Windows 10 destroyed my framerate with a simple setting swap

Technical Support
It swapped my graphics card to "Microsoft Basic render driver" and now WoW runs are quite literally 6 FPS, and Nvidia control panel wont open, and im unsure if it's safe with the heating issues i had on my APU to swap to that, anyone know what may be causing Nvidia control panel not to launch? is it cause i have Geforce downloading a driver right now?
Mine works fine, and even if you had a driver downloading it shouldn't cause it not to pull up. I'm just having actual issues getting into Wow period.
Deztruction,

"It swapped my graphics card to "Microsoft Basic render driver" means you have to install the video drivers still for your graphics card.

Check it again along with the Nvidia Control Panel after it's done.

Yes it should work. When installing a OS you almost always need to also install the drivers for your machine.
okay, thanks everyone, i'll get back to you on if it workd
So both times i tried installing the drivers, it's flashed twice then told me it's failed, both automatically and manually, is it due to having bnet open or?
Can you post a dxdiag please. Are you using the APU's video card?
No, i never found out how to switch it, i was using Nviidia up till now and now it wont tell me which it's using for the "Basic render driver" i'll get a DXdiag in a moment
Deztruction,

According to your last posted dxdiag in another thread, http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/18300175596#6, you could be using the AMD's built-in video or your Nvidia GT 610, neither of which by the way are going to give very good performance in the game, but that's another issue.

Let's see your dxdiag under Windows 10 next.

Kay, before i DXDiag, i uninstalled all my Nvidia stuff and it seems to be working fine, which gives me a feelling it's running a different card entirely right now, should i just reinstall the nvidia stuff through the manual download?
Deztruction,

The Nvidia card ought to be a bit faster than using the on-board video in the CPU.

Can you try downloading these drivers and when you get them, double click on the file tio start the installation?

When installing them, use the Custom and Clean Install options. Just install the graphic drivers and none of the optional components.

Just to concur - I too was having issues after Windows 10 (960 video card) - I installed new drivers and it was working also.
