Recent CC Diminishing Returns Changes

We’ve recently made a slight change to how crowd control diminishing returns function, and would like to provide some concrete information on exactly what’s been changed and why.

As most of you are likely aware, there is a brief window of time after a crowd control effect has been applied, during which further crowd control effects of the same category will have a decreased duration. In patch 6.0.3, due to the method used to update diminishing returns, that window could last anywhere from 15 to 20 seconds.

Patch 6.1 added some new functionality that allows diminishing returns to update much faster, which means we can be a lot more precise with exactly how long they last. So, we made a recent hotfix that changes the duration of diminishing returns to 18 seconds. That means diminishing returns should last about as long as they did on average prior to these changes, but you’re able to have a much clearer idea of exactly when they’ll end.

Thanks for the update, Lore! :)
So this is proof that Lore does come to the arena forums!

@Lore, why doesn't blizzard ever make an effort to communicate with it's pvp community. There have been some top notch posts here with suggestions, they get upvoted to 70+, and yet just eventually die.

Please hire some little intern or something to communicate with your playerbases.
Nice that it's more stable, but it's still not long enough in my opinion.
Still awaiting you guys to... ya know. Take a look at that spell lockout, kick problem that plagues casters. No one wants to cast this expansion and everyone knows why...

Just imagine if non DR disarms existed for melee like they do for casters. The QQ . My god.
Appreciated.
Ahh, good update.

They refuse to do PvP Q&A as well. During the PvE Q&A on twitch, 99% of chat was asking when they would do one for PvP, yet they still refuse to acknowledge us.
How was there a gap between 15 and 20 seconds... Does that not sound lazy? I'm confused on why it was not a set time?
