Yay!

Here are all of the PvP changes thus far, but the title is obviously my favorite part:
Player Versus Player

Nagrand Arena has received a significant visual update

Honor System

Honor talents will no longer be lost when a player chooses to Prestige.
Players will receive gold or artifact power in lieu of honor talents at higher prestige levels.

Unrated Rewards

The quality of items rewarded from skirmish and random battlegrounds now increases based on the player’s Honor Level.

Rated Rewards

Players will no longer receive a bonus piece of gear based on their rating for the first two wins in each rated bracket (2v2, 3v3, 10v10).
Players will now receive a bonus piece of gear based on their best rating from the previous week for each rated bracket (2v2, 3v3, 10v10).
Well that sure changed fast.
this is the best christmas ever
huzzah!
they.... they actually got something right!?

i'm going to hold off on getting excited until i see meaningful mechanical changes to classes, though.

So far they managed to slap a big shield nerf on warlocks that puts Demon Skin and Dark Pact on the same row. I guess at the very least it will push people to use Demonic Circle more.
is this going live 7.1? whens 7.1 im lost
Good been sitting at Honor LvL 50 cause I am not losing my talents. Now this is a good reward.
so prestige rewards are just something everyone gets automatically? could of just taken the system out and accomplished the same exact thing. Oh right, handouts.
when is this going live, the prestige stuff needs to be in the game asap
I'm very happy with this change, but now there is no downside to resetting your Honor level. What's the point in the Prestige system now? To make you manually reset your level upon hitting 50 every time?
ahh yes finally nerfed locks they were definitely out of hand

Not really, if you read, it says rewards in BGs are based on Honor Level. So instead of the goofy loss in ability, which hurt some classes more than others and felt weird anyways, now for prestige rewards, you give up your more standard rewards.
that's not what they mean, right now world pvp quest rewards are based off your honor level, which determines quality of gear reward. They are implementing that same thing for skimishes/BGs. Holinka has stated that when you prestige, you are flagged as honor level 50 in terms of reward quality, so even if you are say prestige rank 3: level 1, you get gear as if you were level 50.

This makes prestige passive, something nobody has to go out of their way to do and something everyone does just by playing, negating the need for special rewards from it to begin with. It's a simple way for them to introduce more AP through PvP though, but it completely removes the entire point of the prestige system.

I mean whatever either way I guess, but watching you morons celebrate the removal of optional content is lame.

yep good changes

I read this solely as Holinka's random bg's are kinda empty (participation way down from normal xpac release) and he is forced to rethink it immediately instead of waiting a year

added a 250 AP reward for first bg of the day to get peeps playing

took out the punishment for prestiging so that people would actually use his prestige system

now how about some AP in the 109 bracket where leveling in bg just gimps the heck outta your toon

Thanks for enlightening me. However, it was poorly designed. It wasn't just "optional content". It was content that people shooting for rating had to simply skip out on because we couldn't afford to sacrifice them.

I made the comment before, if they just allowed them to be unlocked at all times in Rated, this wouldn't be a problem. For yolo-ques, being at that disadvantage wouldn't matter so much. But to make prestige rewards (semi) exclusive to the prestige of trying to reach a higher rating. That's just stupid... (Unless you play a LOT or are one of the classes that don't require higher level talents to function, of course.)

The original vision for the Prestige system was to create an extended progression system with a high cost that was purely optional and felt special. We wanted you to see someone with a Prestige badge and think, "Wow, that guy or gal did a crazy difficult grind to get that badge." To make that progression feel good, we added a lot of rewards along the way including artifact power, artifact appearances, mounts, toys, titles, etc. We did receive feedback, both internally and externally, that losing your honor talents didn't feel good and would be a significant impediment to particpating in Prestige. We were willing to live with that downside in order for Prestige to feel more exclusive and special. We try to get everyone honor talents quickly so they can feel competitive. But this also means you can work through the honor system quickly, arriving at level 50 with no where to go. So, we realize that more people will have more fun if they can continue to get rewards from PvP, even if Prestige loses a bit of its luster.

Thank you all for your feedback on this issue. We hope you continue to enjoy Legion and PvP!
