Changing our models.

Here's how we can work together to do it.

I've compiled and consolidated a list of constructive threads like this. These threads give suggestions and point out flaws in regards to the updated character models.

All of the following threads have been highly up-voted, and most are capped. They are sorted based on popularity and number of responses. I recommend that those interested in finding out more about the issues with their character models, and people are who are interested in campaigning for change, first look through them before posting.

As you know, many people (myself included) feel sincerely hurt, and genuinely lead on in a way. They were promised character models, which I quote, “would retain the look, spirit, and heart” of the originals. Instead, most feel they received no such thing.

These are people who are customers purchasing a service, and therefore they are entitled to some form satisfaction. They are also entitled to an actual response in regards to these issues.

Since they haven't gotten one (at least not a legitimate one), I've tracked down the lead character artist for Blizzard on twitter. You can tweet him your questions or concerns here:

https://twitter.com/Tysmurph/

or

@Tysmurph

Here is his artistic tumblr:

http://tysonmurphy.tumblr.com/

(Perhaps this will shed some light onto why the models were taken into the direction they were.)

Thank you guys, and thank you Makki for those previous threads.

Hopefully this will be a good starting point to open up some actual dialogue with the development team.

Lastly, please keep posts and threads like these alive. To thousands, and maybe even millions, they mean a lot.

Twitter stuff!

Okay, straight up. I'm a twitter newb, but it seems that neither @Warcraft nor @BlizzardCS is bothering to follow Tyson Murphy, who is the person we've been aiming our attention at up until now.

World of Warcraft (@Warcraft)
WoW's basic Twitter account.

Blizzard Customer Support, North America (@BlizzardCS)
From their bio "Let us know how we're doing!"

Chris G. Robinson (@artofcgrobinson)
Senior art director and, from what I gather from his tweet history, the guy really in charge of the new models.

Thanks for doing this, Makki! Also, can you come up with a short hashtag for Twitter so we can keep our tweets easy to find?
Blizzard needs to take a look at this. Because in all honesty, all threads and information compiled here is accurate.

The models released are a joke compared to the quality Blizzard has released in the past. I honestly feel that this content was half-baked and rushed out the door too fast.
God I must be alone here, because in all actual honesty I love the way I look now to what I've looked like the last 7 years.

I wouldn't say they are joke, but quality control was certainly not taken as seriously this time around.

I don't think people are saying that -every- model looks bad. The majority of people in the "I hate these new models camp" are people who play female Humans, male Night Elfs, and so on.

Male Dwarves on the contrary appear to be spot on, for the most part.

^--- the second got post capped, here's the third one up if you wanna put it up.

But WOOT! I did something like this in Beta, I'm glad to see someone picking up the mantle again!
Undead Male Face Feature:
There is a facial feature for male undead that make our eyes black and "soulless".. aka no glow. Currently, there's no glow, but they're still yellow. PLEASE turn that back to black.

Skin Tones:
A lot of skin tones (my orcs stand out the most imo) are discoloured from the original. Either to light, to bright, or just... not right.

Glad to see a third post up! I'll add it to the OP here!

Don't forget to include Tyson's twitter and tumbler in your OPs!

Forever in our hearts, yes you will.

I wanted to include an interesting tidbit in the OP, but I guess it'll suit a regular posting.

This is an example of Tyson's art:

Can we have an art expert determine what style that is?

And is it just me, or can I see some subtle similarities between the updated models and the features on her face?

Hm....definitely in the squirshed head there....the colors are kinda dullish too.
I can't stand the run animation. I switched back to the old models because of that.

I think the most apparent similarities are around the eyes. Large eyes, elevated eyebrows, and elongated noses seem to be a trademark of his.
It's a real shame when a genuine outpouring of support like this can be so blatantly ignored.

Go back to the drawing board with the new models, boys.

We don't mind.
YES, please look at these threads Blizz.
I'm getting used to the models, but they're definitely not what I was expecting.
commenting this to help gain attention.

An anatomically incorrect head?
