Can we settle the armor down a tad? :3

General Discussion
my favorite stuff is from vanilla/bc. they should keep doing what they're doing with armor, just make additional simpler stuff too.

best of both worlds.
Personally I don't feel there is enough diversity. I would prefer for armor types to be removed outright and for blizz to take dc universes idea of armor customization. As well as make it so our achievement points could be used for something actually fun. Them being mainly for bragging rights is meaningless.
Questing gear is usually pretty simple. The early MoP plate set is pretty bare bones.
Have to agree with OP. And just spare me from the wrath-style "kneeboot" - that on a draenei doesn't get anywhere close to her knee - and from the "pregnant" belts. All I can say is thank goddess for transmog.
Clothies have been wearing plate shoulders forever, just take a look at the tier 8 stuff.
I liked the classic and BC sets. My warlock still has the crafted chest piece from the Thorium Brotherhood rep transmogged.
The problem is that the tier pieces are being designed with the raid in mind and not the class

In my opinion, T10 is the best blend of class/raid influence when it comes to armor design. Most of the sets felt like they belonged in ICC, yet you could still figure out which set belonged to which class at a glance.

No one wants to see the fruits of your heroic progression Illu.
Since transmog came out I don't think I've ever had a toon dressed in a current tier set. I'm happy that we have the choice to reach back in time to find more simple looks that appeal to us, but yes, it would be nice to see less bulky garb come out of Studio Blizz.

When I suit up in current gear I feel like a little girl wearing her older brothers football uniform.

I know that each generation of gear artist must feel a need to make the next tier more exciting and desirable than the last. But it is getting rather ridiculous.
I think Blizzard expects the majority of the player base to expect the armor we wear to become more and more grand/fancy every expansion to show that we are more powerful than we were previously. Take players complaining about the numbers squish, they feel like bigger numbers must happen every expansion to show progression. There are those who feel the same about armor (I'm not one of them, love the judgement pally set and the ?tier 6? pally set that has the halo piece, definitely my two favorite sets in game.
Shoulders and helmets maybe... the rest is just flat skin-tight armor. I really don't understand why at least plate isn't 3D armor yet.

This is actually the kind of gear I like >_>
Yeah, definitely want more simple stuff. It's getting a little crazy at times.
I'm more so appalled at the lack of good Mail sets for hunters. I mean seriously.. our first Tier set for Pandaria was -HORRIBLE-... How big do our shoulders need to be??? how big do the damn helms need to be?? We're HUNTERS. Our stuff doesn't need to be so bulky.
I'm mogged as a Shaman because 1. Bright colors. and 2. The shoulders arn't so big I could kill someone by trying to turn around.

Edit: Also, i'd like a set that isn't comprised of the faces of a semi intelligent humanoid being worn AS A HAT. >:I
