Night-Elf Male Neck Problem

Hello again, I'm back to help posting screenshots comparing the neck/walking issues of the Night Elf Male model.

Here they are:

Neck Problem when standing

This example shows precisely how the head is inclined too forward on the new n-elf model. The old one looks definitely more confident, and not as if my character needs to see the chiropractor... :(

Neck Problem apparently gone when walking

Thank you there Ilüvatar!! I was looking into this last night and because the models in WoWhead had a long hairstyle, I really couldn't see it worth a flip. This makes it all the better to prove.

Also, I looooove that transmog.

Thank you, Makki! Yes, that took me long months of farming, but definitely worth it! It looks really great... BUT after patch 6.0, my once confident night elf rogue demon hunter became a running-panda with neck-pain who searches for a chiropractor in the wonderland :DDD not sure if my words make sense, but there they are!

And I get your not happy with the Tauren's noses and to each their own. However you realize we're not actually cows. Bovine in nature but not actual cows. We're far more minotaur then cow. Seeing how all these characters are something someone dreamed up we actually look just like we're supposed to.

Oh I love people who say this.

Did you know what minotaur actually literally means? Go on, let me break down the etymology for you.

Minos, from the king of Crete.

Tauros, Greek for "bull" or "steer".

Thus, minotaur is "king bull".

In fact, common cattle's Latin name is Bos taurus, literally "cow cow".

Tell me again how we're not bovine humanoids.

Now if I could only find it for my female night elf rogue I plan to make one day......

One day........in the far future XD

But, while I'm cruising Imgur for pics to help the cause, I found something for everyone :D

Another point for Night Elf Males: their legs are oddly shaped, and are longer (front to back) than they are thick... if you look at them from the right angle, one leg appears twice as thick as the other. They're not properly curved around.

O_o;; I need a picture, show me this abomination of legginess!

It almost looks like its because of his stance, that larger leg being forward....but that's still weird as....why is it so much bigger!?

Awful! Haven't noticed that... really bad. Clearly, some models are not finished at all... Hope Blizzard will address those issues.

I think the new models look great.

Human's Beard

What you all think about those new long beard models for humans? For me, there is something just not right. I don't know if it is just me, but I can't look to my human and believe he has a beard like a great noble warrior or paladin, for instance, Boromir or Aragorn (not Strider :D), with those long but nicely treated beards. For me, the current model reminds me more of a poor bastard warrior, or a drunk peasant, than a noble warrior. The beard looks plastic, artificial, and I just can't have any human with that beard anymore. I also notice very few people using this model of beard, which may be explained by its terrible look. The texture of beard and hair does not match AT ALL, and that is true for ALL kinds of hair.

Check the difference here:

Not to mention the huge difference on the skin tone (they were supposed to be the same.. right??).... bad, bad...

Idk, I like almost everything about the new female draenei model, it's just the face and expressions that are ruining them for me right now.

Sadly the face is mostly what makes the character so that's a pretty dang big deal.

I do think that several of the other races got demolished though, but again there are still people who love what they were given.

That's the problem with blizzard releasing these models without them looking as close to the originals as possible. Now a lot of people are attached to the new faces and if they ever adjust them to appease those of us who want them closer to the originals, then the people who like them now will be the ones flooding the forums.

They better deliver on the whole "addressing feedback concerns with additional customization options" bit, that's all I can say
Dwarves Male

By far, one of the best models after 6.0... BUT... what about their running? I loved how they used to run, as if they were "grounded"... attached to earth... it was part of their character all these long years of WoW... now, they bounce. I wonder why??

I was put off by it at first. Seemed a little fanciful. But now that I'm used to it, I actually really like their new running. Same with Night Elves for me.

Agreed, Grafty. I may get used to it, since for dwarves the running animation changed a little. But can't agree when regarding the night elves... here we have a true aberration of all. The difference is huge, and they bounce WAY too much.

Ya it is pretty different, not surprised some people don't like it much, so I can understand(a lot of the new models don't quite look like strictly updated versions of the originals, but I prefer that than to just up-rezzing). I personally like the bounce, and don't feel it's too overbearing myself, but that's just me.

Maybe thats because they are using the same basic run for most of the alliance males? They really look almost the same in human, nelf and dwarf males.

I dont think so myself. Dwarf and Night elf deff got some more bounce in their step, but they still look different from each other imo, and human running animation barely has any bounce in it at all. Just fixed the "I really have to pee" running animation of the old one.
Great job with this list Makki

Watch them, they have exaggerated swings in the arms in the same ways. I think human is the least exaggerated yes.

I guess I'm just not noticing it much, I don't know. It's similar in that way a bit I guess. I like the new running animations(leveling up a new NE for my expac boost because of how much I like how they look now), but yea I can see why some wouldnt. It's pretty different.

Tauren jumping looks a little odd to me though, if I had to nitpick about races that I play. Looks like wacky waving inflatable arm tube man.
