Do you plan to purchase the next expansion?

I can't say. I haven't bought this one yet.

However, I did enjoy the prelaunch event, and friends whose opinions I respect incline me to say yes.
I'll get a refund on the current one if I could. This is without a doubt the last xpac I will buy for warcraft.

After every expansion people keep saying how they won't buy the next expansion and it will be the end of WoW and blizzard will learn , fun stuff.

I've only seen this attitude towards the last two expacs. I never saw anyone say this about BC, Wrath, Cata or MoP.
Being fair about things, given how Blizzard has approached Legion do you plan to purchase its followup (presumably on Argus)?

Had I been asked this a month ago I wouldn't have hesitated to say yes, but the more layers that get peeled back from Legion the more it simply isn't as fun as I thought it would be. My biggest complaints are:

The AP Grind - Make AP account wide and this could be solved pretty much. Until this happens alts are basically dead.

Gating - I haven't ever been as annoyed with gating as I have in Suramar. I get that rep grinds are a normal thing, but gating basic story content behind it is just infuriating.

RNG - Loot drops are abysmally low in dungeons across the board. This might be due to being able to gear quite a bit from WQs, but it is extremely disheartening. While we are at it, take RNG out of crafting as well.

The Legendaries Fiasco - Since when does the best gear available get locked behind pure RNG? Did a Korean take over for Metzen or something? Unacceptable.

Frankly, if this is the measure of what to expect from WoW I have no idea if I would buy the next expansion. As it stands Legion for me is losing its appeal really quick, as I suspect it is for many others.[/quote

Yeah, as long as it's better than WoD and as good as Legion. Hopefully most of the cry babies won't by it, though I'm sure they probably make up a good chunk of the sub numbers...bleh

yet I can't advance in my professions without raiding

This is what passes for "loads of new content" nowadays and why wouldn't it?

When you have a totally bailed on no content expansion like WoD and you surplant it with WoD II: Lesion - Return of the Grind CE (Casino Edition) even a standard amount of content will feel like a lot if you're essentially coerced into jumping through a bunch of hoops you never had to before.

...

Well that's part of the problem isn't it? Shouldn't the players want to do the content too?

.............................

a BIG one there, there is a significant difference in designing a game or expac that beckons the player to play it rather than design and use GATES to push the player into playing it.

I imagine the Pathfinder meeting played out like...

Lead Dev: Not many players are doing X. What can we do to get more players doing X?

Dev 1: We could make X more fun.

Lead Dev: Be gone from my sight, blasphemer!!!

Dev 2: What about more useful rewards?

Lead Dev: Heretics!!! I'm surrounded by heretics!!!

Dev 3: What if we hold flying hostage until the content ransom is met?

Lead Dev: Genius!!!

XD
I'll buy until they go free to play or shut it down. In either of those two cases I would retire my account.
Currently, no plans what so ever.

WoD let me down, but at least I had fun with alts (kept me subbed, cleared Heroic HFC on 6 toons pre-nerf & did Garrisons)

Legion let me down because I can't really play/enjoy alts(this is my 2nd 110 but not finding much time to do anything with her because of my main). ONE toon isn't enough, one toon bores me, I hate dailies so World Quests are meh.... Artifact Grind is too much, and I cannot stand Suramar City.

Overall, I am highly disappointed with Legion... lots to do, but if I don't want to do any of it - what's the point?

I login/play far less then I did in WoD.

I was on the fence about buying Legion, waited until the day Demon Hunter pre-release came out, and now? I regret my decision to buy it.

I have played blizzard titles for years.

Downhill started with cata in wow. MoP was decent. WoD was a ZERO. Legion is a big fat lie.

Hots is meh. There are better titles already out there and that genre is already old.

Hearthstone don't play. May give it a try.. doubt it.... not into "card" games and buying decks.

Overwatch.. can you say TF2?? No thanks.

Owait.. forgot diablo3 ( worst release ever made... and nothing but a slot machine now imported to wow...) How about that RMAH... :P. Yes I remember their GREED.

Starcraft 2 (fail). Boring clone.

R.I.P blizzard...

