modify the the trinket set bonus to also increase damage/healing done by 10%

That's not what we need in the current stage of PvP, already to much burst.

There's actually a good solution in that, but he didn't think it all the way through.

If the PVP trinket set bonus increased damage to players by 30%, but also reduced damage by ~35%, players using two PVP trinkets would do the exact same damage to other players using PVP trinkets as they do now. Players using PVE trinkets would be taking 30% more damage and be doing less damage to players using two PVP trinkets than they do now.

Of course, this sort of situation is the whole reason Blizzard got rid of resilience and PVP power, because it made PVE gear horrific in PVP (unless of course, cunning of the cruel / vial of shadows).

They could make these changes as trinket set bonuses, instead of direct changes to trinkets. This would encourage the use of both PvP trinkets, and only PvP trinkets in PvP.

Oh !@#$ing god yes.

Good to see Locks supporting no PvE in pvp, since that trinket is what makes aff locks so good this season, you're a good person.
We're actually working on some changes along these lines for Patch 6.1, which should be hitting the PTR relatively soon (but possibly not in today's build). PvE gear will be scaled down to item level 680 instead of 690, and Primal Combatant/Primal Gladiator trinkets are having their power increased.

Perfect. Let this season set a precedent for all seasons to come, that PvE gear won't be the cause of imbalance in PvP.

Why not just make the PVE trinkets and PVE set bonuses entirely unusable while in instanced, rated PVP? That way, it wouldn't hurt people that are gearing up and just doing BGs.

Um, aren't the PvE set bonuses entirely unusable in instanced, rated PvP or did they cancel that change?

It was added to the game in beta at one point for sure.

Get good and raid?
only problem with Git Gud is the fact that sure, they might be top end pvpers, but that doesn't mean top end raiding guild are gonna scramble for them to join.

PvE set bonuses are disabled in rated PvP. If you find one that isn't, that's a bug, please report it!

We don't always have a great way to apply similar logic to trinkets, but we are able to adjust specific trinkets when necessary -- for example, we've just hotfixed the Scabbard of Kyanos' on-use effect to have a lower effectiveness in PvP situations.

LORE I LOVE YOU SO MUCH BB
It's so hilarious that people actually think PvE gear is holding them back in arena.
AWWW YIS, was wondering why pvp trinkets were so terrible damage wise.

To my understanding based on the patch-notes, its effectiveness was reduced in all aeas and the PVP just kind of more or less gets swept up in it by the change because people just so happened to be using it. The problem really wasn't its effectiveness in PVE but the fact that it's so viable (and arguably required) in rated PVP.

According to the thread attached to the hotfix notes, this is an old change you just happened to recycle?

Update: Scabbard of Kyanos was unintentionally buffed in yesterday's hotfix and we've reverted it to the stats it had yesterday. If you've earned one, fear not! It is still an excellent item and will be useful for quite a while.
