Tyr's Hand 2H Mace Uses Polearm Animation?

Paladin
Is it intended that the Holy artifact weapon Tyr's Hand, a two-handed mace, uses the polearm melee attack animation? I'm thrusting things with my hammer.
I believe it is. In Warcraft III the Paladins used the Polearm animations for their swings. I think this is a throwback/tribute to that.
While I absolutely do agree that the thrusting animation feels and looks odd, I believe it is meant to "improve" the aesthetic of how one holds the weapon.

If you compare wielding the Silver Hand with any other normal two-handed weapon, you may notice the hands are further apart, whereas the grip style on other two-handed, non pole-arm weapons are closer together as if holding onto a smaller sword hilt, even when the weapon in question may have larger area to latch onto, such as an ax or mace.

*Pardon the links, google image search offered these and I cannot be bothered at this time to search for the ones uploaded to this website. The second picture, IIRC, was present on this website somewhere. The first one is of a paladin on a Human victory screen from Warcraft III.
Thank you both for confirming it's not a bug. This is disappointing though. In Warcraft 3 the heroes had a sweet overhand slam swing. We don't have that, but we do have the thrust. Not a good decision by Blizzard here in my opinion.
Mine uses normal 2h animations... but honestly there are SO MANY other non polearm 2h that have so much handle to them, it makes normal 2h swinging animations look downright ridiculous. Looking at you [Jeklik's Smasher].

Phrasing
I turned mine into a 2h sword, problem is left hand is holding nothing. They spaced the hands so far apart that only one stays on the hilt.
Not so much concerned with the animation...as with where the tome is on me.

...apparently, I've super-glued it to my chest...

>_<

EDIT: Also kind of wish it was back to being a 1-hand. I like the libram's look. It's relatively plain...as it should be for a humble wielder of The Light. But the mace is kind of..."eh". I think it's the size of the mace head that makes it look 'ugly'; art-wise it's awesome; aesthetically...it looks like a carnival hammer. :\

So it'd be nice to transmog the mace (*hint* Blizzard, make a smaller mace head version!), but keep the libram at my side.
The animations literally force you to use a polearm or the artifact skins, cant mog swords, other maces, or axes without it looking awful. it really sucks and I wish they'd fix it the animation is terrible.

Your auto-attacks in between Crusader Strikes do the overhand slam swing every so often. Its really quite cool looking.

would be nice if the attack animations worked as 2H weapons (2h sowrds, like the ashbringer)

but the "ready for combat" like this: http://imgur.com/JMi4ce4 stayed like this. (it`s the closest.. wird short cut animation there is... better than polearm`s thrusting animation that`s for sure)
