I'm not sure what changed, but quite a few times now i randomly get locked in combat with a mob. This is especially prevalent in Drustvar. Its quite frustrating to dismount then be completely unable to remount unless you suicide / vanish / feign. I'm not sure why this is such a big issue suddenly, but its becoming quite annoying to have to essentially sacrifice 10% durability every time a mob decides you're going to be in combat permanently.

Seems like the solution would just be to allow rare items to drop if you win, regardless of what mobs you kill. Seems like more unnecessary Blizzard time/lottery gating combined with the typical refusal to just tell us how it works, just for the sake of making it take longer for "player enjoyment" of course

Don't be silly. If you want to know rates on things you should just check WoWHead. It would be silly to let players know the chances they have at getting what thery want, because if they did you wouldnt want to grind it because its probably stupidly low, or has some other stupid system that makes it take longer just so it can take longer. Like most of the expansion now that i think about it...But no, it honestly wouldnt surprise me at this point if there is just no bad luck protection, or its bugged, or not even turned on.

Everything in HFC mythis is soloable. The first boss takes practice and a class with high mobility, you should use the ammo for the speed boosts to get from one side to another. Gorefiend is soloable, but if you have 2+ you can only have one person in the room or he'll just reset. Tyrant is a hard dps check, you have to kill her before she lowers your max hp to much and kills you with healing absorbs
