Update: a few other DHs showed up and we were able to finish him off together from what the NPCs had done. As far as I can tell, waiting for other people to show up might be the only way to complete this currently and it's still extremely slow.

Yeah, I'm not able to complete this chain now. He takes forever to kill and the damage from his abilities and the adds that perpetually spawn eventually kills me, and I haven't even made much dent in him by then.He has 104k health, I'm doing 500 dps. His unavoidable ability hits for 3k and I have 14.5k health. His avoidable abilities hit for MUCH more, so you also need 100% execution perfection on those. The melee from the adds usually kills me, and unfortunately you can't clear out the adds first since they keep spawning through the encounter. And his health resets when you die, so you c…

Now that we've gotten AotC and our skip quest finished, we'll be working on the meta achievements for Legion and then retiring for the duration of the expansion.

I don't think there's anything more to it than the fact that large amounts of people have shown interest in them. But honestly, it just makes sense. Either you can spend money litigating against private servers to protect your IP, and disappoint those players who are passionate fans of the original game, or you can try to find a to deliver that product to them yourself, which makes those fans happy while diminishing the appeal of them going to a third party running the content illegally.
