Noboby has mentioned MyRolePlay? I got it off wowinterface.com, it does the same thing RSP does but has a lot more features.

This hasn't been updated in what could feel like years.
Okay, this seriously needs to be updated. who's in charge here????

Agreed. No singular person is in charge, but there really ought to be -some- way to take stickies down that aren't being updated.
RP ADDONS

TotalRP 2:
http://www.curse.com/addons/wow/totalrp2
An all-inclusive mod that allows extreme character descriptions, emotional states/buffs/debuffs, mount/companion names, personality indicators, chat coloring, NPC chatting, item creation, quest creation, sound effects, IC/OOC indicators, RP skill level, and language functions. Compatible with MyRolePlay's RP Flag functionality.

MogIt:
http://www.curse.com/addons/wow/mogit
A handy mod for trying out any transmoggable gear item on your character, with the ability to save a wishlist and find out where you can obtain that model.

AddEmote:
http://www.curse.com/addons/wow/addemote
A mod that allows you to creat custom slash commands and the resulting emote output string for all your toons, and also for your pets and minions.

OTHER GUIDES AND SITES

MGwiki Age/Height/Weight Chart (MGwiki):
http://moonguard.wikia.com/wiki/Character_Height/Weight/Age_Stats
A handy guide for assigning age, height, and weight in RP flags.

TVTropes:
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/HomePage
Avid writers may find themselves stuck here for days at a time. It provides handy character and plot hooks to reference for a basis in character creation and roleplay stories.
.
I like MRP better actually.
I'd like to see an add-on that has sort of a D&D character sheet for the individual characters, mainly because most of the "organized" group roleplays that most of these scrubs attempt to do lack a form of Conflict Resolution, which leads to people arguing about what actually happened and who is in charge...

As far as Lore goes.. There is far too much to research for one to really have a working handle on Lore.. I said the same thing to someone who had a draenei character after she attempted to get on my case about my character being a race that's not in the WoW Lore. (Glass house, throwing stones).

Blizzard changes the Lore as they implant new races/classes/zones into what exists already, so by the time I would get caught up on everything, most of what I would know would be INCORRECT. It's like buying one of those MobyGames strategy guides, and then getting a patch dropped 2 weeks afterward.
=D
I'd just like to thank Iriako for taking the time to fix the missing second post in my absence.
This should be in here. An awesome guide to roleplay gear and dungeon sets/tier.

We need to track down something for character background creation. I've seen so many people have issues with birthplaces and childhood in Azeroth that it would be nice to have a proper place to direct them.

I uh, write a lot. A bunch of it is here. http://wow.joystiq.com/2013/02/23/the-complete-guide-to-roleplay-in-wow/

The section titled Classes, Races and Roles should help considerably with timeline placement and basic racial history.
Just because this needs to be on here and if I didn't link it, wouldn't be doing my civic duty to aid in cleaning up some of the...mess here.
