Balancing PvP is not dramatically more complex than PvE as you guys seem to want it to be. Some games have dozens of classes with exponentially more possible class combinations on a team than this game and are either more balanced than this game or depending on who you ask, equally unbalanced.

Also, the 3s arena nerds are delusional if they think their little death matches are remotely more balanced than BGs.

Clearly the PVE environment where:

You know how many healers you will have
You know how many ranged you will have
You know how many melee you will have
You know how many tanks you will have
You know your opponents will do the same thing almost every time
You can rely on addons tell you what to do and when to do it
Everything is logged and parsed for review (heals, damage, etc)
Most of the participants are vetted (via achievement, gear, etc)
Most of the time everyone is on voice comms
Where cooldowns are highly micromanaged

Is inherently more complex than PVP between sets of humans which will do different things at different times with groups composed of different comps.
