Everburning Candle Changes

The Everburning Candle will receive a hotfix today which will reduce the amount of mana restored on use from roughly 20,000 to roughly 10,000. Similar to the issue with Scabbard of Kyanos, our previous adjustment left the power level of the item drastically beyond the range of even Mythic raid trinkets. After this hotfix, the trinket will still be an ideal item for any healer, and we will not be adjusting the Intellect passive of the trinket which will remain at 334.

With regard to developer comments made yesterday during the Final Boss podcast interview, we understand changing our minds about not adjusting this item may be frustrating. At the time, we absolutely meant that we were okay with it being over-budget in terms of what it provides (reference the unchanged Intellect). However, when designers took a closer look at the item this morning, they realized that the mana being granted was excessive to the point that it risked undermining healer and encounter balance, and creating a world where healers with the Everburning Candle would play a different game with respect to mana longevity than those without.
Saw this coming, kinda sucks for people who spent a lot of gold on it but it was super strong.
Was expecting:

ruff ruff
RIP
Acceptable. Though I'm not sure I like the fact that you didn't realize the risk of undermining encounter balance until after the outrage..
:O
Deleting all my characters right now.
Hopefully they stick with the 5% buff/nerf.
Meanwhile, healers in PvP are always at 100% mana.
Gotta do what you gotta do, sucks to have paid an absurd amount of gold for it, but that should have been your first sign it wasnt intended.
This nerf is probably fine, but didn't you guys say yesterday in an interview that you weren't going to change it at all? More communication in the company seems in order.

EDIT for quote:

They know the Everburning Candle is over budget, but they are fine with this for now. If they had this conversation 2 months ago, they would probably say “yep, it needs a nerf” but now that it is out there and people have spent lots of gold on it, they don’t feel they should nerf it.
The comment yesterday might've pushed a few people into buying the item, something that'd greatly upset me if I had done it because of the inconsistencies within 24h. Thankfully I told my friend to hold off for a week due to how ridiculous the item was. He'll be thanking me when he sees this.
it's still a solid trinket

no worries fellow healers

Because melee are continually kicking/interrupting/silencing us, so we can't cast.

~nerfs candle 24hrs later~
This marks the second decision (first being personal loot) where Blizzard did a 180 in one month. I'm fully expecting flying in 6.1. Can't wait.
24 hours is all it took. You guys really need to start testing and evaluating things before you make comments saying they won't get changed.

How does this always seem to happen? How can the community honestly ever listen to something you say?

(I don't own this trinket - I feel terrible for the people who spent tons of gold to get it)
*exits thread to search forums for incoming "You no take candle!!!" posts*
By the wording in the interview yesterday, it was stated that you guys did not mind it being over budget.

The immediate nerfs with these trinkets is frankly embarrassing, guys. Get it together and follow your own statements. Several times you'd said that the trinkets were FINE and WOULD NOT BE TOUCHED. Yet here we are. <_<

Stop making statements like these if you aren't completely sure. You're misleading your player base.
