad monkey in charging us kiwi's GST when you're not paying it. Maybe that was something your american accountants don't know about but it has to be paid to the NZ govt if you're going to charge us. Unless I've missed something.Which is highly possible. Will give you guys a few days to reply then I'll forward this to the tax department.Curruptress0 Feb 14
Feb 13 WoW level scaling is worthless because... What is the point of world scaling, when the best way to grind out levels and level your toon is to spam LFD? I can always be near a repair shop and sell my items each dungeon. Where as leveling int he world I have to run to places, may not be near a repair shop, and I get less XP. There is no point to this new feature unless you either nerf the XP you get per dungeon (i.e. have you get the majority of the XP by completing the dungeon quests, not the dungeon itself) or increase the XP you get for world quests. Please let me know if I am wrong and why? I hope you all are having a good day.Mendaxus12 Feb 13
Feb 13 Shal'dorei Silk G'day all Has any one else noticed the Blizzard has changed the drop rate the more you farm an area for crafting mats? example the Naga on the broken Isle did 6 full clears of the area as I'm after Shal'dorei Silk to make bags for new toons. First clear I got 78 the next 66 then 54, 48, 48 then last 36. Going to try a few other areas to see if I get the same resultDeadby0 Feb 13

Feb 8 Ashran on Oceanic realms let us in! Since the launch of legion i have not been able to get into Ashran. I have spent over 9 hours in a single a queue twice on a weekend to get in but the queue never pops. I was hoping with 7.3 something may have been done to address this issue but 2 nights ago I spent 3 hours in queue and nothing, please do something to allow players inside, some of us still want to collect the achievements and rep.Evani7 Feb 8

Feb 7 question about cross realm bgs, oce > U.S Why does every bg i do connect me to us servers? i get 250-300ms every time. why dont they just let us do bgs with other oceanic realms? i cant play properly like this and why give us oceanic servers if i just get connected to US servers every damn time.. can someone explain how it work's, and if they'll ever fix this?? i dont mind waiting longer for a bg to pop if it means im playing oceanic.Erll1 Feb 7
Feb 6 Blizzard's stance on an Oceanic RP server? So this is an issue that I've wondered about for quite some time. When will Blizzard introduce an RP realm based in the Oceanic data center? I'll elaborate a bit. In the past, it hasn't been an issue for Oceanic players to simply make a character on a US RP server, as our Oceanic servers were hosted in LA anyway. There was no difference in latency, just time zones. Now that we've been given true Oceanic servers, being forced to log onto a US realm is a big hit, especially considering the direction that modern content development is going. Oceanic players shouldn't be forced to choose between a stable gameplay experience or the unique experience offered by an RP server. And with the proposed changes to World PvP, being opt-in and all that, Blizzard would no longer have to choose between an RP or an RP-PVP server, the choice would be clear. I've tried asking this question through Twitter, but have yet to receive a response.Totusgnarus12 Feb 6
Feb 2 Shyness, anxiety, depression, toxic community Empty friend list, empty btag list, empty guild or no one ever online, uneasy starting conversation. There are way too many to list all the reasons why most of us play alone. Unfortunately, as most of us know, finding nice people has become a bit of an issue due to the toxic behaviour of a very small portion of the player base. Most of us just stay quiet for fear of getting kicked out by those disruptive kids, or insulted, and so on. I've started a community on Discord and hoping to find more like-minded people interested in joining us. You know, people who can speak in full sentences, people who don't need to swear every 2nd word, people who can go for hours without insulting others, people who actually like to help out, etc... In short, a nice community. No need to transfer toons, to reroll, or change anything you do. We get together on Discord to chit-chat (mostly text), or to form groups, to get help or to help out. If you are as bored of playing alone as some of us are, feel free to join us. Everyone is welcomed, regardless of faction, level, ilvl, experience, etc. Please post your btag in here and I will check the thread regularly to add you. By posting in here, others may also friend you or you can friend some and you'll gather your own list of friends. If you prefer not putting your info in here, you can contact me directly on btag or in Discord. Looking forward to meeting some of you soon. Feb 2 Dissent - Barthilas Horde Recruiting now! Dissent is an Oceanic based guild which boasts a roster of mostly IRL friends. We are are a casual guild that is currently 1/11M and seeking a few extra warm bodies to help fill-out Mythic numbers. Our raid nights are Sunday 8:00-11:00 (AEDT) and Monday 8:30-11:00. We are not looking to clear mythic, just progress as far as our roster is comfortable with. We are taking applications for all classes with the exception of resto druids and hunters. Bonus points for M+ junkies. On a personal note, most of our core have families and at one point were hardcore raiders. The experience is there but with how busy life gets, we all prefer to stick to a more casual raiding style. Majority of the roster have been playing wow since Vanilla/BC. If you think this might be a home for you, please whisper me in-game or reach me on btag: nerfmeffs#1778Ahoymate0 Feb 2

