What is going on with the kick feature?

General Discussion
When I was a newb very many years ago I didnt know the difference between need and greed so I basically randomly choose whichever one sounded good to me at the time. Sometimes players would get mad at me and I didnt know why.

One day a kind hearted tank asked me why I needed on an item. I told him i didnt know what the difference was because no one told me. after he explained to me what need and greed ment then I never made that mistake again.

In conclusion, there are alot of new players joining the game all the time. some know what they are doing and some dont. you may be getting new players in you groups and are just kicking them and they may not know why. just remember. you were a newb once to.

As far as afk players.....sorry about your luck :(
the more often you kick people from a group, the longer the timer is for you specificaly

dont kick so many people and your timer wont be so long to do so

I had not kicked anyone that entire day, though I did vote "yes" to kick somone on someone else's vote kick once.

I did TRY to kick one person, which failed.

Didn't I go over this already?
I was doing some low level crap where we kicked a person. well we got a new group, and then one of the guys goes afk, won't let us kick him, half the group leaves, we have 1 boss left, ended up 2 manning the boss while afk person was lying on the ground for 45 minutes. hunter/priest against equal level boss, was fun i suppose. but the thing needs to be fixed. hate when game mechanics mess you up though.
I wish there was a vote kick button on the forums... I'd kick OP just for being a noob

'll stop kicking people when they stop ninjaing loot and going AFK for 10+minutes

Clearly, you have a very different picture of the type of player who needs to be kicked. You don't run into people that often that "ninja" loot. Not to mention, it's not considered "ninja'ing" unless you're on group loot or master loot in a raid, and the master runs off with the loot for his guild (or himself).

Some people suck at knowing what loot is good for their player. But usually you see people needing for offspec. Sure, it's rude not to ask permission first, but it's not a ninja. I'd say BoE items are up for grabs, but again, it's polite to ask when you don't actually need the item.

Apparently you kick people way too often for things that you could just talk to them about. This is why I hate the kick feature. Noobs like you kick for petty things. And don't say anything else about not kicking today. Your vote kicking stats are accrued over weeks, and include your voting on someone else's initiated vote.

Calling me a noob? ROFL. I had a level capped character when you thought WoW was some kind of generic soft drink.

No, I kick for ninjaing. It's very easy to tell a ninja, and it has nothing to do with offspec. Quite a lot of assumptions you have made here. And chill out on the personal attacks. I know you like to preen your epeen calling people noob and all, but it's pretty childish and will invariably end up with you having to take a vacation from the forums.

Lol ok, now i know all I need to know. There's a big difference between a "newb" and a "noob"

Cool story bro. You just showed the kind of player you are, which is why you have a 45 min kick timer. You appear to be a rude, short tempered, arrogant, impatient, player that would rather insult or tell ppl how wrong they are and how right you are in the forums and kick people out of groups instead of talking to them or helping them. Frankly you deserve the timer from the looks of it.
I also like how you opened with a personal attack then said to chill out with the personal attacks. But I'd don't know man, with your attitude you seem more like a wrath baby then a launch player to me. I've playing since a few months after launch and man the game is so much less annoying now, we have LFD, little sparkles on quest items, no meeting stones, no lock summons inside dungeons, item rack, shorter dungeons, no more attunement quests for raids, built in quest helper, no more BRD escort quest lol no more 5 hour UBRS runs lol. Man kids these days are spoiled. Back then if you kicked someone it could take forever to replace him so we just held fast and made sure everyone knew what they were supposed to do and worked on it till we downed the boss. Sure there were ninja but you just delt with it besides "ninjaing" from a low lvl dungeon who cares you should have heirloom gear anyways. Just saying most players that I know that "have had lvl capped characters since you thought wow was a generic soda" are alot more relaxed about this stuff due to remembering what it used to be like. Wrath babies are the ones that rage over everything.

Thanks Messer, I was trying to be cool and step out, but you basically said everything I was going to say before I deleted it and put what I did.

Nice hair by the way.

Hey my pleasure Bro. This guy seems like a tool.

Right back at ya with the awesome hair!

Maybe it's just me, but that is a TON of kicking.

when was the last time you leveled up a character from 15 on using exclusively the LFD feature? Someone ALWAYS goes AFK for long time, loot ninja, or sometimes is just their to troll the group.(doesn't do anything but try to train the group/say dumb things, etc.)

At least every 3 instances I run has one of these guys, and at level 30ish you can finish an instance run in 10 minutes.

A hunter to 73 and a paladin to 46 with 0 questing after level 15. With both characters, i think i've had a total of 3 or 4 vote kicks combined because of what you described. Maybe I've just had better luck than you, or maybe I'm just more patient with people. Either way it's a shame we can't vote kick you out of the game. This game has enough of your type.
I have only initiated one vote kick in cata heroics, and rarely kicked anyone in wrath, so why do I have a 45 minute wait timer on my kicks?

Also, I have never voted in a vote kick.

Please explain.

Same here...we dont ever kick anyone, yet says we cant kick em for 27 minutes. Then we kicked maybe one or two people in another instance and couldnt kick another healer...who had balance spec and feral gear...yup..

Two players maximum can be kicked from an instance, though maybe wipes reset that. I wouldn't know, I don't really kick enough to figure these things out. However, your two statements quite clearly contradict each other. You don't ever kick anyone...then you kick two people in one instance.

Man, you guys with all these kicking cds really need to learn a life saving skill:
How to annoy someone so much that they leave without annoying the rest of the party.

Ninja problems? Just keep talking about it. Pull up their statistics and start taking things way too seriously until the ninja gets angry enough to stop ninjaing or leaves. I've had both happen, and I'm happy either way. Honestly though, low level dungeon drops are not something to cry over. I had more issues with tanks showing up in ret spec and expecting to tank. Could work before the shattering, didn't end so well after.

I leveled up pugging as well. I never had issues with vote-kicking. But I also didn't vote-kick for idiocy. No, you'd have to be an arrogant idiot for that.

Waste of time. A ninja will be a ninja and stay a ninja, and the enjoy the fact they are pissing other people off. They will follow your group and do nothing or actually train the group in some cases, or they will just sit there AFK.

In fact the one case that made me finally post this thread went like this:
Some cat druid roles on a mail BoE green that someone else needed on too. And discussion ensues regarding why he rolled on it. His answer? who cares it's just a green BoE. I told him to give the item to the guy who could actually use it. He stopped talking in chat. After silence i just started on the rest of the instance and told everyone to roll need on BoEs from now on. The first boss drops another mail item, blue, and the cat druid rolls need on that too. Then the guy who wanted those mail drops says he's not fighting anymore until the ninja gives him the blue. And we sit there in an instance thqat should have been done in 15 minutes arguing and waiting for 20-30 minutes, and the instance never got done.

Kick vote is broken. they need to change whatever algorithims they have setup currently for determining how often you kick people or whatever. Most of the people I kick are actually violating the rules of the game and could have their accounts sanctioned, and I get doubly punished for their behavior? Blizz really doesn't want my money apparently.

Then you will have a long kick timer, always.

Sorry :|.
