Looking to buy a new MacBook Pro - spec help

Mac Technical Support
Hi there, I am currently needing a laptop for work and want something that will run high end games as well. I am not very computer savvy, so any help in specs would be appreciated.

I currently have a mid-2011 iMac 27" with
3.1 GHz Intel Core i5
12 GB 1333 Mhz DDR3 RAM,
AMD Radeon HD 6970M 1024 MB

The new MacBook Pro is:

2.5GHz quad-core Intel Core i7
Turbo Boost up to 3.7GHz
16GB 1600MHz memory
512GB PCIe-based flash storage1
Intel Iris Pro Graphics
AMD Radeon R9 M370X with 2GB GDDR5 memory

Would this run games equal to or better than my current iMac? If better, how much better? Thanks.
I've been looking at getting a new Macbook Pro to replace my 2010 iMac so have been looking into this. The MBP would normally outperform the iMac, but because of the insane resolution of the "Retina" display it's going to probably come out about equal or slightly less.

If you turn down the resolution in the game options it should work great though, but it might not look as nice.
Keep in mind, with all the bugs still in Yosemite, even the newest macs won't run WoW that great on high or ultra settings.. if you do get a new mac, roll back to Mavericks for best performance