Jan 31 Best oceanic servers I haven't played properly since Cata but keen to get back into it for BFA. As it's been awhile since I've played properly, I'm gonna level a new toon with the new level scaling to re-experience the game and so on. I'm wondering what oceanic servers (Aussie here) are good a go-to for Horde these days? Barth seems like the dominant one, but Cael/Nag and Jubei/Gund seem good as well for a more balanced ratio and less hardcore environment? I'm looking for a solid population (obviously a quiet time atm), active and fun guilds, and an overall good community that isn't ruled by elitist pr*cks. Any recommendations? Also not entirely against rolling Alliance if the community is exceptionally good.Darkzie6 Jan 31

Jan 30 Why are Argus invasions always in a raid? I play mostly on a US server but I have a couple of Horde toons on an Oceanic server. (Yes I'm in Aus, but it's a long story). On the US server, no one joins a raid group for the lesser invasions on Argus. Everyone just goes through the door, and more and more ppl come in, and everyone kills everything and then leaves through the portal at the end. BUT. On Oceanic, every single invasion people join a raid group via LFG. Why? I have lost count of the number of invasions I've done on Argus (on my Hordie) and there is no one there when you go through the door. People come in, and phase out, joining a raid group. I have to admit, it's pretty annoying. Especially when, as soon as the boss is dead, the leader leaves the group and so the entire raid group is left down at the exit portal, unable to click on it, and the mobs all respawning around you. At that point, the entire raid starts running back though the mobs to the entry portal. This is never ever a problem on the US servers as there is no raid leader to do this to everyone else in the raid. Why can't people just go through the door and fight like on US servers?Khristabel0 Jan 30
Jan 30 Is the Armory Broken on Oceanic Servers? I can armory my toons that are on US servers, but I cannot armory my toons that are on Oceanic servers. When I try, I get a page with this error message: ... I can look up the armories of my toons on US servers (and of other people's toons on US servers). I cannot look up the armories of my toons that are on Oceanic servers, nor can I look up the armories of other players on Oceanic servers.Eilanna9 Jan 30

Jan 26 Consistently higher ping on US servers. Hey everyone, this is a post I made in the tech support forums. Wondering if anyone else has been experiencing similar issues. For a few weeks now I've been having a recurring problem with my latency to US servers from Australia. I've played warcraft for a long time now and the majority of that time has been connected to US servers, so the standard ~200 ping can be grating but not a major issue. Recently however I've found all US servers to be consistently going into the high three hundreds. At first I thought it was explicitly the furthest data center, but since looking into it even LA is above 300 at all times. As soon as I zone into an American arena, or log on to a character on a US server, the ping is a stable >300 I've spoken to other OCE players who claim to also be feeling higher ping, but none of the numbers provided come close to mine. The trace route I've included suggests it's not a personal issue, but I don't pretend to know about this stuff with any assurance. Jan 26 Happy Australia Day! (Naturally to everyone who is an Aussie) :))) And to make sure I topic correctly, just wanted to ask if any of you have noticed any sort of increase in the numbers playing the starter zones on Oceanic. I have been levelling this girl and I'm seeing a fair few people around - was in Loch Modan yesterday and it was reasonably busy. Just wondering if there are more new players on, or just people like me starting new toons.Littlesneak2 Jan 26