Then wtf are you doing here scrub..
I'm not sure if I will buy the next expansion. I really have not given it much thought to be honest. I did not stay too long in WOD. I like the current story so I might stay to the end in this expansion. The thing with no patches for months on end at the end of an expansion lifecycle is something I am not a fan of.

I will probably take a wait and see, as since the DH was the new class, will probably not have another class in the next expansion. Also there are a backlog of games that I need to play on PS3/PS4/Vita also school, family, life in general really.

I won't make a judgement based on the current expansion because personally while I feel there were missteps that should be corrected I can see the bigger picture and have patience to wait and see what they do. Also I'm having fun as well.

And subs have gone down on average of 2 million per expac over the last few expacs.

I guess they mean it.
I only bought legion because someone was telling me how good it was. I last stopped playing 2 months into MoP. Never bought WoD because of the flying bull!@#$. And I won't be buying future expansions if they gate flying again.

The RNG being introduced into EVERY gameplay system in legion is abhorrent.

Its like this since bc/wrath , people attitude on the internet changed drasticly becoming much more whiny , I did not enjoy Vanilla or BC but you didn't see me on the forums whining and saying how the game is too much mindless grind for me.

That's what I'm saying. If you don't like it, then GTFO and do something else with what I can only imagine is an incredibly dull and sad life, given the endless rally of crybabies to get affirmation from other whine babies about something they don't like or see as unfair.

Then spare us all, and unsub...maybe take a few hundred other entitled scrublords with you. :D
nope!

The way they gutted hunters and handled professions this xpac had ruined the game for me.

plus the gating and layers of rng are just no fun and suck and just too many things this xpac ruin playing alts for me

Breaking it down to you from your own whines.

1st off there is always grind of some sort in order to unlock your toons true power. Its been this way since the 1st day WoW launched.

2nd off there is always gating to control just how fast one can consume content, what your whining about many already unlocked max rep with them, so clearly its not that much of a gate you just need to log in each day and do dailies (world quest) in that zone as well as a number of short quest that are located around the zone that have nothing to do with the main story path.

3rd RNG been a part of the game now for how many xpacs, its going away and you might as well get used to it. Even when there are some sort of trackable % drop that could be banked on that in group loot something would drop every 3 kills or so it was still pretty RNG and random bad luck still played a factor in getting it to drop. I really see no less or more loot than I did 10 years ago.

4th Legendaries are not required and I have not seen anything group yet requiring them just to progress in raiding. At this point you can only wear one anyways, its not a game breaker. They are supposed to be a very rare drop and with random luck some people are going to just that be very lucky and get more than one to drop for them over a few weeks, while others are still waiting on just one. They are not something your entitled to just because you play the game.

5th the game loosing it appeal to you would happen anyway because you have no commitment to playing it, you desire a quick in and quick out feed me the best loot with the littlest of time or effort invested. That is the heart and soul of almost everything you whined about. Which in the end your like millions of other who play WoW for a few months after launch and then leave not to come back until the catch up gear is out just a few months before the xpac is over so you can scream look at me I beat the game I got all the good gear ot ilvl that people the real players stuck around and ground for 2 years to get any many of them are still have better than you or even special things than no longer be obtained when the next xpac comes out.

This has actually be the most fulfilling xpac with content in a long time. The manner that one can play and gain power or gear is almost endless at this point. Your artifact weapon much less your off spec weapons are supposed to take months to max out even a full year to get them all to their max ability.

The xpac is supposed to take 2 years to play not one month.

So yes I am more than happy to already say I will be staying subbed and will be buying the next xpac when it comes out 2 years+ down the road.
Significantly too early to say, but I want to parrot the idea that they're very strong with the idea that we'll play what they think is fun, without concern for what WE think is fun.

After WoD, and Legion, if the next Xpac has a grindy, grindy, hall/weapon/thing where my progress is mostly about an item or a 'campaign', I won't be purchasing. I'm not a fan of the methods involved in these expacs. I bought them, and I played them. Now I'm just waiting for my sub to unsub.
I'll get back to you in a year or so when I know anything at all about it.
